Nah I just think some members on this forum don't actually want to help others and treat them like garbage instead, ive seen this happen in a lot of threads.

Almost everyone acts like an immigration expert here, but most of the time there are conflicting answers/information so its hard to know whos actually right, anecdotal experiences being the most damaging.

I already got my answer from transborderwife: marriage is the only option, a B2 will likely be denied and even if it is approved he will be denied at customs again.

    Interesting comments!

Everyone acts as an immigration expert, yup most people have been through the process, you came on here asking advice.................if you didn't want that advice why ask???

Anecdotal experience is not damaging its based on fact, as I said I travelled often, I even told the CBP officer I was visiting my (then) girlfriend, he laughed and said 'judging by the stamps in your passport she must be worth it!), It got so bad the Virgin Atlantic gate agent even knew me! But did I ever get pulled aside, nope.

People do want to help, but the lack of information isn't going to give people much to go on to assist.

But as you say you got the answer you required, so all good.....................hopefully.

Your anecdotal experience does not represent everyone else's experience.

What would I be getting out of withholding  information? Is this a fun game for me?

Something like this already happened to my wife so it's really not hard to believe.

Your entry into a foreign country is at the border officers discretion, even if you did nothing wrong... just because you had an easy time doesn't mean everyone else will.

Im looking for information, not a hard time. If no one has anything helpful to offer then a mod can go ahead and delete this thread.

Many people have tried to offer good advice, but they are all asking for full information, I'm not the first to question the facts (or lack of), there is a wealth of people to help you, but with information.

You have given a little information, initially it was bad officer, stupid decision. Now its because he looked at his facebook profile, I look forward to the next nugget of information.

What's wrong with you people??? I told you what happened, the same thing happened to me and my wife going into Canada. All I want to know is what his options are now for visiting.

I travelled numerous times on a VWP from UK, the CO's hardly bat an eyelid, why on earth would he look at his facebook profile?? I'm sorry there is more to this story.

Have priority processing available for $3000. As you know, 98% of the processing time is the application just sitting and waiting for someone to look at it. And considering this would obviate the cost of traveling to visit, long distance charges.. it would be well worth it.

You are kidding? $3000 would make no difference, everyone would just pay extra and still end up in the same cluttered mess!

My improvement would be to cancel all AOS who magically married on the 'spur' of the moment and decided to stay.

Send them back home and do the process correctly.

The process is not here to please, if it takes 6 months or 20 years, they really don't care what you think. Its not a grocery store!!

  5. Nope the medical really is a non event, people including me got highly strung about it.

Height & weight are checked, I actually said to the doc I need to lose weight (my moobs were rough!) but she was fine.

    More interested in my tats!

Blood pressure, chest x-ray, inoculations, blood and wee test, that's pretty much it

I hear they don't even do the fanny or knob check anymore. lol

  6. With all respect to the LA haters, don't let downtown LA be your judge of America, I live in Marina Del Rey, and love living here, yes there are some homeless but that isn't unique to USA!

Before you give up totally on USA, either move further out, remember LA is pretty damn big! or as other posters suggest maybe another state.

I speak appalling Spanish yet I work with a 99% workforce, and have little or no problems.

California is a slightly odd state, and LA even worse!

There are some great burbs to LA, give it a chance.

But think hard before you give up on USA totally, it was hard work getting here, try and make it work, if not at least you tried.

PS don't get me wrong there are some things that drive me crazy, but I have a far better life here than I did in the UK.

  7. Overstay will be forgiven and you will need tax transcripts or tax returns, not just 1099's or W-2's.

Btw- It's funny that people who adjust from tourist visa, VWP (Esta), or any other non-immigrant visa, ALWAYS preface that they didn't intent to get married and adjust. It's always a spur of the moment thing. I always found it funny how it happens so often knowing that it's an easy way to cut a year off the wait.

Its a very easy process to do by pretending it was 'spur of the moment' the problem is that during the overstay and waiting for the Visa that person cannot legally work, sorry but I would rather enter the country with my Visa and start working immediately and legally.

  8. Out of curiosity, can you tell me which hotel it was that you stayed in?

Thank you all for your input. I'm thinking perhaps I'd be better calling Knightsbridge and seeing if I can get a later appointment that'll allow me to do it all in one day. With the current time of my appointment, I'd be anxious about possible delays at the airport and as a person who likes to be places in plenty of time, the thought of cutting it fine timewise does not appeal!

JFH - I absolutely love the PNW! Its a beautiful part of the world and I'm looking forward to exploring more of it with my soon to be husband. If you don't mind my asking, are you staying in Seattle itself, or close by?

Yes it was the Hampton Inn, can't remember the price, but was a nice hotel, plenty of resturants in the area to
