  2. I think the fact that this thread exists is evidence.
  3. She seems to be OK with burning a bridge with a vast majority of those who vote red. I don't see anything positive for her by continuing to run.
  4. Well, this thread is a good start. I would be happy to tweak the title if you want... I don't recall any big issues with online filing lately. At one time, people were complaining that some of the date functions were confusing....but those were solved by entering the current date. When I filed an I-130, I don't think online filing was available.....but wife and I did file her N-400 application online. There were no glitches regarding lack of a signature.
  5. Wife's letter didn't mention it. Our local office emailed us exactly 2 days prior to wife's N-400 interview to inform us it would be a combo. But, I had been preparing for it all along....would have been nice to know sooner..LOL
  6. That's a great idea. I was clueless as to the process at the time....LOL. I educated myself fast after I realized that I cared more about the visa than the attorney who messed up our case did....of course, he already had his flat fee. Thanks to the good folks here, I was able to dismiss his services after the NVC process. The Consulate process, I-751, and N-400 processes were all done solo without a hitch. Thank you, Visa Journey!!!
  7. ****Duplicate in the Adjustment of Status forum removed***
  8. Everything I have read (which isn't a great amount) says a K-1 visa holder cannot adjust status after marrying someone other than the original petitioner......but consular filing can be done. A ban can apply if the K-1 visa holder has overstayed beyond 180 days. That would require a waiver. This is lawyer time, imo. Can You Marry Someone Else on a Fiancé Visa? (lawyerfletcher.com)
  9. Note: Even attorneys can screw up a case. Our attorney failed to initially include a couple documents at the NVC stage....causing us a 12 week delay. There is value in being able to verify everything yourself.
  10. I think he asked where we met and married. I don't see an issue. I think you'll be fine.
  11. Oh yes, wife took the oath 6 weeks later.
  12. Your evidence looks good. Having personally been through a combo interview, I can tell you what our officer wanted to see. He specifically wanted to see our driver's licenses, apartment leases, and bank statements.....in order to see a paper trail of evidence since the date of the initial I-751 filing (44 months earlier). He also wanted to see wife's ADIT stamp she got after our extension letter expired. He asked us both a couple questions, then said you are certainly qualified for approval of the I-751. Then wife stay in his office and took the citizenship test. I also had all our tax transcripts ready, but I had already uploaded them with wife's N-400 application. By the time we got home, 45 minutes later, her N-400 case status had already changed to "Oath ceremony will be scheduled"......Next day, the I-751 status changed to "Case Approved".
  13. If that were true, there would be no requirement for a letter of intent to marry from both parties BEFORE visa issuance. A K-1 was never meant to be a "try before you buy".

  15. Here is another similar thread from a couple years ago. Note the replies from @aaron2020 and @pushbrk, who is, in my opinion, the source for all things I-864....and more.
  16. That's OK. That is correct as far a the count. Thus, not required to be part of their household. I don't see an issue. Joint Sponsorship is quite normal. Good luck.
  17. 1. Wife completes I-864 as Primary Sponsor with Household size of 2 (self and sponsored immigrant). 2. One parent completes I-864 as Joint Sponsor with Household size of 3 (self, spouse, sponsored immigrant) 3. Other parent (Spouse of Joint Sponsor) completes an I-864a as household member of Joint Sponsor to combine income with Joint Sponsor
