Another option to consider is to buy a car with a loan and then receive periodic payments that you immediately use to pay the loan. That could help you from having too much money in your accounts to cause an issue. Just make sure there are no penalties for repaying the loan early.

Use paper clips, or better yet use binder clips (especially for larger documents). They will have to remove staples and stuff, so using staples just makes things harder for them and they might rip something.

Photos are secondary evidence of having met at least once within the past 2 years. By themselves, they don't meet the requirement in most cases. In conjunction with other evidence, they are useful.

I don't think anybody was encouraging to not send any photos...just pointing out that photos are not a technical requirement. Personally, because I am aware of USEM's processes, I only included one photo of us...and I 100% believe it didn't do anything meaningful for our case. We were approved for the I-129F and K-1 fine. For certain other embassies, doing this is fine for the I-129F but is otherwise visa suicide.

Exactly - the photos corroborated the primary evidence (the dated receipt), which is very good.
The text logs likely yielded little to no consideration for this requirement.

Yeah, some photos are good to include...although what you should do is very different from a requirement.

It's not that I'm being very technical, what you said was factually incorrect. You stated it as a fact, and it was incorrect.

And pictures are in fact consodered to be weaker proof than the other forms of evidence. There is no way for the officer reviewing them to know for sure when it was taken. However the other forms of evidence would contain dates that actuall demonstrate when the even occurred.

This is incorrect. There is no requirement to submit pictures.

The requirement is to prove that you have physically been together in the same place within the last 2 years. Pictures are actually very weak proof. Things such as rental contracts, receipts, plane tickets, etc are much better evidence and pictures can help support those.

Pictures are recommended, but they only act as secondary supporting evidence to the other things that you provide.

A small difference (within a month) or so would probably be fine. But you are talking about almost 2.5 months between those documents and the oldest will be almost 3 months old by the time you actually apply. I would make new ones if I were you. Just have your fiancé print, sign, scan, and email back to you.

I clicked on this thread to say the same. You can even do DCF for a spousal visa in the Philippines. Takes a few months. Your wife will then be a permanent resident (green card holder) the second she arrives and can start work, drive, etc immediately. No adjustment of status, no time spent in limbo with no real status and... it's much cheaper!

I think youre crazy wanting to do a K-1 in your situation.

No it is not fraudulent if they already entered the us and then decided to marry and adjust. Intent is established at the poe. It would have beeen visa fraud it they had entered with this intention. In this case the op says that is not the situation.

But I agree with you that this is not much time and the officer may take more convincing if/ when there is an interview (and I'm betting that in this case there would be an interview).

As danda226 suggested, see if you are eligible for direct consular filing (DCF), this would be the fastest and easiest option if it is available.

if it isn't an option, then you can apply, but it will likely be easiest if you can use a mailing address in the us, perhaps your parent's address. You can still list your address in turkey as your physical address, just use the us address for mailing purposes.

in either case you will need to read up on "domicile". Hopefully you have maintained "domicile" in the us, otherwise read up on "intent to reestablish domicile in the us". This will be important as you get closer to the interview stage of the process (so you have some time to work this out). Basically they want to see that you will both move to the us, and that your husband isn't going and you will stay behind in turkey.

Something else to note, while you have been continuing to file taxes in the us? Or were you below the threshold for needing to file? If you were required to file and did not, then this will also become an issue as you get closer to the interview, so you should start straightening that out now while you have time.

Technically yes that would be allowed. Mostly they are looking at evidence of financial commingling, etc.

However, you have only known this person for about 2 months. Are you absolutely certain that you are ready for this? Why not take your time and eventually do a fiancé or spousal visa when you are both ready?
