As Wuozopo says, UK/London is a low fraud country, you have to remember a lot of countries marry without meeting their partners and obviously some people marry only for a GC.
I was asked 3 questions at my CR-1 interview, where did we meet, what was my wife's job and title, and where will we be living.
I'm totally convinced I was approved before I even arrived a the window for my interview!
I had been cr$pping myself before the interview, and it was soooooooooooooo easy!!

I used my line manager from work its nothing to worry about, I applied for 2 ACRO's (the first ran out my application took so long!) But the 'endorser' was never contacted.

Hey guys
I have my interview for cr1 visa In London at the end of the month.
I just read about a couple who got married in secret and it was a huge red flag.
Obviously, if they ask me at the interview potential questions like, how does your family feel about the marriage? Who attended the wedding? Etc
Im obviously going to be straight up front an honest no matter what they ask me, but could it be a problem? We had been backpacking for six months and ended up in New York and it was literally like, let's end this trip on a high and get married now seeing as we were going to get married someday anyways.
I don't want them to hold it against us that we didn't invite or tell anyone. The reasons being that my family don't agree with the relationship and my husband's family are incredibly supportive and would be devastated if they found out what we had done.
My good lady and I did exactly the same, we'd both been married before, didn't want all the drama of who/who not to invite!!
It didn't even come up at all. We married legally end of!!
-
I didn't even mention mine, had no problems getting my cert.
-
Yup, did it myself that way.
-
Mine took a week after the interview, but my status on the CEAC website never changed to issued!
I'm assuming the website is slightly more accurate nowadays!
-
I brought mine, been sat in the bottom of the filing cabinet since!

You can’t go through USC line because you’re not one. You’re traveling as a family so you’re seeing together but you go through the “other” line.
Yes you can, I have and continue to do so, my wife is a USC, we present at the desk as a married couple. We do exactly the same at the UK border.

Yup, did it myself that way.

We drew one of the reviewers that had no idea about the UK decrees. We did not highlight or note this the first time and we got an RFE for not sending a final decree. We called and spoke to several people, and even had it escalated to a tier 2 supervisor for review, only have to wait 45 days to be told that we still had to submit the correct papers. We took the exact same decree copy and highlighted where it says final and included a short note that UK decrees are not signed, when we submitted the RFE , and finally got everything approved.
It cost us almost 2 months in the process simply because the reviewers don't know the rules for every country and chose not to even look up or listen to what we were telling them.
We had exactly the same problem, we were RFE'd for divorce paperwork, but initially thought they had lost it, so fedex'd a copy to them................and then got an RFE for exactly the same thing!!
Eventually my wife got through to a Supervisor and she went through our paperwork and explained the scrappy piece of paper was in fact the decree absolute! If you've seen the US version you will understand the confusion.
We lost 4-5 months because of the lack of knowledge on their part.

For London don't bother with pictures, I had a few, they never even asked for them

So
You said since you were young you had a thing for US culture, then you say UK does not accept Romanian's.........................So which is it?
Why do you think you have not won the DV??
And then you want to be a 'street' performer, you don't want to pay taxes, or contribute to the system.....................
You know your case is weak........................mmmmmmmmmmmmmm BS springs to mind.
Good luck with your dream, because that's all it is.

Why were you split at the border, and why was the esta denied, maybe the reason for esta denial is root to all the other issues? Ranting about USCIS who probably had no input isn't going to get answers.
Your explanations/reasons are too brief for the knowledgeable folk on here to help, try and give all the details, or as someone has suggested maybe an immigration lawyer, UK is generally one of the easier countries to get approvals.
-
only thing he got upset when uk immigration seperated us at the border and once again when he was denied his reinstatement of his ESTA visa.
Maybe more information on these 2 things may provide hints.
-
2 months gone by already since filing ☺
2 things I learned from this whole process is firstly USCIS/NVC really don't care how long the process takes, they come in do their job, go home. You are trying to enter their country, its not your right to enter so why should they care??
Secondly patience, there is no point getting stressed because somebody filed a day after you and got their NOA before you, it doesn't work that way, each case is individual, each case goes to someone's pile of work and they work on it, there is no exact timeline, do they have deadlines................yup, do they hit them..............nope.
My case was at the time an estimated 9-10 months, from date of filing to POE was 17 months, and I flew 1 week after my Visa was in my hand.
Make use of your time to clear up your #######, I thought I was well ahead, and even with my delays I was in panic mode selling anything and everything on EBay! Lol
Skype when you can, I flew to the US 3 times, my wife came to the UK, we spoke twice a day by telephone.
-
So you just sent in paperwork again
Yes my divorce absolute was 'missing' so we fedex'd a fresh copy to them, we knew the first one was there because we both did a tick and compare list before we sent the packet, anyway..............................
We waited and heard nothing, so my wife called to find out the problem, yes they had received the new paperwork, but it was not what they required, they required my divorce absolute...................!!???
So my wife (not known for her patience) made them read out the paperwork they had received and suddenly a bell went off, yes they had got my absolute.......................!! For those of you who don't know and American absolute is like a file of impressive paperwork, whereas the English one is a raggy piece of A4! They had the paperwork all the time, just didn't know what it was!! All that bull***t took 6 months to sort!
-
Unfortunately each country is different, there are countries that are very high fraud and the cases get examined with a magnifying glass and get RFE'd for minor things.
The UK is low fraud and generally cases get completed without many issues.
I was unlucky, I got an RFE for missing paperwork that was never missing!!

I flew numerous times on an ESTA, I never carried anything that tied me to the country, Same question every time, "purpose of your visit' answer 'vacation'
Answer what they ask, don't volunteer extra information, you'll be good its soooooooooooooooooo easy!!
-
You need to stop focusing on cases being approved before yours, each case is individual, and each has its own nuances. Read through the other threads there are people on here who waited years. From filing to stepping off the aircraft at POE my case took 17 months, and my case was easy............................
You will drive yourself crazy by comparing each day. NVC really don't care how long they take, you are trying to enter their country, why should they hurry?

so does my wife >) ..Haha your wife and mine must be related lol

Don't get fixated by other peoples timelines, each and every case is completely different, you may think your case is simple and easy, but they are all different.
For an example CR-1/IR-1 were quoted at 9-12 months......................my simple and easy case took 15 months, due to 'lost' paperwork.
You will need to learn the art of patience, this is the most frustrating process known to man!
