A&Oforever got a reaction from tlatrice70 in K-1 Fiance steps after NVC Accra, Ghana
I was on here some time ago. I am always grateful for how much Visa Journey helped me along the way in bringing my now husband. Well since then I have also helped tons of couples online and offline however I am at a hump.
During my time, after the K-1 fiance petition was approved at USCIS. It was then sent to NVC then sent to the accra consulate. You then had to wait for a " Call-In Letter" which was usually sent to the fiance in the US.  You then sent a copy to your fiance in Ghana and they took that letter on a Wednesday to pick up what is called the packet 3/4. which was the required materials for your interview and your interview date. As my case was running through, I noticed the process had changed but never took note of it since it did not concern me at the time. Is there anyone out there who can clearly outline the new process after your case is sent from NVC to Ghana. this is for k-1 fiance visa. Thank you and i am still here for any questions regarding adjustment of status once the fiance gets here into the US. Many thanks.

A&Oforever got a reaction from AbenaKofi in Ghana after interview Approval, ready? Administrative processing? or Issued? Still no visa?
I would wait two weeks after the interview date and just send an email to the embassy concerning the status of the visa. I honestly don't believe in worrying anymore at this stage. the hardest part is over and you heard the magic words "that you are approved". just a little more patience and your visa will be in your hands. my fiance and i were so worried when they were still delaying us after approval. but now he is here and i see him everyday. so nothing is permanent. and there is nothing to worry about. Stay positive.

First of all, some people here are very discouraging. Don't let it get to you. still fight!! You are in a very tough spot however, it is definitely not the end of your situation. Go get the declaration that you have been single for the time period before marrying your husband(i believe from the commissioner of oath or something like that) and explain to the counselor that you were misrepresented without your knowledge. Explain you were young and that you were just a student and everyone was filing it out and giving their information because these individuals guarantee a chance of getting you a visa into America. You didn't know they altered your info. Explain you didn't think anything of it since and you just assumed you were not the chosen few who got a visa.
The counselors are very aware of the situation in Ghana and at the end of the day, they are human; some tough heavily scrutinizing ones (who by the way are just doing their job of protecting our U.S. borders, don't forget but nonetheless still human beings. They might overlook it or penalize you for it but it is always worth the try and there is nothing to hard for God, it's nothing for him to have the counselor find favor of you for a split second.
If you get the latter and they still deny you on the basis of misrepresentation, you will have to fill out a waiver form i-601and state that staying separate from your spouse could cause hardship on him here in the states because you all are a one household unit and he needs his wife to be with him, etc. if they deny you can still file to appeal. Praying for a better outcome. besides you have a chance here, the counselor could have denied you on the spot because they can and usually do so be thankful and start praying and working towards your next interview.

You can still have your interview waived. Either you'll receive a letter with an interview date, or a letter saying the interview has been waived. So it's still a possibility. Cases that are interview waived at NBC doesn't get an interview waived letter.

I don't know about the interview but you have 6 months to leave to US from the date of her medical. No k1 can't be transferred to cr1.

We have posted, please go through the whole portal. I learned everything I needed to know through here. Also, I sent individual messages to people of which I wanted more info on a particular subject. if you read our stories and want more info, you can also send a direct message. Anybody I ever asked all replied me with helpful info and I have done the same for a lot of people and through that have made many friends.

When did you meet and marry your current wife? Were you married to the mother of your children? The difficulty is, if you were not married to her, knowing when the relationship ended. With a marriage there is a divorce which shows a clear physical end to the relationship. For couples who are not married there is no such record of when the relationship ended.
They may question, if you were not married to your children's mother, why you did not marry her - after all, you have two children with her so you lived as a family. And why this relationship is different. In other words, you were in no hurry to marry the mother of your children but you were in a big hurry to marry an American with whom you have no children.

Hi Everyone! The title is correct..... we were approved. I almost can't believe it because we have been through a lot . This was our third interview date . You can look at my earlier posts to get an idea of what happened to us. I will also put a detailed review as well. All in all I can say that Ghana is a very tough embassy but we have survived. True love always prevails and don't give up. You can almost be doomed upon your case specifics when u get there but with God by your side, you can come up on top. A lot of red flags can also be avoided if u read all the posts here on visa journey and prepare. When my fiancé got there yesterday he took his temporary denial 221g sheet that only said he needs oath and fingerprint. The counsular called him to the window and told him he was just there to do those two and no questions were asked. The computer had a little trouble reading his fingerprint but once they got a good capture, they congratulated him that he was approved and sent him on his way. He ended up being the last person there but he was probably the happiest that day. He was smiling from ear to ear as I am right now after hearing the good news. Thank you to everyone for all your help, advice , and encouragement thus far. We appreciate it so much. If u have any questions feel free to message me.

Okay first let me apologize . After rereading your post I get your angle through the eyes of the CO. As you see age is a very touchy subject and your points are well taken.
I am 26 years older than my husband. But I am one of those rare women who still wants children. Maybe adoption or IF or surrogacy(the rich and famous do it why not us) but my husband will have a child.
But let me tell you know personally and talk to over 30 women who are 20 Plus years older than their husbands from Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Togo, Gambia, Senegal and age never was an issue.
However for the majority of us we overcame red flags with much face time. I spent 7 months of our first year with my husband was their for the interview just got back No issues. My daughter is older than my husband. No mention. I have 5 grandkids. Most of the ladies I know older are grand,as. some older than their husbands mother. No issue.
I truly believe it has much to do with evidence and the likeability (yes I believe this) of the couple. Do they look compatible. Do they look good together.
Gosh if having a baby is the barometer of denial or approvals I know some 20 and 30 somethings in trouble.

Sista I agree. But i'm 9 years older than my husband. We have a 2 year old together so I'm not understanding why they feel we have a sham marriage. But I agree that age difference is huge when consulars are reviewing petitions. They are looking at culture and customs as well. Most African men do at some point want a child. If the man doesn't have the child and the woman is past her child bearing years it's going to be a problem.

everyone on this Ghana portal will end up getting interviews dates past the four month time period. Ghana is backked up and gives interview dates far beyond your noa2 validity date. so im sure thats not the reason. you need to remember you alls interview and comments that were said. if it was denied becuase of a knocking then you would be out of luck cuz then you should have done the cr1. but other than that , think deeply about what was making her doubt the relationship was real and counter that doubt with evidence.

the question is why was it returned? thats what this interview will be about. dimming any doubt about the discrepancy that made you get sent back in the first place. They more than likely wont look into the evidence as much, its almost like a requirement that they glance at to make sure its there(make it very neat and organized). more of it will be the interview and your answers and addressing the issue and red flags in the first place.
