Just wanted to update everyone. I filed on Aug 25, had an interview September 30th and was sworn in the same day.

Potentially but I think it's not too common to get approved on the spot. I think generally they take a couple of days before you'll get a decision since the officer will probably speak to their supervisor and so on.

QUICK UPDATE:
I spoke with the producers assistant and she said that they will forward my situation to their networks legal department. Perhaps they can modify the contract to fit my situation better. Either way, it's worth a shot. She also mentioned filming will also take place in July so if my EAD is obtained by then (which hopefully it will be) they could schedule our filming around that month.
 
I haven't signed anything yet as I do not want to be responsible for breaching a contract but we'll wait and see.

The Producer may want them on the show because they are fun, good looking and can amend the clause to whatever. Just because no-one has asked does not mean you do not give it a go.
 
Only issue is TV advertising and channel paying for syndication, any Producer would let them in and play them until the "final" ..... then they would lose and be given a donation to charity of their choice ,,,, the public are fools and will buy the line.

This person is completely WRONG and appears they are applying the rules for applying for K1 VISA to when AOSing from one... and they aren't the same. Actually those might be the I-130 rules while in the US, or maybe the K3 rules or something.. just because of the reference to wedding pics....
Again, as a K1 AOS applicant you DO NOT NEED to submit anything like the PP wrote. Not to mention, the reference to owning your own home being good evidence is ludicrous. They don't care as long as you live together.
Also it is important to remember that some countries have higher fraud rates and are looked at more closely both when applying for the Visa, and AOSing.

Packet 4 for Montreal is sent the same for both K-1 and spousal. That's why they make sure to put "For Fiance Visa" in parenthesis next to the I-134. The I-864 is essentially needed for all visa's NOT in the parenthesis next to I-134.
i-134 is K-1.
I-864 is AOS and Spousal Visas.

I'll reiterate for you that he won't change. I went back after getting a civil protection order against my first husband. He was great at gaslighting (google it if you don't know what it is). Two years later he threatened to kill me, sell our unborn child into slavery, and kill himself. I was sure that day that he would do it too if we didn't get divorced. He is perfectly charming and even pleasant to talk to when he is getting his own way, but cross him and the storm is unleashed. Sometimes even I forget that he can also be absolutely terrible.
A few years after that, he was arrested for stalking and physically harming another woman. Before me, there were two others that he got away with for being underage despite some pretty grim accusations.
It isn't you and you aren't going to be the one to stop his behavior. He can't be fixed and your marriage vows were broken the second he decided to abuse you and your children. Calling you terrible names in front of your children is abusive to them too. They don't deserve to see their mother treated that way. If not for your own sake, do this for them.

This is up there with the #1 existing heartbreaking story on VJ in the past 9 years.

On the immigration front I don't think there is much you can do besides divorce and move on.
On a personal level, what you are feeling is normal for victims of abuse. I've been there, many of us have been there. He isn't going to change because he goes to classes and he isn't going to change if you change either. The way he has been talking to you is the first step in what will be a steep slope of abuse if you get back together. It is how abusers knock down the self esteem of victims so that they don't leave as it escalates.
It will escalate if you get back together, maybe just towards you, but also maybe towards your children. Don't get back together with this man. Divorce him and maybe get some counseling or join a group of other women who have also been abused to get some support.

It's especially funny/ironic when marijuana has been legalized in a few states, lol. I really wonder if they ban people for alcoholism.
Seems like a lot of VJers here know what to do in this case. Best of luck!! One year isn't as long as it seems, really feel for you though. As a USC I'm embarrassed that people get banned for such dumb reasons.

Running to Jamaica and getting married and filing a spousal visa will not change the situation! he has a one year ban simply wait it out and redo the medical.
It sounds like forever but I guarantee you it goes very quickly. If it's true love it will still be there in a year everything happens for reason take this time to build a stronger foundation in your relationship

Please save your money there's nothing an immigration attorney can do.
Please go to the Jamaican portal and read pass threads this has been discussed many many times.

Applying for a different kind of visa is not going to change the situation. The fact remains marijuana is illegal in the United States under federal law.
No one knows the heart break better than myself you simply have to wait out the one yearr ban and redo the medical in a year.
If you enter this topic in the search tool you will see many many post many VJers have gone through this.

The best thing you can do is just divorce him and cut off all contact. Secure your papers and your bank account. Get a safe deposit box at a bank, and put all of your papers in it.
Change your beneficiary information as soon as you're single again to "Single" and designate a new beneficiary. Put flags on your credit cards that make your companies aware that you're in the middle of a divorce.
And yes, at least file a report with USCIS. But drop any thoughts of deportation or revenge of any sort...it won't work, and you'll just get yourself in deeper than you already are.

Has he started his ROC? You can divorce but he may still be able to ROC on his own. Infidelity is not necessarily green card fraud. I'm sorry this has happened to you.

Your friend needs to take this abuse very seriously. Being made to eat American food in America is a Class B felony. Plain and simple. She needs to call the police right away and have this criminal of a husband thrown in jail. I hate scumbags like him! Making women eat American food - the nerve of this guy!
