  5. That attorney is wrong if he/she told you to file an I-485 now. It will be denied. Find someone else.
  6. Welcome to the forum. As the spouse of a Green card holder, you cannot file an I-485 or I-765 (EAD) until your priority date is current. If she was a US citizen, you could file the I-485 immediately. See the monthly visa bulletin links below. You are currently category F2a. She can file an I-130 for you now (the sooner the better), but that is all you can do for now. In addition, you must remain in legal status. You will be barred from Adjustment of Status if you go out of status. 9. They have already shown immigrant intent. That is going to be difficult to overcome for a tourist visa.
  10. Aldi is the ONLY place we buy bacon. It is not unusual to see us buy 10 or 12 pounds at a time there. We buy their Lower Sodium Bacon....At $4.25 a pound, it's a good deal.
  11. 6 months. That would be a tough call for me. For my wife's N-400, this is all that we uploaded: 5 years Tax transcripts Proof of my 1st marriage Termination Proof of Wife's 1st Marriage Termination Wife's Green Card Our Marriage Certificate
  12. Applying under the 5 year rule is extremely easy compared to the I-751. This is all we uploaded for wife's N-400 (5 year rule): 5 years Tax transcripts Proof of my 1st marriage Termination Proof of Wife's 1st Marriage Termination Wife's Green Card Our Marriage Certificate
  13. When will you be able to file under the 5 year rule? I can tell you that the process is pretty easy based on 5 year rule.
  14. Agree. It's difficult to explain just how much different (better) life is without the cloud of USCIS hanging overhead...LOL.
  15. Path of least resistance might be to get a Joint Sponsor in the US.
  16. You still have to show of evidence that you filed taxes.
  17. The source you posted does NOT say you can legally delay filing taxes for 3 years. It says after 3 years, you would lose any refund. You cannot delay filing taxes for 3 years if you want your immigration case to proceed. Your options are to file as Married Filing Separately now, then amending the return after spouse has a SSN.....or getting your spouse an ITIN, then filing a joint return.
  18. You said you could delay filing for 3 years.....If required to file for the most recent tax year, you have to provide a tax return or transcript with the I-864.
  19. Pay the $220 immigrant fee or you will never get the plastic Green Card. . If you marked the DS-260, the SS card will be mailed automatically.
