One of my friends got called my Cleveland Office today and asked if she can attend the oath downtown in the Federal Building, at the USCIS Office.
 
On the Court Website it says that The oaths are suspended till July 31st, but this is AMAZING news.

Thanks Alex for remembering me 🙂. I got a call from USCIS yesterday but it went to voicemail (I got pissed off at myself for not lifting the phone as I was in a office meeting). They mentioned that they will reach out to me again in the voicemail. I am hoping that they will call me again today. Yes this is great news !

Going by what they did in San Antonio. They will probably make you assemble in a line outside the main gate in the parking lot,  in a socially distanced manner then make you arrange your n445 and gcs. They will then move people in small groups maintaining social distance inside the building, maybe 10 at a time. Oath will be conducted socially distanced in a hall and certs will be handed out right after you say "I do", one by one as you are led to the Exit door. No speeches or video messages were part of the ceremony. The process will take 4-5 minutes. The main delay would be going through the security scanners one by one (while maintaining social distancing). I was impressed by how efficiently the whole process was designed without any confusions or second-guessing by the staff at the USCIS. 
 
PS: Don't forget to have a mask on and have a pen in working order. I saw USCIS staff flatly refusing the guy in front of me who forgot to bring a pen to sign his form. Not having a pen could potentially make you lose your chance to do the oath on that day. The guy was lucky that he was able to borrow a pen from someone ahead of him.

So they did help me out, took a picture that was in my opinion really bad, the background was yellowish and I was 1000% sure they will reject it. IT WAS NOT REJECTED.
I don't have any travel plans but I paid for expedite just because I was not at peace with not having my Naturalization Certificate in hand.
The longer I don't have it, the higher the chances of being misplaced. This was my logic.
 
Literally dodge the bullet with both my Oath and with my Passport.

Applied for the passport at the USPS - felt a bit uncomfortable giving them my Original Naturalization Certificate and my Original Name Change paper. 
 
Can't wait to have them back alongside with the passport.

Same issue with the picture. So the postal officer asked for a different picture. Since they had the possibility of taking picture there I paid for their service. Comparing the pics mine seems whiter than theirs. Hopefully will be fine. I am overthinking everything now, big time. lol
