  1. I am sure this has been asked here before but after doing multiple searches , I have not found the solution. I am preparing documents for Packet 3 (even though NOA1 is Dec 17') and one of the requirements is "Evidence of petitioner’s domicile in the United States." I (Petitioner) live with my parents here in the US (due to traditions). They own the home I stay at.

What evidence can I show prove my domicile in the US in relation to my living situation? Does someone have a sample letter they can point me to that discusses the "living with parents" situation?

    Thanks in advance!!

When I went to the mailbox, I found the NOA2!  No update on USCIS app.  August 8th filer approved February 6th.  The moral of the story is you might already be approved even if it still says “Received.”  Don’t lose hope!

So you are telling me even after all the updates on Friday, you still did not get a update on the app yet got your NOA2? SWEET!!

Is there still no update to the app when you search your number? This goes to show they are approving even more cases than the case updates that happened in the past few days. Many may not even know they got approved until they get NOA2.

Whoops! I forgot to mention too, the 8 business days that I mentioned came from a lot of profiles that I saw and counted the days using a calendar. I saw many that were like 8 business days at the most.

I know, this is insanely draggish and slow. The most frustrating part is we should've been at this step end of December / beginning of January. You'd think there would be some courtesy in the sense of...the USCIS held our applications for no reason at all before sending them to the NVC...so some kind of expediting would be appreciated....... Here at my job, if we get backlogged we make sure we offer overtime to employees to try to catch up, especially if we have delays/causing delays and we're behind.

A couple people updated their timelines this week and have February 28th for the interview (saw 2 timelines updated Wednesday and yesterday), both of them have Interview dates for February 28th. From what I read, the K1 interviews are done on Wednesdays and are about 3 weeks out from getting Packet 4. Sooo, if we hear something next week, 3 weeks from them will be a March 7th (Wednesday) interview date. I think we might get lucky and -possibly- be able to get the Feb 28th date, but then that gives us 2 weeks to get the medical done plus results in hand, which will be tight timing because the medical doctors all say to give them up to 2 weeks to have the results.

Question. When you say "medical doctors all say to give them up to 2 weeks to have the results", do you mean the doctors from the medical interview? I thought that the medical happens a few days before the main interview. Why 2 weeks?

Just got off the phone with my attorney regarding backlog and rfe's , last year the current administration sent new guidelines to the department of homeland security regarding ALL visa petitions. USCIS was told to review each petition a 2nd and a 3rd time before issuing an approval. He also said his office hasn't received 1 rfe in last 2000 cases and seems to think most of these rfe's within the last 8 months are being issued to people that filed the petition themselves. USCIS were sent a new set of guidelines 8 months ago and they been going by those, so prior to 8 months ago things would have been approved faster than what the current rate is now due to the change in how things are approved. Which bothers me because if someone sends in the correct information, evidence and meets ALL the requirements of the I-129F petition for K1 then should be approved no matter what the new guidelines say. If one meets the requirements then by all means approve them if the both background checks are in order.

I will not vote for this administration next time around.

But Ive received NO instruction whatsoever from the Consulate. Is it ok to go ahead of them??

I would call the Consulate to ask is it OK to send them because you already have your number. I have read on this website that some people send Packet 3 ahead of time and they have no problem.

I also just saw my status change to "Ready" on CEAC but have not received a letter or email from the Consulate.

How did it work for those you have heard from the Consulate? Letter in the mail or email?

Should I pay the Visa Fee now and book an interview or wait??

    Thanks!

I would think you need to Submit "Packet 3" first (https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf) . Once this is submitted via email, you will get Packet 4 which will give instructions on how to schedule medical and interview.

We are now outside of "normal processing times".  I've contacted my congressman (twice), called USCIS Tier I dozens of times, called USCIS Tier II and had Tier II call backs 6 times.  I have 3 active inquiries.  My congressman will file another on February 12 if we dont hear anything.  The only information I've seen so far is that we have not yet been assigned to an adjudicator.  Neither of us has a record and I already have security clearances at the Federal and State level for consulting work I do.

This story needs to be definitely turned into a movie! With agents raiding the CSC to find your case file!

    Noa2 on January 24...

Then NVC received it February 1st?!

You guys said it would take like 50 days. Did we get insanely lucky?

    Times are much faster now.

  8. When I googled CEAC Tracker , it shows this on Google for a cahched page "On Saturday, February 03, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. (Washington, D.C. time), CEAC applications will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. Maintenance is expected to be completed by 9:00 p.m., but might be extended beyond this time. If you try to access CEAC during this time, you will receive an error message."

It could be that the maintenance got extended

Guessing his intent was to stay all along. How does one just miss a flight and not book another if he had true ties like a job? lease or mortgage ? etc?

Exactly what I am thinking. Plus, isnt it visa fraud coming on a tourist visa, staying in the US, and doing AOS based on marriage? The CO may see this as a "hidden intent" that you came to "visit" the same person you married. You basically are cutting in line for all those that do K-1.

For anyone who’s interested, there’s a great page in the resources section( I think that’s what it’s called) of Vj in which they interviewed a former uscis employee who himself was going through the visa process for his spouse. They discussed everything from the process applications go through to general questions people have. I’ll post the link if anybody is interested.

il be interested in looking at it. can you please post it. Thanks!!

Hi everyone, I am new to site but have been following this thread for a while now since we are a July filer as well.

Our NOA1 July 26th and today 2/2 it says on the website that our case was approved. I hope everyone is getting their approvals also for it has been a stressful process. I am a little more blessed that my fiance is here with me in the US with a tourist visa since December (but under very sad circumstance, he came because my mom was severely ill and had passed :( ) He has not left me since. I just want to say that all our patience will bear fruit. just hang in there and know that I am praying for all of you to get this processed finished as well.

Congrats! Where is your fiancee from?
