it's up to 7-8 months now? it was 5-6 less than half a year ago, and 3-4 months before that.
Jesus Ciudad Juarez/USCIS, please get it together.

Dianalorena got a reaction from Ben & Katy in Husband and I are divorcing, worried. What's next?
Unfortunately, my husband and I have decided to get a divorce. We fought hard to make it work and tried our best,  but we want very different things and show love in very different ways.
He has serious panic attacks/depression and insecurities that got progressively worse and ultimately he broke my trust by going out with a girl that he met on Tinder, He came clean and we tried yet again by him moving out for a few weeks, and during that time he realized he wants to date her. I won't bore you with the details. Even if I'm hurt we want to do things as amicable as possible since we know this is ultimately for the best.  Married for over two years, but removing conditions in 2020.
    Questions are:

Do I file for divorce in the U.S even though we got married in Mexico? Is it possible?

Do I file to remove conditions after the divorce is final without waiting for 2020?

what type of evidence should I send? We have a lease together,  e-mails back and forth discussing what happened,
I read that I need a letter explaining the reason, but I'm worried still. Is it time to hire a lawyer?

    thank you

Diana I'm so sorry.  It took forever for you to get here and now this.   ***hugs***
Now onto your most recent question.  You do not need to include any reason as to why you're divorcing.  You just need to show you entered into the marriage with genuine intent.  Anything that show you co-mingled finances and lived together is good for ROC.

Some of my friends locally here in Arizona that are going through the ROC said that once the paperwork is filed they send you a letter that says, "you have been granted an 18 month extension to live, renew DL, work, travel in/out of the US until they can find a way to get their &&^% together. "  This is much better than what the ROC people from a year or two ago went through where they didn't get the extension letters until they were out of status while waiting for the ROC.

I've been wanting to write this for SO long!

After 10 and a half months stuck at Nebraska, two months in NVC and almost six months waiting after our CC to get an interview, it finally happened!

My interview appointment was stressful. There even was a point where the supervisor approached the officer and they closed the microphone. I thought I was going to faint. My case was a bit complicated and it looked weird on paper, but after explaining what happened things started to get a little better. Overall it took me 3 hours (two hours waiting and one hour of questioning!) but I fully understood it's their job and they just had to make sure everything was in order. Everyone was very nice and professional, and even being Juarez I've never felt unsafe. I have honestly nothing but nice things to say about the U.S consulate and even though the process is incredibly draining if you play by the rules and follow the requirements it's not that bad.

561 days of documents, tears, long distance, money (oh, the money) the uncertainty. It was incredibly worth it just for this moment! to hug my husband waiting for me outside and dance with my little green paper.

Thank you SO much, everyone, for helping me throughout the process. I couldn't have done it without you, since you helped me not only be prepared for the process but stay sane after it kept taking longer and longer. I am also aware it didn't take as long as others and it wasn't the most complex situation, so I'm counting my blessings and I feel very lucky that overall things went smoothly and I get to drive back with my love to Texas and start our lives together, almost two years after getting married yet so ready to start from scratch as newlyweds.

I wish you all the best on your journey! you deserve to experience the same joy I'm experiencing.
    ❤️ Lorena

my green card arrived!... to the old address   even after updating our address in August.
we are now also filing the AR-11 because obviously, that obscure form is what you need on top of changing your address online.
just hoping they won't charge us 450, They haven't destroyed the green card, but they can say it was our fault
for not filing multiple, redundant ways of changing our address even though nothing we read ever mentioned this. silly us.

social security number: wasn't even assigned to me even after marking ''yes'' but I knew this was very likely to happen.
I had to do it myself at the office and the card should arrive in aprox. 10 days. because they can't tell me the number over the phone,
and I refuse to go to the office again, that is where dreams go to die.

Hey everyone! sorry I've been away.

It's been two months since I entered the U.S and I'm adjusting for the most part.
work has thankfully kept me busy, I'm making clients, taking some art courses.
But two months in, neither my social security or green card have arrived, naturally.
I'm going to the office on Monday. Can't start building credit without it.
Why is nothing remotely efficient when it comes to immigration? Jesus.

other than that, things are great with the mister flaco, we rented an adorable
1940's house in a good part of Austin and we've been spending a lot of quality time finally.
he is compensating for those two years of long distance by being incredibly attentive,
sweet and romantic so I can't complain!

    how are you, guys?

Two months in, I decided I was no longer going to wait to get my social card. I called and was only told to ''keep waiting''
    sounded eerily familiar 😛
Knowing the U.S immigration system it meant it was probably not arriving any time soon, or in this case, not at all.

A very nice gentleman told me a number hadn't even been assigned, thankfully I brought my birth certificate +passport
he told me it would arrive in approximately two weeks, and that I could call and try to get the number, but they might not provide it.

My green card is lost as well, hasn't arrived. *shrugs* welcome to America!

I'm moving to a new shop, saving up and I've been enjoying my time with the hubby,
excited about my first thanksgiving !

Here, one state over from TX, we're enjoying the Autumn and the final week of the M-I-L's stay. That was one fast 2.5 months. La Colombiana turned 40 yesterday. She took it in stride since she was surrounded by friends and family, and the celebration included much dancing, alcohol, and especially cake.
