Hmm, guns do have a purpose. 12 Defensive Gun Uses Show That Armed Citizens Make Communities Safer As the nation continues to reel from historic violent crime spikes, many gun control activists turn reflexively to the same “bumper sticker slogan” policy “solutions” that fail to address real problems while often undermining the Second Amendment rights of peaceable citizens. Last week, some Hartford, Connecticut, residents made headlines for taking a different approach. Instead of demanding that their fellow citizens abandon their rights to armed self-defense, they announced that they would henceforth start exercising those rights in a public manner to enhance community safety. These residents say they will soon start conducting “legal, armed community patrols” on a regular basis, with the goal of preventing gun violence in a city experiencing homicide totals not seen in several decades. Organizers told reporters that patrol members will be trained to calmly de-escalate situations when possible and emphasized that they won’t openly carry firearms once a new state law prohibiting the practice goes into effect. The Hartford Police Department, to its credit, has indicated that these community patrols won’t face pushback from officers “as long as they are operating within the law,” acknowledging that these citizens “have Second Amendment rights like the rest of us.” https://www.dailysignal.com/2023/09/07/12-defensive-gun-uses-show-armed-citizens-make-communities-safer/

Daily update on Biden tanking america

Biden needs to make the US much more dependent on less than friendly countries. Gotta love the failed policies of the Democrat/Left "progressives". -

MSP Port of Entry
Dashinka replied to MarmiteC's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
From what you said, you should be fine as it does not appear you are entering with a lot of material that needs to be declared. The only question I have is how far are you from your 2nd wedding anniversary in relation to your planned entry? Overall, I would not expect a lot trouble at MSP. Reviewing the comments here, although a bit dated, seem to show the same theme of there being relatively little hassle. Good Luck! -

On the phone, so only answering the question on an airline not boarding you. I don’t see any airline failing to board an LPR with a valid GC. Airlines don’t know how long you have been outside the US. Regardless, put a copy of the CBP Carrier Guide on your phone. https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2019-Mar/2019 Carrier Information Guide - ENGLISH.pdf Good Luck!

A lot of long-haul freight is moved by rail as much as it can, but there are a lot of underserved areas, and some things that simply cannot be moved by rail. As to road trips, I agree, when I go on a road trip, I believe every other vehicle should leave the road. My wife is even worse, when we are driving along I80 in Iowa or Nebraska, she fumes when she sees a big rig moving into the left lane two plus miles ahead of us. -

There is no transfer of the I130 to the best of my knowledge. If you adjust via your USC daughter, the other I130 will just evaporate. It might be a good idea to consult with an immigration attorney. Good Luck! -

I believe they are fairly lenient as I would expect either Ben or Benjamin acceptable. Heck, they would probably accept just the last name. -

I suppose the Democrats will come up with a system where the Federal government takes over this industry. I think there is a word for that type of system… I do wonder when they will start restricting air travel (except for those deemed approved) in the name of their new “green” religion? Trucker warns Biden's EPA regulations would be 'catastrophic' for the American food supply The EPA estimates the technology required to meet the new rule’s standards will cost between $2,568 and $8,304 per vehicle, but the American Truck Dealers Association (ATDA) estimates it is more likely a $42,000 increase per truck. In total, the ATDA projects the associated costs of this new regulation on the country could reach $55 billion over the lifetime of the program. "A new clean diesel long haul tractor typically costs in the range of $180,000 to $200,000," Kucharski said. "A comparable battery electric tractor costs upwards of $480,000, that's about a $300,000 upcharge, [which] is cost prohibitive for the overwhelming majority of motor carriers." "This mandate is based on brand-new technology, number one, and they're supporting green energy" above the economy, he added. "I support green energy, but it's extremely frustrating because it's this new mandate that they are forcing... truckers are nonstop overregulated." https://www.foxnews.com/media/trucker-warns-bidens-epa-regulations-catastrophic-american-food-supply -
Hmm, destroying public records. I guess Democrat. Teachers union instructs educators to destroy documents of students' gender identities: Report The email said, "if you do a questionnaire, please make it a paper and pencil activity - any digital records are more permanent and may be requested under federal law." Under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), parents have the right to inspect and review their student's education records maintained by a school. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/teachers-union-instructs-educators-to-destroy-documents-of-students-gender-identities-report/ar-AA1gg7R2

It could, and no one here would recommend entering with intent to overstay. LDR’s are difficult especially when there are kids involved, but it seems she is able to visit, so my best advice, since you are nearing the finish line for a spousal visa, is to continue the visits, keep them short, and in the next 6-8 months, hopefully the spousal visa will be there. Good Luck!
