    I think it is safe to say that you should travel and visit your mom. The worst case scenario is for your  case to be reschedule and they might not get to you in the next five months......Go visit and take care of mom....Happy val

    I hope this really will reduce the backlog and improve the overall processing time. Will this EO also address staffing issues?

    President Biden just signed an executive order (2/2/2021) to reduce the N-400 processing time. So in a few months, hopefully, we should see some positive effects on our estimated time of approvals.

    Sec. 5.  Promoting Naturalization.
         (a)  Improving the naturalization process.  The Secretary of State, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of Homeland Security shall, within 60 days of the date of this order, develop a plan describing any agency actions, in furtherance of the policy set forth in section 1 of this order, that they will take to:
    (i)    eliminate barriers in and otherwise improve the existing naturalization process, including by conducting a comprehensive review of that process with particular emphasis on the N-400 application, fingerprinting, background and security checks, interviews, civics and English language tests, and the oath of allegiance;
    (ii)   substantially reduce current naturalization processing times;

    You could still transfer your case from paper to online as soon as you get the receipt notice that seems to take roughly 10 days......

    I think you should give it a shot, draft a letter requesting a biometric reuse stating conversation with USCIS Customer Rep (whom I want to assume here is a tier 2 officer). You have nothing to loose, maybe it will spur someone in the field office to act on your case.

    In December 2016 we began our USCIS visa journey saga.  At this juncture in year 2021 our long awaited USCIS goal of USA Naturalization is nearing finalization and completion!  Received our official USCIS Atlanta Field Office N-400 Naturalization interview scheduled on Thursday, March 4, 2021, hallelujah!  On Monday, February 1, 2021 will go to the InfoPass appointment to recieve an I-551 extension stamp in his passport.  We'll share further information after each of the appointments. Our positive thoughts are with each and everyone in their USCIS journey to successfully cross their immigration finish line.  Looking back, the Visa Journey website and community's been invaluable in every faucet of our immigration process. It has saved us hard earned money that many spend in using the services of a licensed US Immigration attorney.  We will plan to use the dollars we saved from having successfully navigated the process adhering and following the prudent, sage and wise counsel of the shared resources from everyone who unselfishly shared their information resources here on the VJ website. We could not have accomplished successfully attaining our goal without each and all of you!  Un millón agradecido a todos aqui...

    OP, Call the USCIS customer service line and ask to speak with a tier 2 officer. They can schedule you for another appointment and you can also explain your case. You have to find a way to get through the bots (automated service), keep trying until you get to speak with someone. Then ask to politely that you need to speak with a tier 2 officer.

    Good luck.

    You can submit both, however, the IRS transcript is easy and straightforward with less information to go through. The link below contain sample of Affidavit and other letters. Notarizing depends on you. I personally notarized mine and there are others that still got approved without the notarized letter. USCIS approval process is always a mystery, what works for one doesn't transition to others.

    Good luck

    Some field offices and or IO handle and process cases differently. You are free to inquire with a Tier 2 officer about your case.

    Congrats on completing the journey while you await your oath ceremony.

    I would suggest you get your Senator or House of Rep member involved in your case if you have done service request and speak to a tier 2 officer per your case. It might also be that they are going to use your fingerprint on file provided there is no expiration on the fingerprint captured way back in 2015.
    It will not hurt to try out the steps listed above (do a service request, speak with a tier 2 officer and finally get your senator's office involve).

    Good luck bros

    I absolutely agree with this... when it pertinent to USCIS, I think VJ family here are more than capable of answering any questions. Good and knowledgeable people still hang in here despite some of them already citizens, just to share their knowledge and experience for us all to learn from.....

    I agree. The only time I have ever used a lawyer was initial application for an adjustment of status. I didn't know what's going on and didn't want to mess up, since then I have applied for ROC by myself, and Naturalization by myself. Saved a lot of money by just following instructions and ask questions on VJ.

    Most of the information you can find here and a lot of people are very helpful with guidance. Just do what people are telling you, collect all the information, explain in a cover letter what happened, list all the evidence that you have with your application, and just send all that out.

    Don't forget to sign and a check with the appropriate amount.
