So planning ahead you just got married and assuming you have just gotten your AOS. In 3 years you can get your citizenship. You can apply for your Mother/father then that should take about a year. When they arrive they will be able to get citizenship in 5 years , they can then apply for their sibling which will take about 10 years. The sibling can then bring the child ( your cousin) So 3 years plus 1 year plus 10 years , minus 9 months means you should conceive in 13.5 years if you want you cousin to baby sit.

RFEs are usually handled in about 2 weeks--you're nearly at the end.
In terms of how it took them 7 months to notice that you're missing a document? That's the process, and it stinks. When you send it it, they make sure that you paid and that you signed it. That's it. Then it goes into a line for someone to look at for 15-20 minutes. *That* is the person who would notice missing documents--it's the first time anyone actually looks at the file. Right now, the "line" (I'm assuming you're at Texas Service Center) is about 7.5 months long.
Either way, an RFE is a good thing. It means they're working on your case. They'll probably have you approved in a few weeks.

Duckpuddle reacted to nolee in Should I hire a lawyer and other questions.
I think I can relate with you. Before my fiance and I met in person we both felt that we wanted to spend a long time with one another. Meeting in person for the first time ever confirmed just that, that we should continue with this journey.
Right now we are just in the beginning stages of our visa process.
This website as been very helpful with any questions I have had. Every question I've had I was able to find the answer here. Everyone is very helpful. I don't think hiring a lawyer would be necessary. They cost extra money for an already expensive process. With a little research this is something that you could easily do without the extra cost of a lawyer.
I would start reading the guides on here to familiarize yourself with what steps you would have to take to get this all started and what sort of paperwork you'd have to do.

As for evidence of the relationship hang on to flight itinerary, boarding passes to help with proof of meeting in person. Take lots of pictures together when you visit! Save email, text, skype correspondence. Pictures tho, I think that's the biggie.
I hope you are able to visit with her soon and wish you both the best of luck with your journey together!

No explanation needed when filing the I-131. Just leave that part blank. You can also write UNKNOWN for trip date and length of trip, and also MORE THAN ONE TRIP on part 7. Follow the example form.

I'm not sure why your fiancée used the past tense. Probation is part of your punishment, and you're still facing it right now and will be for the next few years. Probation isn't supposed to be convenient.
It sounds like you're in a tough place with regard to the relationship. She (probably) can't come to the US, and you can't leave the US. That doesn't leave you a whole lot of options...

Yes. The 'A#" next to the beneficiary's name is the Alien # or A-number referenced in other documents.

The Alien Number is the same as the "USCIS #" but has a preceding A. Current green cards and work permits use "USCIS #," which confused me since some forms and documents (such as my state's healthcare exchange) use "Alien Number" and don't necessarily mention other terms used.

You, sir, are the one who quoted scripture in response to the OP. It wasn't relevant nor necessary to the topic at hand.
And I'm not an atheist, BTW.
You are bringing attention to your heterosexual-ness, and trying to justify it by quoting scripture. Right or wrong (in your opinion, according to your faith), folks have the same right to be gay as you and I do to be "straight".
I'll gladly continue the discussion via PM or if you start another thread, but let's not sully this thread, eh?

Expunged records are not available to the public - but are still available to law enforcement, the courts and government agencies.
If you don't get quick action through pleading, then subpoena the Court for the records. You'll need to show cause why they should be released, but I think you're justified here. A judicial order can release the records under subpoena.

i suggest to you that the clerk at the court was wrong. It was convenient to use a telephone, but I suggest you show up in person with your wife, sometime in the next 5 days, have a different conversation.

First- No 864, no immigration. Period.
If your dad hasnt signed it, or if he does sign it and you receive it and destroy it instead of submitting it to them- then your wifes immigration is at a halt. Until they have an 864 that meets the criteria- no visa.
As for your personal issues. Clearly you must see you and your wife are NOT compatible. People can come along and post all kinds of 'helpful
posts explaining her behavior or encouraging you to stick it out, but the bottom line is sometimes people are just not compatible.
You want a wife who will behave a certain way- due to her emotional trauma/history- she is not it. You state youd be fine with her if she actively sought therapy and took heavy meds. She has no interest in doing such. Just like you cant force a square peg into a round hole, you cant make your wife be the woman you want her to be. You have to accept her for who she is- problems and all and you dont. So---incompatible.
IMO you should NOT present the 864 to the consulate. Advise them that you are no longer intending to immigrate as you will be divorcing. Then file for divorce and move on.

It sounds as if you were in like with your wife when you married her, instead of being in love. A marriage based on such a foundation isn't likely to last, as you are finding out.
You can either string it out for a few years and perhaps compound the problems by adding children into the mix, or instead pull the plug now and make a clean break for both of you.

Asthania is the only person who knows what her situation is and it is unfair for us to come on this forum and judge her. Everyone's situation is not the same. Just give God thanks that you are not facing any problem in your own relationship that would cause a change of heart.

As noted above by PaulAbby, owning properties is never an issue for the K1 visa. As far as I can recall, it was not asked in any of the forms as well.

Really sorry to hear that your husband is no help. This is odd in my opinion and probably foreshadows rocky things ahead. At the very least he lacks compassion for the fact you are in completely different world than what you were accustomed. The AOS and supporting documentation are still his responsibility and he should be helping but that's just my opinion.
I just started the process to bring my fiancée over here. Because I am the petitioner and it is my country I am doing the necessary research and letting her know what to expect in the future. I have helped walk her through some of the initial things we needed for the petition. I will also be assisting as much as possible being 9000 miles away once the petition is forwarded to the embassy. I don't expect her to know everything and she doesn't have the time that I do to research and understand what is needed.
I personally think your husband needs to grow up and stop being a selfish, whiney little baby.
