he is been verbally abusing me for a long time and if I say to him it is not my problem you loose your money at the casino he will threaten me to report it at the ice.
I told him he can’t do that because I stayed with you for 10 years and had 2 kids together.
that does prove that the marriage was legit and real.
I already protected my self and my kids by getting a place for us and we are safe now.

Good luck! I believe you don't need a lawyer regardless if he sent the letters or not. Let us know how it goes please.

You don't need a lawyer. You just need to get all your evidence together and in order. 

Having kids, unfortunately, just proves you two had sex. Nothing about bona-fide marriage. 
 
You're good nonetheless. Divorce if you want and file under 5 year rule or work your marriage. Choice is yours

Be aware that USCIS will review your Green Card process as part of applying for citizenship.

I came on k1 visa to marry a deferent guy but things did not work out so I ended up overstaying as you may know if you don’t get married in the 90 days that you have, you have no other option but to leave the country.
I meet my ex husband after that and we got married and he is the petitioner.
That is why I left the country and attend the interview in my country when I got my waiver of 601a approved here at the USA.
and since we were married more than 2 years I got a permanent resident.
hopefully I did explain every thing.

He would be guilty of immigration fraud if USCIS takes this seriously
get your green card and protect it 
protect yourself 
if u live with him,   verbal and emotional abuse is serious 
u can call 911 and report him /ask for help  to find protective housing for battered women

Agree.  Applying under the 5 rule.  This won't be an issue.  I find it odd that a petitioner, who was required to provide a LOT of evidence to prove the authenticity of a marriage, would implicate himself in fraud.....😃

You have been a resident for over 5 years, so you should not have an issue. 
 
Try not to worry. He cannot do a thing - and I doubt he will even try-.
