  1. Not an issue. The NOA2 validity date is irrelevant. Just arrive in the US before the K-1 visa expires....and marry within 90 days.
  2. Concurrent I-130 and I-485 packages for each one. Note: Siblings would have been much more complicated.
  3. Looks like qualifying income to me. Good luck on your Visa Journey..
  4. Almost everyone says the N-400 process is easiest of all the parts of immigration. That was the case with us.
  5. The VJ member reported average processing from filing to interview is 20 months (CR-1) vs 14 months (K-1). But the time to a Green Card is faster with a spousal visa.
  6. I-864 Affidavit of Support fee at NVC? Your fees are pre-fee increase?
  7. Actually, there is no new law. This was an executive order from a sitting President....which can be challenged in court, overturned by Congress, or reversed by a new POTUS. I'm not sure how this will end. I think there are still unanswered questions about qualifications and how to apply.
  8. I would consider waiting and filing under the 5 year rule as a Green Card holder. It is much easier.
  9. Sadly, some consulates have never recovered from the pandemic slowdowns. The consulates decreased their capacity, but the pipeline of new petitions and applicants never slowed.
  10. NVC is merely the holding area. Individual consulates control available interview slots as they inform NVC of available dates.
  11. Three-Year Rule for Naturalization Eligibility After Marriage to U.S. Citizen | AllLaw "It's important to be aware of the condition within U.S. immigration law that you have been both married to and living with the U.S. citizen for the entire three years. "
  12. You are not. Don't waste your money.
  13. No, they don't consider that as marital union before marriage. You must have been legally married for 3 years AND in marital union.
  14. To qualify under the 3 year rule: Married to US citizen for 3 years AND must have been a Green Card holder for 3 years. To qualify under 5 year rule: Must have had a Green Card for 5 years.
  15. I would also wait a few more weeks. If USPS said it was delivered, it is probably in a stack waiting to be entered into the USCIS system.
  16. In the US, tax liability falls on more than just citizens. US tax laws are the same for legal residents and citizens.
  17. This thread is referring to CBP stamping a date endorsement on an immigrant visa when arriving in the US. This endorsement "activates" the new immigrant's temporary Green card for a year.
