Condition you never see your daughter again ?

Kids are the scum of the earth and ruin everyone's life ?

And you want to bring her to bring a child into this world ? She is a nut cake who never should have a child.

Hey guys I got a job!!
It is just a silly little low paying job at a super market BUT it is a START. I will keep looking for something better of course and even do a little something on the side.

I am sorry but this seems kind of cruel. When I immigrated with my American husband and our children, I sold EVERYTHING I had in my home country, and left with 4 suitcases and 3 boxes. Everything I had bought, collected, or acquired over years of hard work, sold or given away or donated. I sold my car, I let go of my job, my family, my apartment so I can make THIS country my HOME and put down roots here.
Saying "you seem to care more about your GC" is mean IMO. It is not "just" about his GC, it is a life he is creating here, the roots he severed to come here etc.
It sounds like he is doing everything he can to help his wife/save his marriage but it takes two to tango, and if the wife does not want this, what can he do?

I know it is not my "dream job" but it is a PAYCHECK and I am happy to do it!!!!
    My kids deserve it!

I am only asking because they said 3 days and it has been a week It is reassuring to know it takes longer if you were in another country

    I agree.
Is it the job I wanted to do?
No. Even the guys doing my interview after talking to me and going over my degrees were like "why would you work here?"
    Did I adjust my expectations?
Yes but you kmow what? It is FINE!! It is honest work and will keep my kids fed!! I am happy!!
That said and after talking to my FB mom friends (we have a Greek immigrant mom group) I realized that you cannot pick up from where you left off in your home country. Even doctors need to spend a lot of money and time coming here and start lower in order to practice.
If you get a job in your field depends on a lot of things including timing and circumstances and even a little luck.
WillI be slicing cheese forever? I can tellyou right now that no. It will not be given to me but I will work to move up the ladder and that is something I like about the US. That you CAN get ahead if you work hard.
Did I want to start over at 38 with 3 small kids in tow?
Of course not! But I am grateful for the opportunity and I will make the most of it.
Btw you guys were asking: the twins are 11 next month.

    Hello VJers,
I wanted to write and thank you for all your help when we were going through the visa process, we could NOT have done it without you!
We have been in the US for a little over a month now and even though it has been crazy hectic, we are settling in nicely.
My husband who has severe health issues and couldn't get insurance on Greece or a job, has been doing good here.. he has found a job already and has healthcare and treatmentand we are hoping he will be all better soon!!
The kids are in a great school and are excited about going back next week. I am staying home with the baby and I am finding it very hard to find a job because I am not looking for a $9 an hour job. There are TONS and I mean Tons of cheap jobs around here but with the cost of daycare it is just not worth it as 95% of whatever I make will go to daycare.
I am so hoping one of my apps will bear fruit eeeerrr an interview, and we can make ends meet.
I have a lot of good qualifications and I am even a little over qualified for some, I clearly state that I do not require sponsoship to work... but so far nothing.
So here's to hoping!!! Please send some +++ vibes our way!!
All in all excluding we are TIGHT money wise, this move has been amazing. I can safely tell you I AM HAPPY for the first time in years and I feel like I can build a future for my family here!!
Thank you VJ for supporting my family throughout this, thank you Embassy for helping my family leave the hunger and uncertainty behind and for helping my wonderful husband to get healthy because I really would like to grow old with this man!!
To all those still in the process have faith and know it is worth it! You do need to work hard but your efforts will pay out!!
