My case is being processed at the Potomac Service Center. I sent my case June 30th, received by USCIS on July 1, I got my NOA on July 11 which was dated July 5. No word yet on Biometrics or anything else yet. I will certainly keep everyone posted, especially for those being processed through Potomac around the same time as me!!

Hey everyone, could you also share your service center? I think the waiting depends on that so it could be useful to know your updates WITH the service center. Mine is WAC, California Service Center.

cosmonauts reacted to Murcielago in Erroneous Green Card after I-751 Approval
I’d like to share my experience with an erroneous Green Card I received after my I-751 was approved, since I came across a lot of misconceptions in this regards while doing my research here in VJ.

After my I-751 was approved, I received my new 10-year green card with an error in my name. The majority of posts I found here were discussing going through the lengthy and expensive I-90 process in order to get a replacement green card with the correct information.

However, I found very few posts discussing a different approach to this issue, which made more sense to me. There is an option at http://www.uscis.gov/e-request for errors related to the I-751 process. I’ll share the timeline of my experience with this service hoping to benefit others who might need this.

6/16/2019: an e-request was submitted online at http://www.uscis.gov/e-request to initiate the process and notify USCIS about the error in my green card. 6/20/2019: an e-mail was received from USCIS requesting me to mail a letter explaining the error, request "Expedited Processing Due to USCIS Error", and to return the erroneous green card. I also highlighted the "Expedited Processing Due to USCIS Error" on the letter subject line and on the outside envelope. 6/25/2019: my letter and erroneous green card was delivered to USCIS CA Service Center, and my I-751 case status has been updated to show that they have received my green card along with my letter. 6/26/2019: I called USCIS customer service call center to request "Expedited Processing Due to USCIS Error". 6/27/2019: An email was received to acknowledge the expedited processing request, and inform me that I should receive a response within 30 days. 7/13/2019: my I-751 case status shows that my name has been updated and a new card was requested to be produced. 7/16/2019: new green card has been mailed. 7/19/2019: new green card with correct name is delivered.

Like others said, you just need to send it again, it will come back to your house. They will send a letter with special instructions, at least that's what I read on another thread. Rejected is NOT the same as denied. I don't think you need a lawyer. Hang in there!

Mine also expires on Sept 25, according to my calculations our window opened on June 27. You may have sent the package a day too early. I sent mine on July 1 just to be extra sure.

Just a note -- I have been going through other months' threads to see how this process pans out, and wishing I had done that BEFORE sending mine in. From what I can see, most folks do NOT receive RFE, but those who do, some are for not showing proof of long-term financial comingling despite having joint leases, mortgages, cars, etc. Those are folks who only submitted 1-2 months worth of bank account statements or credit card statements showing joint finances. (We sent the most recent 3 months of credit card and joint checking...now I'm wishing we had sent all 24 months worth, trees & forests be damned.)

So just word to the wise, if you haven't sent in yet --- when in doubt, just send in copies of statements for every single month from time of opening joint bank account (and/or joint credit card) to now.

We sent two tax returns, the only two we've filed jointly, no transcripts, no W2.
We sent a year's worth of statements for three of our joint checking and savings account, and one credit card statements, also a year's worth that shows us both as account owners.
For utility bills, we just sent last month's internet, under my name, and gas, under husband's name mainly to show same address.
We printed about 16 pictures (we don't take too many pictures, we found out :p) and I wrote a small description under each one.

Your evidence looks pretty good, it's about the same as what we sent.
    I hope this helps!

    hmm

interesting thing i noticed is the old website we used to track our case status https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/ does not recognize my new case number, had to create an account in https://my.uscis.gov to find my case.

I guess I was not around for long time, since my AOS and things changes.

My experience, in CA, was that they make you pay to walk in and do the gonorrhea test, and then they charge you per vaccine that you need. I didn't need any vaccines because I got them all through my insurance (Kaiser) so I just presented a vaccination record. If you have the vaccination record and it's up to date, you should be able to pay "only" for the visit ($200) so make sure you bring the record! The cheapest I found here was $150 (that's what I payed) but I called all the offices in my area to check the prices. Also, for the vaccines I didn't get with Kaiser, i.e. all the vaccines I got as a baby and didn't have a record for, I got an immunization test (blood test) at Kaiser to prove I had them.

I hope this helps, I'm sorry you'll have to pay for this again :/

    Hey everyone!
I just thought to drop an update that we had our interview today and got approved shortly after the interview. Although the officer told us that we'd hear from them in the next few weeks, I received the status update sms in about 30 minutes after the interview. I'd post a detailed account of the interview soon. For those of you still waiting, hang in there!
    Cheers!

I agree with what Imenko said. Filing should not affect your F-1 status, HOWEVER, if it's anything like J visas, you will lose it once your I-485 is approved.
I don't think you should be worried. If your end date is far in the future you are likely to get your green card first if not, you can just get the extension.

I think you'll be fine. We got married in Feb 2017 and my J1 ended in May 2017 and we filed that same month, although we had been dating since 2014.
Our case move pretty quickly too, just answer everything honestly, no reason to get nervous!
    Good luck!

Can't believe I'm finally writing this, today my green card was approved!

Our appointment was at 7:15am at the San Bernardino Field Office CA, we arrived at 6:45 but were let in at around 7.
We went through security (just like at the airport) and then up to the second floor.
They called our name at 7:40, the officer was extremely nice and we followed her to her office. She made me take an oath (not my husband, the USC)
She took my fingerprints again and a picture. Then proceeded to check both our birth certificates, marriage certificate, my passport.
She asked all the yes/no questions from the I-485, verified our address, asked about any children, about whether I was part of any organization, criminal records.
She asked how we met, where our first date was, how my parents felt about the wedding
Then, she asked for evidence of bonafide marriage. We gave her copies of bank statements, health and life insurance, car title and car insurance. She was happy that we had copies of everything but said she could have taken photocopies if we hadn't. She also asked about a lease agreement but my husband owns our house so it was ok not to have that.
After this, she asked about pictures. She was happy with our court house pictures, even though we had a "real/proper" wedding after (we had prepared a whole album) and photocopied them.
Laughingly said she didn't need to separate us and then proceeded to tell us we had been approved. She printed a letter confirming this and that in 90 days tops we should receive the card but that it usually takes about 3 weeks.

It sounds like a lot but we were out of the office by 8am. We were her first interview and she commented that she was happy to start her day on a happy note.
As we got into the car I received an update saying that card was being produced.

***We were never asked to show the approved I-612 waiver but we assume it's because they could check electronically since it's also a USCIS case. The lawyer we consulted with told us to be honest but if they didn't ask about something we didn't need to bring it up.
***They let people take their phones in the office, we weren't sure about this so we left them in the car.

Congrats! Like others said, it means you are not subject to the 212(e), meaning you don't have to go home for 2 years and you can file for AOS whenever you want.
Consular officers make mistakes all the time because there are many things to be considered to know if you are subject or not (where funding is coming from, your country, skills lists, etc). The letter you will receive from DOS is your proof.

We had our aos interview this morning! We were approved on the spot!!!!!!! Though it didn't make the interview any less intimidating lol.
We arrived about 15 mins before our 11am appt in Norfolk, VA. They called us back to a private room about 11:15. She had us raise our right hands and swear in. The first thing she asked is if we had any evidence to present to support our marriage. I brought joint phone bill, rental lease with both our names, joint car insurance, my life insurance with him listed as the beneficiary. She didn't even glance at them or blink an eye.  She was just staring at us saying "uh huh... ok.. what else" (talk about intimidating) then she asked for pictures to add to our file and all i had was our wedding album and a screenshot of our photographers blog. So she seemed kind of annoyed and asked to look through our album. Then she started asking about the timeline of our entire relationship and the dates of life events like cancer and the death of his dad.. (?) She continued looking through our album and said she rarely sees actual weddings rather than a courthouse style wedding. She started to tear up and expressed how much love she sees between us and how blessed we are by God. She went from intimidatingly tough to soft and sweet and said she recommends us for approval and that she hopes to find a love like ours someday. We had the online status change by the time we walked out to the car!!!  We were with her about 20 minutes!

I was concerned about the health packet because we never sent or filled out any health paperwork or vaccine papers with his AOS because they took it at his port of entry and we had no copies of anything! I figured we would get an RFE to have his health redone since it's been over a year since the one for k-1 but all she said was "his health packet was submitted for his k-1 correct?" And we said yes and she said great!

I think that's about all the details I can remember! Glad to be done for 2 years!

Oh And our "local" field office is 5 hours away....
