You will be totally fine! I went with my husband when he had his interview and they literally asked "How did you two meet?" and he was approved within 2 minutes, tops! I was pretty nervous before hand but we were out and celebrating within 45 minutes after entering the embassy doors! Just go in, be confident and answer truly and you will be fine

Im with you too! My medical is also next Tuesday. I have requested a letter from my GP but have moved medical practices since my last anxiety issues! Mine are both work/bereavement as well and date back to either 2017 or 2014. No ongoing issues and separate occasions! It’s so frustrating that I’m so worried about this causing a problem at the medical!
Anxiety issues shouldn't really be a problem! They worry more about depression because they don't want you to be a danger to yourself.

I would wait until you have the letter. My husband went with a medical history and no letter, and he didn't get medical approval on the spot. We had to send them the letter once we got it and that in itself was about a few weeks!
-
We left about 3 weeks of time in between. Worked out well for us because the consulate received the medical and had it when we actually went for the interview, so we got approved on the spot. Some people do it too close and their medical hasn't even been delivered yet, and they don't get automatic approval.

It's been 4 months for us. But we have just received our interview date for Green Card! So it looks like we will have that before EAD!

How long did it take others to get EAD, AP, and/or text/NOA1? After filing AOS.
We sent off all of ours May 3rd and have heard nothing yet...
It was 5 days after we filed for us! Sent out AOS on the 23rd, got NOA1 on the 28th!
However, the EAD and AP timelines are sooooo backed up that we literally have our Green Card interview before we even received EAD or AP 🤷♀️ This system is weird 😂 not complaining about a green card interview though 😜

Yes, I understand that waiting is dangerous which is why I wanted to go ahead and file. We don't have any accounts together yet so I don't have anything to send besides what is required.
We only sent in what was requested. However, for our interview we are taking joint bank statements, joint lease and so on. You should be fine! We didn't get an RFE for any more evidence needed.
-
Thanks for asking this question because I was wondering the same thing for our upcoming interview! 😂
-
It's a place holder for now! Some people wait months to see "Interview has been Scheduled", while others wait only about a week. We waited 8 days!
-
We had something kind of similar happen to us. When we originally filed, I wasn't working, so we needed a joint sponsor. And I didn't send an I-134 for myself. Just the sponsor. Come to find out that I actually did. So when the RFE came, I was employed at a job making over 125%, but just to be safe we sent both the joint sponsor paperwork and mine as well.
I know that is super confusing so I hope it make sense!
My advice would be to definitely call! But if you don't get any direct answers, use your joint sponsor as well. Better safe than sorry!

We received our interview letter yesterday!!! We are booked for June 11th at 9am! I'm so excited to have something to plan for! 👩❤️👨
-
Nope! I have student loan debt and we were still approved with no problems. As long as you can prove the current income of the US citizen is 125% above the poverty line (and if not have a co-sponsor), you will be just fine

We submitted about 8 photos with our packet. All at different stages in the relationship, so my husband had different hair cuts and beard lengths. But in our case, I was living in England with him at the time. For your case however, I would focus more on things such as ticket stubs of places you've been together, boarding passes, hotel receipts. Just to really prove an on going relationship! Hope that helps!

Hahaha I figured we weren't the only ones! That's good to know, for sure. We don't really have mutual friends right now, because hers are very scattered and I haven't had a chance to meet them, but I'll take photos of our profiles just as extra! Thanks again.
I think you'll be just fine! And no worries! p.s. we are both lucky because we come from low fraud countries. Like other above have said, she's from Canada, so she will be fine!
-
We never ended up getting an employment letter! Just pay stubs, taxes and affidavit of support. And then we totally fine with just that!

Very helpful, thank you! I did not think about it like that. I'll be sure to get screenshots of stuff like that!
Might be a bit of an oddball question... but we use Facebook Messenger for all our contact in recent times. Our usernames on the chat head is set to nicknamed... will that cause an issue in proving that it's us, even though our profile pictures are both set to a different picture we took together?
We used Facebook Messenger screenshots and had nicknames as well! 😂 You should be fine! Especially with the photos being each of you!
Another thing we did was screenshots of our facebook profile pages. Showed we were in a relationship and had mutual friends and pictures together! Might not make any difference, but again, it's a good second layer of evidence!

Thanks! I'll be as detailed as possible about the in-person meeting. I've got some boarding passes from my first trip. My flight there I used an e-ticket, so I'm not sure how much I can get from that. We've got receipts from things while I was there, photos, and I will be sure to date them!
Are messages useful? I could maybe pull up some messages of us talking about the in-person meeting, prior? We shared a lot of excitement about it.
Yes! Definitely use message logs! Just adds another layer of evidence. Especially if it's talking about seeing each other in person soon and dated around the same time to when you went there! My husband and I lived in the same city when we filed but we still put in messages of like me telling him I was on the train to his house, etc! hope that helps!
-
It's not needed but it would help. Even if it is from recent conversations, at least it is more evidence! You can always send other social media platform screen shots as well! But ticket stubs and receipts (proving you have been in the same place multiple times) and photos, you will be just fine!
-
You should be fine! As long as you guys write down exactly how you met and you share some ticket stubs, photos, messages, etc, you should be good to go p.s. make sure to put the date on everything!
-
Really it's just a waiting game. We filed in November and still haven't received AP. And trust me, I think we all understand the feeling of wanting to be able to live your life and plan for the future!
-
As long as your fiancee has a lot of evidence, she should be fine. You don't have to be there for the k-1 visa interview, any US citizen going with their foreign fiance to the K1 visa interview is just there for moral support
How did you ship personal belongings to USA?

My husband and I both moved from London back to my hometown here in California and between us we had 3 suitcases! So not much, but it felt so much better to just buy new things once we got here because it would have cost near enough the same amount to ship things! 😂
