@TD6886 Can this only be done at the 2 places listed on the Vietnam Embassy website. Since she lives in the south, she'll need to go to Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control and start from scratch and possibly titer like @Boiler mentioned, since she lost her immunization records?

For vaccines, you can go to either of two locations authorized by embassy:

    • Trung tâm Kiểm soát Bệnh tật Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh
40 Nguyễn Văn Trỗi, Quận Phú Nhuận, Tp. Hồ Chí Minh – Điện thoại (84-28) 3844 5306
    • Bệnh viện Đa khoa Hồng Ngọc – Hà Nội
      55 Yên Ninh, Quận Ba Đình, Hà Nội – Điện thoại: (84-24) 3927 5559 – 7305 8880

Since your fiancé from Hau Giang, why not just go to  the first location and get everything done ?

Hello everyone, hope you are all well!

I have been searching high and low on the forum for a topic with a similar question I have now, and I couldn't find it.

My apologies in advance, in case I overlooked it. 🙈

    A bit of info:

My fiancé lives in Florida, I live in the Netherlands. Consulate will be the one in Frankfurt, Germany (Amsterdam stopped Visa operations as of May)

Our petition got approved on March 29th. Our Noa2 expiry date is 4 months later, July 28th.

Naturally we started collecting needed documents soon after, however, we encounterd some delays in waiting times for those to arrive.

Also, the consulate seems to want all original paperwork Plus copies of it send to them in packet 3.

Therefor my fiancé has to send me his original I-134 form, with signature in ink.

It shouldn't take all too long, I think, so I wasn't worried at first.

Today, April 26th, I checked up on the visa status (CEAC) and it said Ready!

Overjoyed of course, but now also slightly nervous because I feel we aren't ready in the sense of our documents not being here yet.

With that comes that I do not know how long Mailing everything will take from USA to me, and then from me to the consulate, let alone their time needed to review the documents.

    My question now is this:

Do I have to attend my interview before the expiry date?

    or

Can the interview take place after it expired, as long as the appointment was scheduled before it expired?

To be clear, I think we will have everything ready well in time, I also know I could apply for the approval to be extended. Is that something I could already do, just to be sure?

Thankful for all answers given and any information provided! :)

    Love, Rosa

No need to worry. The expiration will be automatic extended by CO.

  3. Just helping my wife submitted two  I-130 for sister/half-sister. The first case was easy and solid since it was the same mother and father. However, the second case is little bit complicated:  mother is the same, but father is different. A side note: all the parents(all 3) are passed away long time ago. For the second case, beside the birth cert that showing the same mother, what's else do we need to submit to prove the relationship?

    Hi,

Does anyone have an example of a relationship timeline that the Consulate Officers in HCMC are expecting for the K-1 Visa interview? I don't want to bore them with a 5+ page essay but at the same time I would want to be as detailed and concise as possible as to not receive a denial slip. Also, does anyone know if they are accepting additional photos and evidence (receipts, gifts, rings) during pre-check-in on the day of the interview? I am hoping to make another trip before the interview and will like to submit engagement and post-engagement photos.

    Thank you!

There is no specific example since each case is different.

Hello, I live in California, USA and am marrying my Vietnamese fiance who lives in VN. We both are Catholic and are required by our church to do a marriage course. She will do the marriage course at her local church and I need to find a course for myself. However, the requirements by my local USA church are too demanding for me because I don't have very much time to commit to attend long sessions at the church. Do you guys know if there are online options available? Is this related to Pre-cana? Please help me! Thank you so much everyone!

Did you fly back to VN to getting married?

You may already be considered married in the view of the embassy rendering the k1 void. Not sure of this particular embassy but others have considered an engagement party as already married.

In Vietnam culture, engagement party or " Dinh Hon" is not married. The party is simple that family on both side have a small chats, introduce, and agree for their son/daughter can go further with the relationship.

    Hello

My husband is a US citizen and we are looking to move to the US. I am a Canadian Citizen and will be applying for a green card using form I-130. My question is do I need to apply for a green card for our children also or is their a different visa they need. To note my husband is a citizen born abroad which is why he cant just pass citizenship on to our kids

Check with consulate first before submit I-130 for the kids. US citizens born abroad doesn't means that you can't not pass to to child.

My fiancé and I know each other for 4 years, we talked everyday, we traveled throughout VN and to Thailand. I traveled to VN every year, 2/year. We meet the elders on each side. We provided details Comm.Logs, Pictures, air tickets....we prepared detail evidence after engagement ready to show them during the interview - and they even deny seeing it, just take the copy for taxes

We followed the list of documents the Embassy asked. I checked all the papers the Embassy send and no where they asked for a family tree form - except in this forum? what is a family tree form? why do one needed? and during the interview they didn't asked for it. if I understand previous common correctly, we need family tree form because someone introduce their children to my fiancé?

Yes, it's a "country norm" for K1, and 95% you will be ask for this "Family tree" if you're K1 applicant. The embassy will not tell you about it because it's come from experience of the members from Vietnam's group. Anyway, just fill out the form as much as you can and submit it and wait.

Common for your consulate.   You may need to marry and reapply after you have more time spent together.

This RFE is "common" in Vietnam, which is called "Family tree" and it caused by a reason: family's members introduce someone in VN to their son, brother, or sister. The form they asked for is "family tree" worksheet. Look like the OP not doing their homework since they not bring a "family tree" at the interview.

The intention is not to obtain the visa; rather, it's aimed at expediting the I130 approval process. While researching in a Facebook group, I came across posts from individuals asserting that it accelerated their process successfully:

That individual is a rare case, maybe 1 out of 10000? Technical, yes you can try and it up to you, but no one can assured a quick outcome.

I'm not the agent. I won't know but what I'm telling you happen 3 weeks ago.  Just like when you enter the usa, you present your previous boarding pass to the CPB.

Again. Unless you enter that country with Visa, they can ask for a round trip ticket to make sure you going back to home country. However, you now already have a Vietnamese passport and enter Vietnam as a VN's citizen, so there is no point to ask for a round trip ticket(unless they want some coffee money.). The same thing when you enter USA with US passport.

Never ask for your airline ticket? Are you sure? They asked for mine 3 weeks ago

You're enter Vietnam as a Vietnamese's citizen, so what the point of asking for the ticket?

Vietnamese passport at Vietnamese immigration despite the English name on my ticket

Vietnam immigration never ask for it because you admit as a Vietnamese citizen.

Yeah i have no interest in becoming a Citizen so wont be filing for Naturalization, I'm just spending a few years here and then moving my wife and myself back to my home country.

I hope filing the N-400 isn't what kickstarts the I-751 process after long periods of silence otherwise I'll be waiting a long time indeed.

If your home country allow dual citizen, then go ahead apply for N400.
