I'm giving them a workaround to use the website to get an ESTIMATE of subsidies, premiums, plans. Otherwise healthcare.gov directs applicants down the Medicaid path, which is a dead end for new immigrants (except in CA.) Btw, this workaround was suggested by an official healthcare navigator.

Just to be clear, do not use this workaround (using a higher income) for the actual application itself. That much should be obvious to any reasonable person, but let me state it explicitly. Happy?

Where exactly does it state that if you CAN be claimed as a dependent you MUST file as a dependent? What the law says is that IF you (the sponsor/child) claim someone (parents) as a dependent, then you can't claim a tax subsidy for their health premiums, because your income is included in the household income. If they file separately, they are considered a separate "tax household" even if they live in your house (same filing address.)
With all due respect, it doesn't matter what you "think". The only thing that matters is the law.
To summarize, in order to claim the tax credit for parents with no income:
    - Beneficiaries (parents) should NEVER have been claimed as dependents on their sponsor's (child's) US tax returns (this is REALLY important)
    - Beneficiaries should file their own tax returns as married filing jointly (if married) In this case, it would be 0 income, 0 taxes on the forms.
    - Fill out the health subsidy reconciliation form the following year. Again 0 income means 0 taxes.
I wish people would stop fear mongering and just stick to the facts.

It's called CRBA and there's set of requirements to be satisfied for that to happen. If you read the discussion in this thread, there were questions about how much time the naturalized citizen spent in the US prior to child's birth abroad.

Nowhere has there been an indication that Trump wants to "cancel all of the spousal immigration".......that sounds like more fear mongering by some.

He has not changed law, as he cannot do that.  He can, however, under current law, make decisions regarding who can enter the US.  Trump is not the first POTUS to have issued travel bans or restricted specific groups from entering the US.

i think people are either missing the point, lost, or deliberately disingenuous. Of course there are people on here who are anti most types of immigration so it is no surprise😆 🤣😆The point is that Trump is cutting immigration drastically regardless of whichever program he is touching, ultimately it affects ALL immigration processes and almost none in a positive way. He says he is for merit based immigration, well H1 programs are heavily affected. Processing times for virtually all types of petitions and visas are negatively impacted.

So those who are saying the media is exaggerating are the ones who don't know what they are talking about. There is virtually no immigration process which has not been adversely affected under Trump, none. The media loves to cry wolf, but guess what there really is a wolf in the immigration world!

So our I-751 receipt number is part of the BUG number. We received text but when we try ging online it says unknown. The immigration officer is kind enough to help us send message to their IT so we can get to online status update.

That's the right number. It does take a long time to finally reach them, we had to wait an hour few times. We got lucky once and only waited for 10 mins. Here's what I found online, in case you wanna try. I've never tried it though.

Get to a live person fastest: Press 1 for English, then 1, then 2, then 2. After the final 2, press # each time it prompts you to enter a number. You will need to do this three time.

You could actually create an account and not setup any interview and it will give you ideas on closest date available. We schedule ours 2 weeks out. Paid VISA payment thru BPI and 4 hrs later you can setup interview.
