So you basically married a MENA "macho man"  4 years younger than yourself and still have the skin to judge others?

The fact of the matter is......some segments in the current us political landscape don't like not only the illegal immigrants, but all immigrants and pick on illegal ones only because legal ones are protected by law.
i believe this is precisely why they decided to make the legal immigration process difficult, barely possible. They chose to be inefficient  because they (USCIS) run on "fees" from us (with 0 legal/political leverage on them)  and not on "taxes" paid by voters. Because that is all they can do (for now).

Check to see if your check or money order was cashed by USCIS, if so USCIS has accepted your i751 application. With physical checks USCIS will indicate the NOA receipt number on the canceled check.
If your application has been accepted but you are waiting for NOA to be produced USCIS customer support should be able to look up NOA number using the petitioners "A" number.

If needed you can get a i551 stamp if proof of LPR status if USCIS sees an i751 is pending. However you should not need it unless you plan to travel, renew a driver's license or new job.

In May it took us 6 weeks for us to get the NOA receipt notice - extension letter. You can make on online service request about the missing NOA receipt notice.

    Hi all,

Just wanted to share something I did not know before. This doesn't only apply to ROC cases but all other cases I guess.

So my ROC online case status changed to "Card was mailed to me" yesterday. I was thinking maybe I can find out what the tracking number is. So I visited www.uscis.gov/contactcenter and clicked on "Ask Emma".

In the chat, I simply typed in "Representative". They then asked for A number of receipt number. I was connected with real person in 5 minutes. He was able to give me the tracking number for my green card, even though the online status is not showing it.

I am sure you can chat about other matters as well.

Please let us know if they were able to give you the stamp without you having the extension letter yet. I'm in the same boat as you. My card expired two days ago. Looking at how things are moving my case is due to get processed any day now, so I'm not sure if I should bother calling USCIS or just wait the one to two weeks until I get my extension letter. The only reason I'm considering calling is that I can't renew my driver's license without proof of immigration status.

Irrelevant. OP is a permanent resident.

33 1/2 years in law enforcement and Ill tell you that as long as your license and registration is valid there will be no questions about your immigration status. Local Police do not have the jurisdiction. It is a Federal Jurisdiction and they seldom pull cars over unless your a target of a federal crime and they know the law and the repercussions of enforcing it wrong  . No need to fear monger, it does not do anyone any good.

Just read the instructions more carefully, you must list them all even if they are US citizens. The fact that you have children together is a strong boost to your application as it is a de facto indication that your marriage is legit (I don't mean those who don't have kids are not legit, though).

I understand that many of us have home countries where police (or anyone with a uniform) are like demigods. But I am not afraid of them, we did not break any rules. They gave us 90 days and we were 8 months pregnant (doctor prescribed bed-rest) when the "window opened" and had a newborn and mom recovering from delivery complications for the next two months. Nevertheless, we filed on time.

Nope, not how it works at all! OP is a permanent resident, not waiting for his petition to be processed. He also filed ROC on time, he just doesn't have the physical extension letter yet. No limbo status whatsoever, fear mongering is not helpful.

It’s analogous to a K-1 filing for AOS after 90 days. Several  on VJ advocate doing this.  It’s all fine until the police pull over your car in a traffic atop.  And we know what happened in that incident, or do I need to provide the link?

Yes it is a limbo status not unlike Schrödinger’s cat. Until the I-751 is received, opened, and acknowledged by USCIS the authorities only have the word of OP that the I-751 was sent on time.
  16. Thanks

Not in a limbo status, still a permanent resident. No need to fear monger.

Redundant to cite, since OP's case arrived at the lockbox within the 90-day window. See 8 CFR § 103.2(a)(7)(i): "USCIS will consider a benefit request received and will record the receipt date as of the actual date of receipt at the location designated for filing such benefit request whether electronically or in paper format."

Info pass is only valid for a year though, while the extension letter is for 18 months. And you don't have to go in person for extension letter! You should get your letter once you reach out to either your senator or the Ombudsman office. Lots of people have that experience Good luck!

I would rather you have the letter on hand in case you need it for whatever reason. Your senator's office can help too. I was stuck back in April when they had all the office closures and my letter didn't come till June. It was very frustrating!

I spoke to an USCIS agent yesterday regarding my I-751 package. I was calling to figure out:

    1. where I'm currently at in this process.
    2. if the facility filed my petition yet.
    3. the procedures I'll need to follow since my GC expires next month on the 15th - I'm currently going through the hiring process with a new employer (interference with work authorization?)

I informed the lady that the package was received on their end on November 16th, 2020. I have not yet received anything for confirmation. She said she couldn't locate my paperwork in the system, meaning that they have not processed yet. Per this lady, the current timeline is about a month behind. Due to my current situation, she suggested that I schedule for an info pass. She said that this would provide a documentation to prove that I'm a lawful resident and my paperwork in currently being processed. I've been put in to the que for an appointment within the next seven business days.

Not sure if this is what everyone else is doing but I was suggested to do this yesterday.

Omg you are brilliant. I had the same question, can I still work while waiting on NOA1. Because I have a feeling my GC will expire before I get the notice. I've been calling and asking people, and no one could give me a clear answer lol If you dont mind me asking, How do you schedule an info pass appointment?

You could try reaching out to the Ombudsman office if you can't get USCIS to respond in a timely manner. https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance

So you can actually start the application process online and enter all your information.  It will ask you all your timeline info, marriage date, green card info, foreign travel, etc, and then tell you when you are eligible to apply for citizenship.
