SS cards are supposed to arrive in the mail automatically.  They don’t always.

Well I can believe there countries that require three doses regardless when the second  dose was administered or when the patient last suffered from Covid.  It’s not like Covid policy has ever followed logic or science.

The Philippines has a completely illogical policy:
"Fully vaccinated travellers over the age of 18 who have received the primary series of COVID-19 vaccine and at least 1 COVID-19 booster shot are not required to have a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test result before travelling to the Philippines."
The fact that she just became fully vaccinated is irrelevant to them...

As long as the medical exam is completed before the day of the interview, it will be fine.  SLEC medical typically takes 1 to 2 days.

The description for scheduling/re-scheduling immigrant visa interview is on this page -- https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-iv-disclaimer.asp

Under "Immigrant Visas" -> "Apply for a Visa", there's a link that says: "I do not meet any of the conditions listed above, and I wish to schedule an immigrant visa appointment."

If you are asking if you need to renew the passport before the interview, the answer is no.

If you have an expired passport you are expected to bring it.  If you have an expired passport and refuse to bring it then prepare for an RFE or denial.  I don’t understand the reluctance.

I was told to bring every passport I had, expired or current and I complied.

No need to get the letter notarized at a Philippine consulate.  Ask a local notary to do it.  Some US banks have notary services too.  The US embassy will be fine with any notary.

Also no requirement for apostille.  Don't waste time and effort for it.  Don't believe the PH consulate's claims.  They have no clue about what the US embassy actually requires.

Vytra reacted to SusieQQQ in How come so many more F2B visas are being issued compared to F2A?
Yes, most of F2A falls under FX. That is particularly beneficial to a case like yours where the country has a high migration rate and F2A would probably be very severely affected if subject to country quotas, as you see is the case when comparing the current priority dates for the other Philippines categories to the rest of the world.

Vytra reacted to SusieQQQ in How come so many more F2B visas are being issued compared to F2A?
Some misconceptions there of how it works

    1. The FX visas are all F2A - 119 visas issued in July in Manila

    2.  Do not confuse the number issued in a particular month with what is “faster”, the F2B visas issued now would have been for petitions filed years ago vs the far more recently filed petitions for F2As being issued now

    3. There is no difference in visa priority once it reaches DQ stage between F2A and F2B. What you see issued is in proportion to the number of cases ready for interview.

    4. F2A includes spouses of LPRs, not just minor children

You're the petitioner so it will show the country she is immigrating to as this will ensure she is in the right seminar. Different countries have different seminars and interviews.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) air Preclearance operations is the strategic stationing of CBP law enforcement personnel overseas to inspect travelers prior to boarding U.S.-bound flights. Through Preclearance, CBP Officers conduct the same immigration, customs, and agriculture inspections of international air travelers typically performed upon arrival in the United States before departure from foreign airports.
Today, CBP has more than 600 law enforcement officers and agriculture specialists stationed at 15 air Preclearance locations in 6 countries: Dublin and Shannon in Ireland; Aruba; Freeport and Nassau in The Bahamas; Bermuda; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; and Calgary, Toronto, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, and Winnipeg in Canada. CBP also staffs a Pre-inspection facility for passenger/vehicle ferry traffic to the U.S. in Victoria, Canada.

sorry,  you already did the interview part.... good thing my head is attached.

Relax, everything is normal.  On average processing takes about a week.. working days, to reach issued status, some go quicker some go slower.. which is why I don't give time frames usually.   Delivery is 5-10 days (working) after ISSUED most times.

Bank account deposits, as assets, generally don't count for the interview.

You haven't filed your petition yet, so you have a lot of time to prepare.

Basically, you should be earning an income of at least $16,000 per year (before taxes). If you only started working this year, keep close track of your income and document everything.

Manila usually doesn't accept co-sponsors (one of the only embassies to do that), but it depends on the circumstances. I was cosponsored by my parents since I graduated only last year and started working then.

Just so you know, Manila usually doesn't ask anymore to see evidence of support, but it's best to always be prepared.

For the interview, my fiancee brought a written letter of employment stating salary and when I started employment, my I-134, my parents', their form 1040, and my bank account statement.
