True, but some countries can be considered ****holes as whole, unfortunately.
And that has nothing to do with being a beautiful or ugly place. Some extremely beautiful countries are ****holes, in my opinion.

I think it is more to do then with just one incident in 2013, but whatever.  The simple fact is that Durbin is a political opportunist much like just about every politician in Washington.  He is certainly willing to lie for political reasons, and after Trump rejected his "bipartisan" immigration bill proposal that did nothing relative to protecting the border, I wouldn't be surprised that he is making the comment up which seems to have more backing than he has.

There is nothing wrong to say that some countries are ****holes, it's just the truth.
People living in those countries are just victims of corrupt regimes/politicians/societies.
There is no reason to get offended.
Let's be a bit more pragmatic.
No one would ever choose to live in those countries, that's why there are so many immigrants from there.

I'd actually say there would be some instances where a niece may be a better source than children. It depends on the age of the children at the time of their father's death. I don't know how old this lady is compared to his kids, but if she is significantly older and spent time wither uncle she may actually have a better view on what his thoughts were. His children, if they were young kids at the time of his death, probably create most of their opinion on their father from what they've heard from others. 
 
I don't know the specifics in this situation though.

Here is the bottom line. Of everyone in the room you have one that says he said it-Durbin,  You have one that says he spoke to Trump about what he said but does not give a direct yes, that he heard it, you have several democrats that said no comment and several Pubs that said he flat did not say it.
 
So out of all the people in the room you have one that said he says it, and he has a history of lying about white House meetings, and was called out on it by his own parties white house staff.
 
So why did the democratic members in the room give a no comment and not back up Durbin.
 
If this was a court case, the overwhelming evidence says he did not say it.  DHS head testified under oath he did not say it.
