Yeah, I had the same experience reading through reviews. I'm not going to overload with the photos and chat logs.
Looks like you are close to 1 month behind me in your timeline. I'll bet you get CC within the next couple weeks if all your paperwork is good!

luukee, I called in to find out and the day i called is also the day that we got our CC. Then, about a week later we receive an email saying our case is complete.

For the most part they mean post secondary and above. Do not worry about elementary or middle school. You can put high school as the oldest. If it no longer exists then put the address it was at when you attended it.

I would put down the name of the school and if you have report cards, etc., from your school days at that school, I would send copies, or do research and get supporting documentation to prove the school did exist.

luukee reacted to NikLR in Preparing AOS package - I-864ez form original needed?
Yes that's correct. The I-864EZ and supporting documents (photocopies are acceptable for the documents), the IV supporting documents (photocopies only) and 2 passport photos of the beneficiary.
Also on the I-864EZ make sure to put N/A in fields that do not apply and none in ones that do. This is different than the normal I-864 in this regard.

The online form doesn't ask for email addresses.
I ALWAYS suggest calling to give over email addresses, or at least confirm they have both of them (they may have just the petitioner's from the USCIS stage).
I'm not sure why you're asking when you've already quoted my response from the wiki, which I've bolded above.
And no, that section asking if anyone has helped you is more directed to legal representation. If you want to fill it out, you can, but not needed.
    Thank you, thank you!
And hey, if people want to pay me to help them through this process, I wouldn't say no I'd charge a LOT less than lawyers too
And thaaanks! I think it's easier to read (compared to the old one). And I had such fun with the pretty colors too

    Another update!
After I updated the NVC Process wiki, I realized I should probably update the Montreal EP wiki as well ( ), so I did. It's now updated to the new process too
Time for lunch now, I think?

Alright folks, the wiki underwent an overhaul and has finally been updated with the new process and with the fact that NVC is no longer collecting original civil documents in the IV package.
I encourage everyone to go read it: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process
    Thank you!

Yup. Now with this new requirement (or, non-requirement), a beneficiary can theoretically scan all their documents and email to the petitioner to print out. So, no more mailing from abroad (unless the petitioner and beneficiary live abroad, haha). So, lots of money savings right there!

Hey folks, some lovely news this morning!!
As of yesterday, November 12th, NVC will no longer collect ORIGINAL CIVIL DOCUMENTS for the IV package. That is correct, you read that right. From now on, photocopies of the civil documents (birth, marriage, police, military, etc) will be accepted. Originals of those documents will be brought to the interview instead!
Information found here (2nd link): http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/visa-policy-update.html
    Direct link to update: http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/policy_updates/National%20_Visa_Center_No_Longer_Collecting_Original_Civil_Documents_November_2014.pdf
I encourage you all to read the update. For those that haven't sent your packages yet, time to make photocopies of the civil documents and put the originals in a safe place in time for the interview!!
Please note, this does NOT mean you can send photocopies of the AOS form. The form still has to be an original, with the original signature. As should the employment letter, with an original signature. The optional cover letters should be original as well. Besides that, everything else can be photocopies now.
I'm going to guess that this new change will reduce the amount of checklists stating a document isn't an original (when in most cases it is). Not to mention, the scrutiny of civil documents will be less (I'm guessing), thus speeding up the review process. So, good news everywhere

luukee reacted to jaiyen17 in 42 days to get case number?
They "received" our case on Oct. 3rd. They told us that on the phone. At that time they told us it would be up to 30 days until we received a case number. We were happy when we received the email with the case # on Oct. 23rd.... only 20 days later and on my husbands birthday :.) So...the 35 days is the longest time it will take... if it's like our case, it will come sooner. Start pulling everything (AOS & IV packs) together because things really start moving quickly once you have a case #

Hi luukee~ Yes, we received a "Welcome" email the morning the case # was assigned. We paid AOS and filed the DS261 that same day. I really don't think there is any need to call unless you are way past the expected date or you have questions~ Hope you get your case number soon~

Start with the vaccinations already now. I started a year ago but we didn't send in the I-130 until September this year.
You need to have your mumps/measles/rubella, polio, tetanus/diphtheria and hepatitis b up to date.
From what I understood from my doctor, Pertussis and Haemophilus influenza B only affects infants and young children so only any accompanying children will need vaccinations against those.

    Oops, accidentally pressed post.
Rotavirus is also for children. Pneumococcal is for children under 5 and adults over 65.
Varicella and HPV is no longer required.
Finally, you need to get meningococcal as well as normal influenza, if your interview is between October 1st and March 31st.

i did use the word 'bible', properly.
Look, EZGuideSpouse and James_ShortCuts were great, in their time, but NVC Process wiki is current. I hope I saved you some collective Venn Diagram sketching for versioning.
Soon, you'll find a monthly NVC Thread in the CR-1 /IR-1 Progress Reports Sub-Forum - I suggest you read the last 6 topics, prior 6 months worth of stuff.
If you've been using a handphone web browser for research and study here, prior, or even a tablet -
turn em off, pull out the battery and use a PC,
    as
you miss so much here, when not using a PC.

all forms are pdf-fillable these days,
so if you you want to download them and send it out to your spouse, that's cool.
Note - the DS-260 is an online form, the visa application, it's not a pdf fillable form, at all.

Some one help me if I am wrong but I think after the N V C gets it you call them after a couple weeks and ask if you have a hcmc case number yet. If you do you go to the ceac web site and sign a choice agent and then pay A O S fee .
Then after you sent in with the cover sheet you can pay the visa application fee and get that stuff ready and send in with the cover sheet or all at the same time . Then about when your done with that your wife will get a letter telling her those same steps you already finished seems like.It also has a list of the steps on the web site.

You don't have to submit pay stubs with the employer letter, no, but it's not a bad idea to submit a few anyhow.
The poverty guidelines at 125% for 2 people is about 20k.
Your tax return transcripts provide all the information the NVC needs to send the AOS to interview for approval from the CO.

Only about 4 vaccines are required (this can vary by country of course.) But if there is a vaccination you need and requires multiple injections, then you are fine as long as you get the first one at the medical and the second at a later date. Your interview and/or visa will not be postponed for the second vaccination or series to be complete. just the first vaccination is fine.
