  1. Looks like their server is either down or too busy to process at the moment.....just try later.
  2. At least one member's K- was denied after the interview for failure to disclose expunged arrests. He was the petitioner.
  3. 1. She shouldn't need a new medical exam if she had it completed within a year before filing the I-485. 2. You will need to fill in an I-864. The I-864 should not have been filed with the I-129f. 3. This VJ guide will explain:
  4. 100% inaccurate . K-1s can also experience extended administrative processing.
  5. Not true. Many, many people visit during the immigration process.
  6. ***Moved to the Philippines regional discussion area****
  7. Same for me......I helped fill in the form. I didn't sign as Preparer.
  8. The OP asked very basic questions........with very simple answers. No need for an attorney.
  9. When you cross into the US with a valid CR-1 visa, notify CBP of that fact. They will then "stamp" your passport with an endorsement. You are then a legal resident of the US, and you can immediately exit the US if you wish. Your endorsed passport becomes a temporary green card until the plastic one arrives. You can then use your passport as you would a plastic green card.
  10. Doesn't matter. You need a legal marriage certificate from the country in which you marry.
  11. If you can meet, have you considered marriage and a CR-1 spousal visa? Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can negatively affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire with no appeal CR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US meaning the clock for citizenship eligibility has started.
  12. The consulate in Mexico must agree to accept the case. You should contact them. They can then request your case from NVC.
  13. ***I moved this topic to the UK regional forum for specific answers****
  14. History has shown that cases are sent to the back of the queue after resubmission of documents.
  15. It is the norm at all consulates to wait until administrative processing is complete to determine approval or denial.
  16. Oh...OK......it probably just says administrative processing.......good luck. I hope your AP is short.
  17. I have never heard that. Approvals or denials always come after administrative processing has been completed.
  18. Administrative Processing is a normal part of the process. However, in some cases such as yours, extended AP is required while they investigate. It could be weeks, months, or more than a year. Unfortunately, it cannot be expedited or waived. You just have to have patience.
  19. USCIS runs its own background checks on both parties. Immigration authorities at the consulate can access expunged records.
  20. Normal. K-1s are handled by the immigrant visa unit at the consulate.
