Can someone shed some light because i feel i am in a mess. 😔  We tried to have my name in my husbunds bank account and house bills but i dont have a ssn so it cant be done. I applied for a ssn one month before my i-94 expired. 4 weeks went by after applying and i was told it could not be done because my i94 was close to or just expired (I cant remember what the guy said), so basically i have no documents to prove my marriage is legit except photos, marrige cert, and chat logs. Im sp worried this is not enough. 😞

What I did to get my wife on my bank account: take copies of everything. I can't remember exactly what they accepted, but I had: her state ID from her country, mail in her name to our address, her passport, and marriage certificate (original). That was enough for the bank, as far as the bills, I would call the electric/water company and landlord and see what they need. The marriage certificate should be enough for the name change with them (along with passport of course).

    485 Approval Question

Upon approval does this mean one can work in the U.S. and leave the U.S. for only two years? Yes... but (see below)

I am confused about why the AOS from K1 visa is only valid for two years. If you've been married for less than a year, that's the green card you get (conditional).

Will I lose my job if working in the U.S. when my two years is up? within 90 days of expiration, file for removal of conditions. You will receive a letter that extends the expiration date of your green card for 1 year. If your RoC interview/approval does not happen within that extended year, make a Infopass appointment (prior to its expiration of course), and get a 551 stamp in your passport (which is in effect a green card for 6 months to a year).

    I hope this helps.

    Hey ya'll,

Would an K1 files who have done their interview be able to confirm a couple of things?

The interview checklist states I need my I-693, the sealed envelope if not previously submitted. I believe I submitted this at port of entry, the sealed envelope from the doctor. Are they going to have this on file somewhere?

-Yes, they will have that or will request it from the POE or Consulate (whoever has it).

And also the I-864 Affidavit of support. Is this required again if I've already sent this with my AOS application? Do I need an updated one or can it be a copy of the original I sent? Or am I good and don't need to bring it at all?

-You should be good if you submitted it already, but take copies just in case.

    Thanks!

    Good morning everyone.

I have my adjustment of status interview in Baltimore in a little over 2 weeks. I’m starting to become increasingly nervous.

    Don't worry :)

I had my full medical examination in my home country Germany on 2/22/18. Since it hasn’t been a year since then I assume I don’t have to go and see a civil surgeon and re do the exam.

-You do not have to redo the exam, the case agent will request it from the embassy.

I wonder if I should go anyways and at least re verify my vaccination record.

-Should not be a problem, again, case agent will request it from the embassy.

Anyone that’s already been through the interview, any special tips you might have?

-Just relax and answer the basic questions and provide any documents requested (take copies of everything).

I have all the documentation and copies of everything, so I feel like I am pretty prepared.

    -You most likely are! :)

i don’t have anything medical since I had to give that in a sealed envelope to the border control officer upon entry on my K1 visa.

-Again, it should not be an issue. Ours took 7 days to arrive/be approved after the interview, so just sit tight.

How long did it take you after the interview to receive the card in the mail?  Was your case approved right after the Interview ?

-See my signature/timeline. Case agent told us it was approved pending the medical being received from the embassy (took about 7 days)

my husband got a great job offer in Colorado, and we want to move by February 1st. My interview is on November 30th. I’m hoping to have the green card by then so I can move.

-You more than likely will have the green card by then. :)

    Morning everyone,

I have a question. We got married on April 14th :jest:but are waiting on some documents to complete the AOS application.
Can we file Employment approval EAD and just sent that form in prior to completing the AOS?
We went to the Government Agencies and called them as well about getting his ID and Social.
They won't give my husband his SS card without his Work Permit. They won't issue an ID without the SS card. At least he'd be able to start working, he's a Teacher so has been trying to see what can be done for him to apply for employment but the AOS paperwork is pending some of our documents.

    I'm just a bit confused I guess.

    From what I understand:

-Yes, but you pay for that EAD (category A6) and it expires along with the I-94 date (a 90-day EAD you pay for, not good).

-Depending on what state you are in, they might give him a state ID, but it will expire with his I-94.

-SS they should have issued to him (it will say that he is not authorized to work), from what I've read on here in different forums, it just depends on the person at the SS office you talk to. That is why you have to print out the instructions in the SS guide and show to the worker to issue your husband SS based on the appropriate category. BUT, even then, they might STILL not issue SS (again, from what I've read of different members), even  though they should.

-I think that he'll have to sit tight until you file AoS/EAD/AP, because even if you get him EAD (paying the fee for the A6 category) for the period of his 90 day I-94, it cannot be renewed and he will have to wait for the EAD (category C9 "free" one if you file with AoS) to come in. What that means is even if he's working for the 90 day I-94 period under the A6 category, he'll have to wait for the new EAD (C9 category) to come in to start the job again.

Now, I may be wrong, but reading the instructions of the I-765, it says the category A6 cannot be renewed, and I don't know that it can be extended. Maybe someone else can comment on their experience with this. I hope this helps (or is less confusing), if it makes it more confusing: sorry

  6. Initially applied March 20th but it was returned due to “incomplete and/or the credit card information you supplied was denied”. (I included fee for 1225, on a g-1450 form, and have sufficient funds, but I mistakenly put A6 on i-765)

I refiled (category C9 on i-765 and included check for 1225) and uscis received on 4/11.

No word yet and they have yet to cash the check.

  7. Our I-485, I-131, & I-765 packets were retuned/denied because we put the wrong category on the i-765 (we put A2 instead of C9)...

Anyways, they opened the sealed vaccination supplement envelope. It has numbers they put at the bottom of the pages... my question is:

when we resubmit the AoS packets, do we just resubmit the opened I-694 or do I have to go get a civil surgeon to sign off on it again?

Another great CS I found is Dr. Hussain Ali Ronaghy. I was charged $30.

The appointment took 10 minutes and I was able to get one on the same day that I called.

    Address and contact info:

3023 Bunker Hill Street, Suite 106, San Diego, CA

    (619) 275-2700

I went there and picked up the vaccination supplement today.

They still charge only $30 (FOR VACCINATION SUPPLEMENT TRANSCRIPTION ONLY).

(Almost) 8 years later and still a great deal! Thanks!

Yup! That's what they keep telling me! Hopefully that almost all of us from February will hear a decision and a positive one.

Your response to RFE also exceeded almost two week over the normal processing time. Did you send in an inquiry form and is it after that you're receiving a decision?  Did you go through a lawyer or on your own?If you don't mind me asking, what was your RFE for? Lastly,

    Did you receive your letter?

And thanks for your comment. Although I **should** receive a decision sometimes in a few days, it makes me hopeful and it's nice to hear. Thank you for that.

    -No inquiry.

-I had a lawyer file, but they didn't do anything besides file and translate.

-RFE was for lack of evidence (thank you to my lawyer).

    -I got my letter (approved).

Hang in there. It should only be a few more days.

So I called USCIS yesterday and requested to speak to tier 2. But I wasn't able to and The person I spoke to was really nice and helpful. Uscis received my reply to RFE on July 17th even though I sent it in much earlier. They said in order for me or my lawyer to inquire I need to wait 60 days. And usually a response is sent out within 60 days after receiving a RFE. It will be that long on September 14th. As I was saying, I called despite knowing this because I am sure people who are waiting for  NoA2 since February can understand my feelings. The person gave me the info that I already knew in a little bit more detail. She said that the website will update on the 15th or 16th this month and they should definitely send me and most of us a respond.

Thoughts? Advice? Because I know some of you haven't even received a RFE and are waiting from February. What are you anticipating from uscis in the next 7 days?

I think you should get an answer by the 16th of this month (key word: should)... I sent RFE in they received 6/26... Informed delivery says I'm getting a letter today, so I think you'll get something soon since I think they'll be finishing Feb filers by their next report date (9/16).
