Coming the US with my spouse
Dashinka replied to saied's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Most airports have people that will help direct you to the proper line when you arrive. You as the USC can go with your spouse, to what I believe is the visitor line in order to activate her GC. It may take some time depending on the airport, so plan accordingly. Good Luck! -
Daniel Penny's Legal Defense Fund
Dashinka replied to Boiler's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
The jury came back pretty quickly. 11:31 Daniel Penny declared NOT GUILTY The jury quickly came back with an unanimous decision on the lesser count of negligent homicide. Screams erupted in the courtroom after a decision was read. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14173683/daniel-penny-charges-verdict-trial-live-updates.html https://nypost.com/2024/12/09/us-news/daniel-penny-cleared-of-all-charges-in-jordan-neelys-death/ -
Seems to go here as much of the "green" energy items use a lot of these materials. China Announces a Ban on Rare Minerals to the U.S. The ban signals Beijing’s willingness to engage in supply chain warfare by blocking the export of important components used to make valuable products, like weaponry and semiconductors. Sales of gallium, germanium, antimony and so-called superhard materials to the United States would be halted immediately on the grounds that they have dual military and civilian uses, China’s Ministry of Commerce said. The export of graphite would also be subject to stricter review. https://www.msn.com/en-us/politics/government/china-announces-a-ban-on-rare-minerals-to-the-u-s/ar-AA1vbk7y

Hmm, I guess it is cheaper to shut off the turbines than to update the grid. Brits Pay Billions To Waste Wind Energy The UK paid £1.3 billion this year to compensate wind turbine operators for curtailment due to insufficient grid capacity. Addressing the curtailment problem would require a costly grid expansion, estimated at £40 billion annually. In the meantime, energy costs for British consumers are rising due to curtailment payments and reliance on expensive electricity imports during low-wind periods. https://oilprice.com/Alternative-Energy/Wind-Power/Brits-Pay-Billions-To-Waste-Wind-Energy.html

He may not be a pro, but he certainly has disappeared relatively easy. He seems to be good with fake IDs, so chances are he took the bus to Buffalo, headed across the border and got on a flight to a non-extradition country. As to motive, who knows, I heard some talking wonk suggest this may have been an elaborate suicide considering the investigations this CEO was under. Who really knows. What is troubling is the amount of folks that seem to think this killing was somewhat justified. If I was a CEO of any company, I would be a bit concerned.

Sorry, responded to the wrong post. Yes, this definitely seems to be the plan for Old Joe and whoever is actually running the current WH. -
Daniel Penny's Legal Defense Fund
Dashinka replied to Boiler's topic in Current Events and Hot Social Topics
We don't know the specifics, were there 11 not guilty and 1 favoring conviction, or some other make-up. Yes this is NYC, but even in NYC there are many people that would love to have Penny ride a train with them. -
Filing N-400 under 5-year rule (divorced)
Dashinka replied to Keila_27's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Since you received your GC via marriage, you marital history may be explored during the N400. One sticking point may be the fact that you separated while the ROC was in process, but did not divorce until after that was decided. This could be something an IO may look at. Make sure you take evidence of the bonafides of your marriage to show it was entered into in good faith. As to your passport being in your maiden name, this is not an issue. My wife was in the same situation. Good Luck!- 2 replies

Applying for green card for child
Dashinka replied to cebuhasher's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Were at least two of those years after he turned 14? CRBA may be an option. This is the applicable statement in the policy manual I posted. Good Luck! A parent’s physical presence is calculated in the aggregate and includes time accrued in the United States during periods when the parent was not a U.S. citizen. -
Name CORRECTION during N400 naturalization interview
Dashinka replied to Pccmd's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Yes, ask them to correct the mistake at the interview especially if it is a same day oath. It will be easier then, rather than afterward. Good Luck!- 3 replies

Applying for green card for child
Dashinka replied to cebuhasher's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
The N600K process allows a child that is living outside the U.S. to gain U.S. Citizenship status via a parent, or grandparents according to the requirements. I am not aware of China’s restrictions to dual citizenships, you should research that as well. -
Applying for green card for child
Dashinka replied to cebuhasher's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
They are independent processes, but since the plan you laid out will not work with the I130, I would attempt to cancel that. -

Dashinka replied to cebuhasher's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
Are you, as the grandparents, able to pass on citizenship via an N600K? If so, this would be the proper route, get the child a US passport and then if desired, they can come and live with the grandparents. https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-h-chapter-5 -
Did not marry on K1 Fiance Visa question
Dashinka replied to FVThrowaway123's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
The N400 has two different schedules for filing. For people that got their GC through marriage to a USC, they can file the N400 after having their GC for 3 years (3 yr rule) and they are subject to review of the bonafide of the marriage. Other people that received their GCs through other means can file the N400 after they have had their GC for 5 yrs (5 yr rule), and USCIS will look at their marital history, but it is not as much of a factor. In general, a person filing for N400 is not asked about their entire dating history unless it applies to how they received their GC. Good Luck! -
You are submitting the same packet. This is not a RFE response, this is an automatic rejection. What would be the difference if you forgot to include the first three pages of the I485, you cannot re-submit the exact same package. That being said it is up to you. You can wait, but you seemed to be stressing a little over this, and the 50 days aspect. Good Luck!
