Use priority mail.  Her passport with entry stamp will still serve as a green card for one year from entry.

I was going to say file online and wait for them to RFE but I re-read the instructions for I-90 and I think filing paper is better actually. I’m basing it off of the following instruction from USCIS https://www.uscis.gov/i-90 under filing fee:

“If you are filing the Form I-90 because your current Green Card contains incorrect information due to a Department of Homeland Security error, such as a misspelled name, you do not have to pay a filing fee. However, you must send us:
The original card that contains the incorrect information; and Evidence documenting your correct name or biographical information.
The emphasis is that YOU must send it, rather than they will collect it at some point . Knowing how USCIS can be (unpredictable), I’d just send it by paper along with the erroneous card.

Of course the child has an interview.  There may not be questions asked, but an interview is scheduled.
Delaying mom's interview is the first thing to do.  It's something they still have control over.

I’m sure they do. But they cannot move until they have visas in hand. Anything else is immigration fraud, and risking a ban from the US. I’m sure they’d rather wait a while longer and do it properly than rush and risk being unable to enter the place they call home, right?

So Mom needs to do as everybody has suggested above, and slow her process down until her daughter can catch up. Then they can move together.

Delay mom's interview. Call USCIS and ask if they can match the child's case with mom's. They sometimes will do this because it is not technically an expedite so they don't have to follow certain criteria.
Can't get the medical until they give the Ok which is when the interview is set.

Why can’t the Mom delay her interview and visa until the daughter catches up, as suggested above? She needs to wait to move with her daughter.

And it’s the same process for the child as it was for Mom - submit docs, pay fees, wait for interview at the consulate etc.

I already told this OP, "If you're willing to do the homework, and pay attention to detail, I don't see any reason not to do it yourself." but the "ifs" mentioned entail far more than simply finding this website and asking question.  If you don't do the homework, you don't know what you don't know, so you don't know what to ask.  We see evidence very regularly of people who didn't do their homework and now they are dealing with the consequences.

In short, no.  You have posted in a spouse visa forum. Please clarify whether you are the US Citizen or the foreign spouse.

There really is more to whether you can/should do it yourself that you say.  First, you have to do the homework before you know if your case is complicated or not.  Then, you must have the attitude, aptitude, and motivation to do the homework, interpret accurately and answer accurately.  Part of "aptitude" is the ability to "read carefully, and interpret literally".  We se evidence of folks here every day who cannot or did not do even a C- job of any of that.

Using "a website" does not assure anybody who is "very experienced" is going to be involved in your case.

The discussion turned to this because....I....and others think it's irresponsible to tell strangers we know nothing about except that they found THIS website, "can do it themselves".  You "opened' the discussion.  It goes where it goes.

Correct, but just as a point of discussion, if the US Citizen petitioner, is dealing with a financial hardship, such as cannot work because they have to be the caregiver for THEIR mother, it might be worth a shot.  Slim chances though.  If it's the mother of the foreign spouse, no chance at all.  That's why I asked.

Just to be clear, you'd be returning to the UK in August 2026 to wait for your visa to be issued? You may find that you end up interviewing and finishing the process in London anyway then if that's the case so spending time in Australia in the interim wouldn't have much of an impact.

On what basis will you be legally in Aust? . You must have residency in order to interview in Aust .. otherwise you would return to the UK for the interview

An I-485 would not be applicable in your scenario.  I-485s apply only to individuals who are adjusting status inside the US.   Yes, an I-130 can be submitted while you are in the UK, then continued after you move to Australia.  If you wish to delay the process later, you can do so at the NVC stage of the spousal visa process.

They shouldn't be laminated. You may find he's asked to get another copy and submit that.
