@turkishdelight Thank you so much. Yes I am here to get other opinions but some people try to judge and some of them try to scare me even if they don’t know anything about the law.

All you can do is file and hope for the best. Although this is one situation where you might consider hiring an experienced immigration lawyer, especially one that has dealt with clients with criminal records. Might be well worth the cost.

I moved 4 times during the ROC process, I updated my address each time online. I called about a week later and confirmed they had my correct and new address on file. They normally send you correspondence through the mail to let you know they've received the request.

so it means as soon as I become USC, she can knock the embassy's door and ask to stamp her passport? Is this correct? cuz I can be a citizen in few months as N400 doesn't take long.

    Just to share some information,

My wife has traveled outside the USA to her home country Philippines and with me to Sweden on business/vacation this year while in the ROC process.
Exit/Entry in USA always being Washington Dulles. Upon entry back into the USA both times her green card did not read in the automated immigration machines because it was expired. Both times we were directed to another line where we presented the hard copy in original envelope of the extension letter. Very smooth process and never any issues. The officer did ask once if we had our bio-metrics done yes, which we did. We were guarding the extension letter with out lives though the entire time over seas lol.

I just clicked the submit bottom of N-400 online with pending I-751 pending. Hopefully, it speeds the case or at least it does not slow things down

Notaries don't do taxes. Normally clients get a draft tax return to look over before giving the green light for tax papers to be filed.

Find a CPA and file 1040x.

    Fire your attorney.

If you have filed an I-751, your status is automatically extended until approval, or, in the case of denial, a final order of removal by a judge.

When the initial one year extension expires, your status does NOT expire - only the proof of it, which is the purpose of the stamp, and there is no requirement to obtain a stamp. It is sensible to, but there is no requirement to do so.

Doesn't matter if you have a 10yr card, 2yr card, I-797C extension letter, or an I-551 stamp - they are all proof of status and not the status itself.

Immigration is a complex topic, from all sides, as is DACA.  The problem is not necessarily with the DACA kids at all...but there are issues with blank citizenship for these kids.  Firstly, as they are undocumented (by nature of their entry) it is difficult to prove that they truly qualify as DACA.  Secondly, children continue to be in the same situation as DACA kids because parents will continue to bring over young children illegally hoping that the US will not send them back if/when they are discovered.  Where does it stop? What makes children arriving in 2007 or later, less deserving?  It is the peripheral issues that will always bog down the processes.

In any case, I do not begrudge those going through DACA currently, the process they have now been given, any more than any other applicant.   There are plenty of other "legal" applicants trying to scam the system (paying for green card marriages, etc.) that bog down the process for everyone.   Our opinions are our own, and part of the beauty of this country is our right to express them.  That does not excuse name-calling and bullying of those that don't agree with them.  A little kindness goes a long way.

I agree, everyone has the right to their opinion.

However, i don't agree with naming or shaming or swearing or such.  If you have a valid point then there are ways to broach the subject, rather than calling people clowns or inferring about ones' English. (At this point,  one could become  a tad pedantic when challenging the poster).

To be honest, I can see why the poster was upset, however i can see the other side of the coin. too  At the end of the day, no-one has a God given right to anything.  it's not our country, our land it all belongs to God.

This ya wanna do is not ideal and a total mess of the whole essence of student visa ... I am sure those you wanna submit ya file to at the USCIS aren't dumb and they gonna see this as immigration fraud.

Just spoke with one rude Tier 1 who claimed she's been working there for 14 years and therefore whatever info she give is what the tier 2 will give too... She said they are still working on June files for now and that the processing period has changed; that its no longer 5 months again cos they have a lot of 129f and which made them had backlogs thereby changing the processing time to 6-7 months.
This is really not a good news if its kinda true.... I cant believe we have to wait for 7 months and then couple with NVC period and booking a date for interview which is not in anyway predictable as its a game of chances for early available interview date.
All this driving me crazy ...lolz
