I actually called 15days ago and they gave me an SR number. Till now, it hasn't been assigned yet for processing. That is why I decided to call and this time, requested for a Tier 2 officer. I might resort to seeking help from our Congressman, like you suggested. Thanks!

If you have booked halls and things then it is sounding more like a traditional wedding than a party. hence my previous question, why risk it? What is more important to you? The family in India can wait for a traditional wedding.
 
Look, we are only telling what what we have seen here on VJ. There have been people denied K1 visas for such ceremonies. Do a search and you will find many cases. There is even a member here that got questioned and almost denied because she was a bridesmaid or something in a family member's wedding and the CO saw the pic accusing her of already being married.
 
I have only read of one time where a CO investigated a case of someone by interviewing a neighbor from a beneficiaries town so i can't say it will never happen.
 
Yes, you will find agents, lawyers, and such who will say it is fine but do a quick search on this site and you will find first hand account of how people were denied for having a ceremony.
 
In the end it is your decision, I just don't believe in given them any ammunition to deny you.
 

Can you 100% be sure that not a single person at your event will post anything on social media?
Will the invitations that are being sent out be wedding invites? 
How can you be sure not a single person at your wedding will believe it's not a wedding and tell everyone they know they went to your wedding? You can't stop what others will post of think.
It doesn't matter if this is done after visa is in hand as the at POE they will also question about your wedding plans. If on entry they see anything that looks like a wedding ring they can deny entry. If they find any posting on social media they can deny entry. 
 
I was even asked if my husband was there with me. I quickly answer that my fiance was there with his mom to help us move. They do try to trip you up at times and if I simply said yes he right there. They could have denied me entrance and voided my K1 visa. They don't need proof of marriage all they need is to think you may have gotten married and your toast.

I take back my post as I realize while it might have worked for some for reasons as simple as that they never questions much about it, it might prove to be wrong for others. You can go the simpler safer route and be truthful. Wish you luck

Mine only said one was in production but we got the combo card in the mail!! Hope this gives you some peace of mind

I guess AP normally take longer time to process, so the officer did't allow you raise SR for AP. Since you apply EAD and AP together  they will most likely get approved at the same time.
I had the same experiences like you. When I called USCIS about my EAD passed the 90 days mark, the officer said it will be processed soon. 90 days is just a goal for processing EAD. So I was hoping I can raise a SR for AP.  The officer wasn't very helpful. He didn't help raising another SR for EAD or AP. He said AP is within regular processing time. And I called again the next day to request to speak to a tier 2 officer. She helped me to raise the second SR for EAD with expedite request. EAD and AP got approved in a week. Good luck!

So my online case update thing is always late. I went to my interview on October 16th. It was after my interview i got all these updates. Before the only thing that was there was that they received my documents. 

I'm an aug filer with receieved date 2 Aug. We reached 90 days checkpoint today.. and now stress levels are getting higher... same status 'Case received and 'fingerprint fee received' for the last 2 months! 
Hoping to receive some news soon!
@Chloe 2015 They usually send a response saying RFIE received. But your delivery is signed so dont worry. Just make sure the address was correct. Maybe calling uscis again will help. Online status updates are unreliable. Wait for mail. Good luck

Finally, my EAD/AP card arrived and it was not even on my informed delivery notification. Thank God!!

This is ALL very good information.  Thank you all.  We are going to be using her married name on all the documents, and just see what happens.  I am so happy that this community exists.  

It might vary by state - but i asked the officer in the courthouse at the time of marriage registration as well as time of getting the marriage certificate. 
I was told that this will always have the maiden name since that is the original identity of the person who got married that day. the name change technically and logically happens AFTER the marriage certificate is issued. (This is in Illinois)
 
Couples can check their marriage certificates for these options if any - such as putting the name after marriage on the marriage certificate itself if their state has it. 

Yes thats what its saying. So im suggesting thats there's no need for the court name change etc.. just use whatever name she likes (FN MN LN or just FN LN) on these forms. The marriage certificate will act as a proof of this. 
Note : This essentially means that the married name appears for the first time ever on these forms itself written by you. These are the first documents with the married name. In addition, she can also get a name change on the SSN meanwhile. (This will take 7-10 days max)  

When filling out the AOS paperwork just put the last name she wants to use following your marriage. I did and had no problem, my EAD & Greencard arrived in my new married name.
 
Drivers license etc all updated when they were renewed.
Sure I had to change my passport but that was no big deal

Hey! firstly congrats on the wedding  and after talking to some lawyers and other experienced people in this field, I have concluded that its really not necessary to change the name at the time of marriage. (many girls dont do it, and its absolutely ok and understandable) 
is the wife in your case wanting to chnage her name or only wanna do it cos of the filing? if so you can choose to delay it later and change the name based on the marriage certificate later anytime and get a new SSN (SSN num remains same, theyll just chnage the name on it) 
 
And just a clarification - the name on the marriage certificate IS ALWAYS the MAIDEN name. NOT the married name. So dont worry. Just use the married name by default whatever name you wanna have after marriage in your forms. 
You marriage certificate will act as a proof of all that. If the girl puts husbands last name as hers, officers just look at marriage certificate to confirm. 
Thats about it. 
 
Meanwhile you can go to SSN office to change it. Thats better than court
