  1. Additional to that question above. When it asks in question "My annual income is", is this the gross salary or salary after taxes?

For the "I Intend/Do not intend to make specific contributions to support of the person(s)", I did not select any and instead wrote in the additional information (part 7) "N/A (Filing I-129F for my fiancee to begin K1 Visa process for permanent residence)". Is this OK?

Came home for lunch and am listening like a hawk for any sound of mailbox opening happening.  Sadly, I don't think my mail carrier will be here until later on this afternoon, though, which means I won't get any news until I'm home after 6PM (EST).

Slowest few hours of my life...but at least I'm not about to puke anymore!  :D

Take time to prepare/look over  documents for the interview :)

I can’t wait either. Sometimes I wonder if it will ever happen!!!  I know it will. I am just so happy for you.

Stay Optimistic (I know it's hard to say it since you have been waiting so long). One thing you said before makes me smile. How Rose and you consider this a small part of a larger lifetime together.

I've been thinking about doing med school. I work as a CPA right now & seeing what the nurses do kind of looks intriguing. If I were go into medicine, I wouldn't know where to start. I just know I want to do some kind of alternative medicine- natural healing kind of stuff.

You can work on healing those on this forum that have waited so long for uscis approval. :D

Day 40 and counting! Onwards and upwards.

Keeping busy is the best way forward. Get everything ready for NOA-2. What do you need to take to the interview. Collect pictures, chats, receipts, tickets ect. Fill out the forms and find out what vaccinations you still need to get for the medical. Go through the house and decide what you want to bring and how. In case of pets, look what vaccinations they need and what airliner can carry them. Research what needs to be done after we the wedding. What do you need for the AOS. How to get a drivers license. What jobs you'll be looking at. Maybe start making some friends while being over there.

I am so ready for NOA-2 and yet I know I am not. There's still so much that needs to be done. How did people do this back when they only had 6 weeks to prepare for NOA-2?

I know huh? Maybe the uscis relaxed that 6 weeks to prepare for noa2 was too little and thus started delaying NOA2s :clock:

Finally a letter from from NVC and good news.   We've approved your request for expedited processing of your immigrant visa application. The National Visa Center sent your petition to this U.S. Embassy for their action. The Embassy will contact you soon to schedule a visa interview.   I am very happy.

This is good news. What was the basis for your expedite request?

Did you send the request to the NVC directly or through USCIS?

My fiancée is a US citizen.. I am the beneficiary from Canada :) I have been reading on visa journey that people send the email for packet 3 once the status of the case from NVC changes to "Ready". I think I will wait a week before sending it as I am gathering documents for packet 3.

That is great that it can be submitted early before formally getting notified by the consulate.

You can fill out the DS-160 completely, and you can book your medical.  It wont let you book the interview at embassy until the DS-160 shows as "Ready", but you can do the rest.

Question: Is this true for every embassy that you can fill your DS160 before getting formal notice to do so by the Consulate?

Alright I wanted to update this in case someone else is looking for information. So, after an extensive search I found out that if you are not a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident you need to get a full background check with fingerprints. You cannot get a simple name and date of birth check.

So what you need to do to proceed is actually quite simple. You need to hire a third party company that will do the work for you. There are plenty out there and the best, simplest, fastest, and more comprehensive one I found is Fingerprint Room. What you need to do is go on their website download and fill all of their forms. Then print the fingerprint one and go to your local police station with the form and tell them you need to be fingerprinted for foreign visa purposes, and ask them to fill the form out for you. After you do that you scan all your forms and email to FR and snail mail it too. They start processing as soon as they receive your email and the turnaround time for the police certificate is 2 weeks including shipping.

The only down to this is that it’s quite costly, $250 but it includes everything. But what else isn’t costly in this process and it saves you from spending money by having to go to Canada to have this done. So much cheaper than a plane ticket.

Here’s the link to their website: http://www.thefingerprintroom.com/en-home/forms#formblock936

I hear the Commissionaires is much faster (7 to 10 day turn around) and is also cheaper ($75 CAD) - This is for the fingerprint version. If you are debating if name check will suffice, I would say get fingerprints to ease your worries. You cant go wrong with doing the fingerprints.

What do you mean? They just normal custom questions. I’m on the flight right as I’m typing this so I’ll let you know!

For sure. My fiancee is from Canada and they have customs there at the airport before leaving for the states. I assume you will pass customs when you land in the US, correct? If so, I would he interested if they ask you any questions in regards to the K1.

Yeah you do follow me! I’m on my way now to the airport. Flying out to the states to stay for a week! I’m super stressed out about it too. It’s took too long for the NOA2! I’m getting super impatient! This forum helps me out a lot too. How was your trip to England? :D

were you questioned at all when entering the states? what evidence did you bring?

I won't lie, I'm getting jealous of all the approvals. I know my time will come, it's just harder to be patient now. Haha.

But seriously, congratulations to everyone with your approvals. We have all waited a long time and you deserve it!

You telling me. I'm a  Dec 1 NOA1 lol. but reading others getting approval in mid July dates is a good feeling. they are working faster than the past 2 to 3 months at the uscis.

I hate to rub salt of those waiting on NOA2.......... but now that  many of us are moving passed the NVC, the question all us newbies are wondering: Can we do medical and DS-160 before we get the letter from the Embassy? I got my NVC case number today and I don't want to wait around for 2-3 weeks for NVC to Embassy and Embassy to Me if I can be doing something to prepare in the meantime!

And yes I know it is embassy specific, but I'm hoping some of you can share experience/insight for us in the dark;)

And yes. I'm a Warsaw guy

Does anyone know if Canada (Montreal) allows for DS160 and checklist for packet 3 to be sent back to the Montreal Consulate before packet 3 is officially sent by mail? Trying to find ways expedite the process once I get my NVC case number.
