Michael and Ganna got a reaction from 2022 in K1 fiance visa denied because they think we secretly married, help!
Sometimes it is easier to go with the flow.....If they say you are married then show them you are married. There are some things that can speed up the CR-1 process. We did not use them because we have been lucky and always are together.
    1. File abroad from your spouses country......in our case it would have saved 5 months. Take everything you will need to file with you to India
    2. Start working on form 864 Affidavit of Support.....For us after we submitted paperwork, our case was at NVC 30 days....interview date was very fast.
It is not our target to rush to USA so we took our time, enjoyed life and traveled a little. Our timeline doesn't reflect the real time to CR-1

The requirement for CR-1 is marriage......the requirement for K-1 is met in person in the last 2 years...

You can get married, return home , file I-130 and travel back and forth until approval.....you don't have to live there

One thing interesting I read on this thread is that the government doesn't know you filed for a visa until it gets to the NVC stage....I have first hand information on this. We traveled back and forth while in CR-1 process....At POE we were asked if we filed for a spousal visa and If they could scan our NOA1.....we had no problems and had brought all of our paperwork just incase

Paypal is blocked in Ukraine. I would assume the same for Russia. We have brought large sums of cash both directions with never a problem. Just make sure you have the supporting paperwork and we have never paid "duty" on it

A fraud is a fraud, and can come from any country or culture. We have all been cautious while dating in the international scene. Maybe we get taken a few times to learn the ropes and the rules of international dating. As it has some pitfalls, it also has some of the greatest rewards and blessings.

The best way in my view to overcome the red flags is to build a strong foundation to your relationship....you can overcome anything. Just prepare yourself before hand. Take your time, learn each other, visit the home country, travel together and have fun!

Study about where your partner comes from....learn the traditions and some native language.
Read up on age-gap relationships and build your future. Don't let anyone step on your dreams, only you know what is right for you, follow your heart, but keep your eyes open.
Your suspicions will turn into trust

Michael and Ganna got a reaction from Back2Reality in AOS from F1 - I-864 Affidavit of support (assets)
I know each embassy is different on what they except. When we filed with assets only, the interview letter said to bring a co-sponsored I-864 to interview.

At first, we only showed a few assets that were liquid and well past poverty levels...more than 10X. They didn't like that.....We loaded up our guns and brought deeds and property taxes for 5 investment properties that are paid for. The deed to our US residence and the pay off letter from the mortgage company. Statements from 4 investment accounts, 2 money market accounts, 2 checking accounts and my IRA account for the last year. They excepted that at interview without a new I-864.

The problem with a joint checking account is you are not the soul owner.....Also is known that some people move money around for visa's. That is one reason they want to see past statements with history. I am not sure about this, but also they would like to see future stability....A checking account is not that.

Some people here at VJ used assets only for AOS......hopefully they will chime in and you can get a better idea on what is needed. In my view (having been through the process) I don't think a joint checking account is going to cut the mustard.

We had a similar problem. My wife's SSN was to new and had no history. We tried a different branch.....and they opened up an account. Before we were married, Chase opened up an account with only International Passport....hope this helps

Michael and Ganna got a reaction from Mrs.InLOve in Conditional Resident Card same as Permanent Resident Card when it comes to traveling and needing an entry visa in other countries??
Conditional Permanent Residence A conditional permanent resident receives a green card valid for 2 years. In order to remain a permanent resident, a conditional permanent resident must file a petition to remove the condition during the 90 days before the card expires. The conditional card cannot be renewed. The conditions must be removed or you will lose your permanent resident status.

I hope I can help on the issue here.
My wife and I are now in USA, we will stay here until April 2017....Then fly back to our home in Kyiv...spend 5 months and fly back to USA.
To keep green card status you must spend the majority of your time in the US.
To get your checks, set up electronic deposit for SSA checks....go to your US bank, they will set it up for you.
We always maintain a US address so I don't know how you will get new cards....It is illegal to send bank cards in the mail to Ukraine (and other things).....and customs are getting better in their jobs.
See my post on dual citizenship.....but if you are going to use this path, here is the method used now
Enter and exit the US on the US passport.....Enter and exit Ukraine on Ukrainian passport.......Just remember, sometime you will be questioned on where you are coming from and why you don't have an exit stamp.....food for thought
