We are compiling the documents for my fiance to bring to the medical exam. I'm not sure of one item on the list (http://www.slec.ph/us-visa-applicants.shtml#kvisa).

  1. Letter of Case Number

If Letter of Case Number was received via email, print 3 copies for the principal applicant and 2 copies for each derivative.
    • Principal Applicant - original & 2 photocopies
    • Derivative - 2 photocopies

Is this the letter sent from the embassy to my fiance, or is it the letter the petitioner (me) received from the NVC with the case number (MNL2014000000).

Thanks!

I have a quick question. My fiance is putting together items for her medical. We are curious. Do they want the original letter? Or can she just use the photocopies I sent her? For the case letter that is.

I'm pretty sure that they only need to see something official with the case number on it. I think they will even accept a screenshot of the case status...as long as it has the MNL2014000000 number.

I emailed a scanned PDF of the letter. He will print out copies to bring to the exam.

Yes I did the same for my fiance. She is printing out multiple copies. I am flying her to manila on the 14th so I wanted to make sure I didn't need to rush mail the original to her

The SLEC staff do ask for a photocopy of an official letter (from USEM or NVC) indicating the MNL case # but in my case, I told the staff person that I don't have an official letter with the case # (the USEM letter arrived after my medical) because I got my case # from NVC over the phone.

So if SLEC asks for a letter with case # but you don't have it, just say you got the case # over the phone by calling NVC.

Check my timeline for K-1 visa & AOS details

Petitioner will get a letter from NVC. If the beneficiary schedules her interview online (which is best) then she simply prints out the confirmation page at the end of the process (don't forget USEM will want a copy later also, so print enough). You can have a confirmation emailed at the end of the scheduling process also.
