    VJ data is calculated using information entered into member timelines. Error prone only if users enter the wrong dates...which I would find odd. However, sample size could come into play one way or another. I guess VJ timelines based on consulate might be helpful. Maybe I should ask Capt Ewok which dates he uses for the overall average calculations.

    Sometimes, they do at Irving. Sometimes, they don't. You can ask after your interview. About a year ago, they offered for some days and not for others.

    OK. Thanks. I am at a loss as to why they would say that. Weird. Time to contact your Senator, imo. Find your representative's web site. Many, if not all, have an immigration Laison within their office.

    Are you sure that is what it says? The current medical exam expires in early September. If it says "no earlier than September", it makes no sense to me either.

    As @JeanneAdil said, contact the clinic to see if they will finish the exam soon. If they insist on a new medical exam, I would have it done somewhere else, if at all possible.

    Nope. You may or may not get a combo interview. Some of us have submitted request letters, but there is no requirement to do so. In my case, we did undergo a combo interview after requesting one during the N-400 application process. You could upload a letter if you wish.

    Very, very vague source for that refusal rate. I think those numbers are unreliable. Bottom line is that there is a history of VJ shows that more time together is better than less time together.

    In my area, DPS appoints are always are booked months out. They do open appointments on a daily basis at about 8:00 to fill any openings for that day..

    I have read that you can try to submit a notarized affidavit, but I have my doubts. Perhaps a divorce attorney could help find the official vital record. You can also get some info by Google search "How To Get a Copy of a Divorce Decree".

    Just don't pay the NVC fees or submit documents. You can delay the case indefinitely at NVC by contacting them at least once a year.

    For accuracy, the visa will expire 6 months after the medical exam...or even sooner. Expiration date is not based on visa issue date or interview date.

    How do you know what the approval rates are for K-1 visas? I know of no stats regarding number of denied K-1 visas. I know that in FY 2023, Tunisia "B" visas had a 26% refusal rate. I also know that in January 2024, 11 K-1 visas were issued in Tunis. I don't know how many K-1s were denied.

    The consulate would send the case back to USCIS where it would expire. No route to appeal.

    If you checked the box on either the I-485 or I-765 for a SSN, then the Social Security Agency is notified, and they issue a card. Any RFIE for the I-485 such as an I-864 problem will pause the EAD until the RFIE has been satisfied. It would have no effect on the Social Security card delivery since it cannot be used for work without the EAD being issued.
