  1. If you entered the US after your 2 year wedding anniversary you should receive a 10 year card. USCIS makes that determination. If you receive an incorrect card, you can file an I-90 to get a corrected one. You can track your card by using the receipt number you received when paying the immigrant fee.
  2. Actually, yes, they certainly do. It is recorded on your IRS transcript/account records.
  3. Severe financial loss? Requesting an expedite is free. I would certainly try it. Just don't expect it to really mean "expedite" if approved. Good luck. Expedite Requests | USCIS
  4. You don't need an EAD if you have a Green Card. A Green Card holder has work authorization.
  5. That is for all DL services. Unless they have changed it, you can try for an appointment at 8:00 am every day. If they have any openings, you can get one. Otherwise appointments here in my area are booked for months.

  7. Imo, she has been lucky. The Carrier Information Guide specifically states: "Expired Conditional Resident Card, Form I-551 accompanied by Original Form I-797, Notice of Action indicating the card validity is extended". The guide is not a USCIS document. "The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Carrier Information Guide serves as a reference aid for travel industry personnel. It outlines the required documents that apply to persons entering or departing the United States. Carrier personnel are urged to familiarize themselves with all sections of the publication and reference it in their examination of travel documents." My point is that, regardless of what USCIS says, there is a possibility she will be denied boarding. Good luck on the rest of your immigration journey. Next action for your spouse is either an I-751 interview or N-400 submission.
  8. You can change the address at the interview.
  9. Your Green Card will be taken away.....but NOT your passport. I'm not sure why they would want to see it. Make sure you take a black ink pen and the questionnaire as required by the instructions on the letter. Congratulations!!
  10. With what extension letter was she using to board before?
  11. Glad you got some positive news!!!! Onward and upward!!!
  12. No, that is not the case for petition processing. I-129fs go to the California Service Center while I-130s go to a particular service center based on USCIS workload and internal processes. They are not assigned based on geographical locations.

  14. No derivatives for Immediate relatives of US citizens. Where are they right now?
  15. I found out exactly 2 days prior to my wife's N-400 interview that we would have a combo interview. But, of course, I had been planning on a combo interview the entire time.
  16. I would not stay for the full time allowed. Short visits are better. If CBP even thinks the OP is trying to live in the US on VWP, some very negative consequences can occur.

  18. Correct. 5 year rule is very easy.

  20. Be aware that you must also have filed US taxes for the last 3 years (if you had income above the threshold). You must also prove that you either live in the US or that you have made concrete plans to do so. As stated, your children can visit the US via VWP, but they cannot live in the US or attend school without a proper visa.
