janet3 reacted to Crazy Cat in K1 Visa Marriage Question
"Some folks seems to think that once your visa is approved that you can get married in the Foreign country if you wanted and then enter  the US before the 90 days and legalize that marital union."

A K-1 marriage MUST take place inside the US.  "Those" folks are 100% wrong.  A married person cannot enter the US via a K-1 visa....period.  A fiance must enter the US via the K-1, then marry inside the US within 90 days after entry.

Really?   How many of those couples saw each other once only every 3 or 4 months?   What is most important for most people?  Their marriage or college?

Back from a weekend in Las Vegas. My sister-in-law is visiting for the next month from the UK, and she has never been and wanted to do the drive through the desert, so we obliged. We dropped her off at her hotel to meet up with her dirtbag boyfriend (more on him in a moment) and then spent a blissful weekend doing a lot of nothing except eating and walking around the Venetian where we were staying. He went gambling a couple of times and I gave it a pass, but I did get a full pre-winter body polish/moisturizing. It included a "ritual bath" (lol) which was a very hot bath with some lovely oil and flowers floating in it, along with woo-woo spa music. The bathtub lit up in different colors which was very amusing to me. Then I lounged in a pink "salt grotto" for a while because... I could. More woo-woo music and colored lights in there. Relaxing and dumb and I loved it.

Ranked a tie for lowlight of the weekend: hitting a one hour delay on the 15 West due to a crash at the state line between Nevada and California; and having to deal with the dirtbag boyfriend when he picked my SIL up at our hotel after we'd had lunch together at the Venetian. It sounds like a Dear Prudence or Ask Amy advice column scenario but (deep inhale before I spill this tea about myself) my ex and my SIL have been "dating" for 2 years now. They got together well after he and I split up (as far as I know) and while she knows precisely why I think and her brother thinks this is a terrible idea, they are adults who have known each other many years and I can't do anything about it. We stayed apart the whole weekend until then, but he came to collect her so all four of us got to stand around and be awkward for a few minutes. Well, except my SIL who has no shame about anything and thinks everyone should just move on because it suits her. I don't doubt he really cares for her (2 years is a long time) but him showing up? 100% him trying to provoke a reaction. But no one was anything more than stiffly polite. Well done us.

However there was one moment I enjoyed: my ex has packed on some COVID weight since the last time I saw him. I know, I'm horrible.

After binge-reading this thread and T-Bone's multiple postings about food, I have a massive craving for Spaghettio's +meatballs.
Unfortunately. it's not available in regular stores here so I'd have to order it online and have it shipped...
Won't get here until December... price? USD $13.00 for a 15.6oz can... USD $28 for 4 cans...
Might just splurge and buy 4. Will tell the husband it's my Christmas present to justify the cost.

    Special mini-Mini-B.-talks-with-Daddy report, see man:

Fri. afternoon.  Mini-B. (exiting skool and approaching the T-B.-mobile):  "Freedom!  Freedom from the chains of elementary skool, si man!"

Fri. night, Mini-B. purportedly in bed for the night:  "Dad, si man!"
    T-B.:  What, huh man?
M-B.:  My bed is shaking, si man.
T-B.:  It's probably just the monsters under there, si man.  Go back to sleep, zzz man.
M-B. (bending to look under bed):  Dad, there are no monsters, but a lump there on the bottom, si man!!
T-B.:  What kind of lump, huh man?
M-B.:  Come down here and see it, see man!
T-B.:  We're scared of the monsters, but OK, si man.
[T-B. manages to get down on floor and sees a lump under boxspring, see man]
T-B.:  It IS a lump, si man.
[T-B. pokes warm, soft lump and gets a familiar-feeling claw in return, si man]
T-B.:  It's Miu, si man.  She comes into your bedroom all the time, si man.
M-B.:  How can we get her out, huh man?  She's trapped, si man!
T-B.:  Mius know how to find these spots, si man.  She'll come out on her own, si man.
[After a wait of less than a minute, a tabbyish blur zooms from under bed, see man]
T-B.:  We TOLD you that it was Miu, see man!
M-B.:  Still want to know how she got in there, si man.

Yes, derp about the 15! I always think of it as "west" because I am headed back to the LA area. I had a cool journey on the way there though: 10E-405N-5N-SR14-SR138-SR18-15N.

On the way back it was more boring: 15S (this is where the hourlong tailback was at Primm)-10W (yawn).

What's everyone doing for Thanksgiving? We're going to my sister's place -- she's nearing the end of her second trimester and she has become disturbingly domestic all of a sudden. This is the first year she has ever decided to host. I'm handling roasting a porchetta and making hot chocolate from scratch. Alex is handling booze selections. My sister is roasting a turkey just in case she hates the porchetta (she won't) and making mashed potatoes and smashed potatoes because her almost-a-fiancé (we call him the preancé) prefers smashed to mashed. Mom is making roast broccoli and roast brussels sprouts along with her famous cranberry-jalapeno sauce. Dad's on stuffing duty and I am hoping someone is doing something about dessert because I don't recall this part of the divvying up. My sister-in-law will drop in for a plate and then go back to have dinner with Voldy (my ex/her dirtbag BF) and his mother and a couple of other guests. We've pared down the menu over the years -- used to have 2 kinds of stuffing, candied yams, succotash and green bean casserole on top of everything else, plus at least 3 pies.

It's family so it's bound to be wonderful and irritating!

Nothing going  on here. Not bothering with Thanksgiving again this year. Just me and Herself, and one day is pretty much like any other to her.  Christmas...ditto.

I am off for a few days new year, I have rented a place on the water in Greer's Ferry. The house is too big for just me and the dog, but there is a fireplace and TV, neither of which we have here. 200 feet of river frontage with swans and geese for her to bark at.

    Happy Thanksgiving

We went to my husband's interview and civics test on 11/8/2021. He passed his civics test and interview but the IO asked for proof that we still live together. She wanted a bill with both of our names on it from the time we filed the N400.  I had it in the car. He was inside.  He told her I had them but she said "no...you can upload it". We had to wait on the RFE (it came the following day). We uploaded the "proof" two minutes later and we are now waiting.

Sister-Dave had to go to a conference in Vegas last week. Since she hasn't seen mini-Dave yet, Vegas is in driving distance from San Diego, and mama-Dave's birthday was over the weekend, we kind of hastily put together a meet-up (parents flew to Denver to visit my sister and her husband and kids for a few days, then flew with her to Vegas).

Mini-Dave did not appreciate driving to Vegas, got sick in the car in the middle of huge traffic jam mostly of semis in the fringes of LA exurbs at 10 in the morning on a Wednesday. Fortunately that was the only stretch of bad traffic until Vegas proper (note: driving in Vegas makes LA look sane, and I hate driving in LA).

Random restaurant in the middle of nowhere had a good cheesesteak for me and salad with salmon for PRG but wasn't much on the menu for mini-Dave, fed him some fruit and tried to give him a cheese quesadilla but he didn't like the idea. PRG and I ate the quesadilla instead.
However, he did like running around after a few hours in the car.

Arrived at Airbnb, nice enough townhouse, but promised high chair and crib nowhere to be found (would arrive a few days later, though crib was an off-brand pack-and-play and so too small for the quite tall for a year and a half old mini-Dave, not a full sized crib; fortunately we had a king-sized bed). Parents and sister delighted to see mini-Dave, insisted he was most adorable baby in the world (obviously true).

Fountain at Bellagio is quite cool, walking through smokey casino to get there not so much (walked around outside to get back to car).
Hoover Dam and Lake Mead impressive.
Mini-Dave was as happy chasing ducks and geese at parks in Vegas as he is in San Diego.
Found Italian place in the suburbs not far from Airbnb for mom's 70th birthday dinner, was quite nice.

Since sister and parents flew home on Saturday, we left early Sunday morning. Driving in Vegas significantly less crazy at 8 am on Sunday.
Also, when tired, hungry, and needing to find a bathroom, my ability to navigate the streets of a small town to find a restaurant are apparently significantly impaired. Kept making wrong turns trying to listen to my phone, finally PRG pointed to a Panda Express and said that's fine. Mini-Dave ate Chinese food; did not like Greek from previous night.

Finally returned home safely. Was great to visit family, Vegas not our thing.

    YOur post surprised us all
you can not stay married to both and the US spouse deserves better than someone who cheats

i know  the culture (AND LAWS) of both
and you do not respect either Islamic Laws or US laws
Islamic laws say u need the approval to marry a second wife and court has to see she (by actual proof it is her) ok 's this
and as for Massachusetts ,, it is a felony to marry more than one at a time

    Felony is prison time
and your job posibilites are limited when convicted
only way US is your home now is in a US prison when massachusetts finds out you are quility of bigamy

I always support Moroccans who want a better life whether thru marriage to a USC or Dv lottery or a student or work visa
but what u are asking is support for breaking laws     NO WAY
