I was wondering the same thing about the DS-160. I filled it out but didn't submit it and couldn't see anywhere that asked for the NVC case number.

We only really need the NVC case number to book the medical don't we? Once we have that case number we know the application is on its way to the embassy and shouldn't be too long to wait.

I also have the same question. Does anyone know the answer?

not to add fuel to the fire, but did people catch this article in today's NY Times?

I think that's what sent me into the initial tailspain this evening. while it doesn't mention k-1s, what I do know is that they re-allocated more than half the k-1 adjudicators to deal with the flooding of applications for all the people whose status was/is under threat (Haitians' protected status, Daca, etc.) and given what we know about the dramatically shrinking state department, I can only take a wild guess that USCIS has fewer staff, lower funding, more bureaucracy and red tape...  it's quite the perfect storm.

After I had a quick meltdown on the phone with my mom, I looked at the tv and the chyron on CNN was something sadAF like "Majority of Americans report higher stress levels due to politics."

by this point even my cats have the right to be frustrated....

Im hereeee I'm not 350 but frustrated all the more with you and for you... ( I'm more of a 450)

    awww...

i've been a lurker on here for so many months and then, recently I've hit this weird unexpected threshold where i realize i really am in need of some emotional support. And this place actually works!

    so thank you! <3

WAC1790350xxx has every right to be frustrated. I see my 353s getting skipped and I need to remind myself that there are still May and a few April filers still waiting.  I want to be fair, you certainly deserve your approval before I get mine. That is a bit humbling.

Are there seriously April filers still waiting?! That makes me TERRIFIED.

We just have so many hurdles ahead of us as it is - we have to apply for a visa to a 3rd country just to do our interview (since our home embassy is shut down) and then we get in line after a lengthy backlog of the last 4 months of Cuban interviews that are on hold - so it's getting increasingly painful to be at the very front of June and feel like we might be one of the last June apps to be reviewed.

At 7 months in and no NOA2, I think we could be looking at 14+ months from start to finish...  which is just devastating.

I completely agree with that.  I haven't seen a way to do that on VJ, but there are other options through Facebook or maybe a Google Hangout/shared drive.

I think a facebook group would be extremely helpful. Should I set one up?

For the people whose interviews were canceled, holy moly - devastating. Please do keep us posted and we're sending good vibes your way.

He basically said that people are making up the approvals an that the app

I got this line too - you just gotta say, "it's all public information - you can look up any WAC number you want online." That worked with my Tier 2, but he basically was like, "Fine, but there's still nothing we can do. Check again in 4 weeks."

  7. June 02 here - called on Monday and was told by Tier 2 that my case had been assigned to an adjudicator that day and that I should expect a letter in the mail stating as much. (That seemed unusual.)

Friday, no letter, called USCIS, and turns out I have NOT been assigned to an adjudicator. Finally wrote the ol' Congresswoman, but jeez louise this is hard to see hundreds of applications after mine getting approved. I cannot imagine how May filers are coping with this nonsense.

Plus the delays with NVC, plus we're Cuba, so who knows when we'll actually get an interview scheduled.

Honestly if you only talked to a teir 1, I don’t believe they have that information. I give my example again on their info knowledge level. I called yesterday, they only told me my petition has been received. Could not and did not have any more info. 30 minutes later I was approved. So in my call they should have been able to tell me my case was assigned to someone since it was approved 30 minutes later, right. So I think that’s just another one of there prewritten answers.

Praying for your approval to come soon.

    Thanks, appreciate it!

It was a Tier 2 officer who shared that info. Sounded like lip service regardless, sadly.

  9. Hi Team Cuba,

In the data-driven spirit of VJ, trying to aggregate a list of Cuba filers and their status/updates on NVC/Visa Interview in Colombia. Hoping our collective knowledge can land us answers and maybe even an estimated timeline.

Here's a list of folks I believe are planning to have their visas processed in a 3rd-party embassy. Would appreciate if ya'll indicate your status and respective dates/milestones.

    Am I missing anyone?

Feel free to edit/add columns with any other important milestones I'm missing like date of receipt for Bogota Instructions email, etc.

  10. Hi Guys,

Had a confusing comment from an immigration officer today - I called to find out if my case had been assigned to an adjudicator yet, and she said, "we actually just sent you a notice today notifying you that your case has been assigned to an adjudicator."  I asked to clarify, "what did the notice say? Was there a request for more evidence?"

"No Ma'am, just exactly what i stated -- that your case has been assigned."

I told her I wasn't aware that they notify in writing when a case has been assigned, and she said, "Give it 30 days - once it's assigned, it can take up to 30 days to be reviewed."

Does any of this sound right? Has anyone ever receive a notice that their case is being adjudicated?

    FYI June 02, 193 days...
