  1. I had heard about that the embassy is moving locations. The forst person will probably be so confused as all the posts will probably be different lol

I am glad other people are saying that they have brought return tickets and not used them too. Can i ask when you have booked a return, how long after have you booked the return flight? Also did they even ask you about a return flight at POE?

I just put some random date in about 4 months away, nobody ever mentioned the return flight, as I said I actually forgot about it, I only remembered when I was clearing out emails!

  2. I have flown to the USA a few times. My connections to get cheap flights previously were in the UK. For example I would go from Manchester to Heathrow and direct from there. Same flight just cheaper from Manchester.

The throwing away your return makes me nervous for a couple of reasons

    1. Will they see something off about the fact that I have a return ticket even though I don't plan on leaving?

    2. Ticking throwing is something that they can chase you for. They can chase you for the cost that it would have been if it had been a one way and they can ban you from using the airline.

I checked and checked again with this as it was my first thought.

I intend on flying into Phoenix as that's where my fiance lives :)

Mobile phones, tablets and Kindles are all fine, I took all of them!

I also booked a return ticket as it was far cheaper!! I totally forgot I had a return leg! Had no problems at all.

  3. You've done the hardest part................the paperwork!

The interview and medical were total anti climatic.

Don't forget you are going through the process in London, not Ghana or Afghanistan, it really is a case of turn up, your good.

If it makes you feel any better I was sh*tting bricks before the interview, yet I knew my case was watertight, as soon as the lady approved me I was thinking 'is that it!!!!'

  4. Sooth America/London not exactly the same really!

My tattoo's were complimented on by the lady doctor, and some are old punk rock styles.

For men you are in your underpants, and there is a meat and 2 veg check!

The medical is nothing to worry about.

  5. Monday! Feeling nervous now.

You'll be good, I was soooooooooo nervous, didn't need to be, the whole process is quick and painless.

The worst part is sitting in the Embassy!

I got asked such easy questions, the CO was very friendly and easy going, when she said 'Congratulations you're approved' I was thinking 'is that it!'

  6. Just chillax, and wait and see.

An RFE is not the end of the world, I had 2 and it was their error not ours. ! saying we hadn't paid..........we had, and the other they said we hadn't sent a certain piece of evidence.........we had!!

As previous posters have said, London really is one of the easiest to deal with.

  7. Thanks, that's what we got too. "Military records" seemed so ambiguous.

On the DS 260, did he just list his army base addresses?

    I just put

    # Squadron

    RAF Wherever I was based

    Post code

    UK

If I was deployed in 'other' areas I didn't bother with addresses unless over 6 months and then used the same protocol.

Because my father was ex military as well I never knew half our addresses and my parents have passed, so I just put

    # Squadron

    RAF Wherever

    BFPO #

    Had no problems at all

  8. I'm currently having a mini break down over the fact, I'm having an eczema flair and I'm really worried that this will cause the Knightsbridge doctors to fail me, my reason for it flaring is my doctor won't give me my cream in which I was prescribed when I was really young after I got a pretty bad skin infection, I am supposed to be using a small amount of Metosyn (fluocinonide) but my doctor insists that it's too strong for me even though I know this cream is the only cream that works after many nights spent in tears in pain as a child testing creams to see what worked for me.

what are my chances of failing?

Are there any treatments that you lot would suggest in order to get the flare cleared up quickly and effectively from experience

Also If I'm in the wrong topic I'm so sorry!

Please don't worry about the eczema, I had my medical over a year ago, and my leg eczema had flared up, the doc saw it and never even mentioned it. You'll be fine.

  9. Check out this site

    http://www.***removed***/visas/us-consulate-embassy-security-measures.html

and no you can not take cell phone or back pack

Total rubbish, don't comment unless you have the correct information.

I took in a small suitcase because I stayed in a hotel, I also had a tablet, kindle, phone and assorted chargers.

They put the bag through a x-ray machine like the airport.

    Your good.

  10. British Airways are having a sale and I *really* want to take advantage to secure my flight to be with my partner.

We received our NOA2 text/email on 7/6 and will be going through the London embassy.

    So I have two questions:

When would an achievable month to book a flight for be? I already am fully aware that absolutely everyone says not to book anything until the visa is in hand, but these flights are so low I feel it would be silly to pass them up.

I have looked at the London forums, can anyone suggest a reasonable timeline allowing for error/any possible hold-ups?

Secondly: the flights would be for 14 days. Does this matter? I obviously intend on cancelling the return.

Only you can answer this, as you have already said you are aware that you shouldn't book tickets.

    You answered your own question!
