One week? My wife is Pinay and after we read this we have to agree that there is something deep rooted and more complex than being homesick. Especially in Sacramento where Filipinos are abundant (not like Minnesota for instance).
So lucky my wife is the one who said "I don't care where we are as long as we are together"

I have been through quite a few processes in the USCIS maze of paperwork and quite frankly, the CRBA was the easiest of all the processes. I know you can't be there but they have made the order of business so easy. Once they receive your packet they will set the appointment and then notify you of the documentation that you are missing.

Once I got to the embassy I only had to show them the birth certificate from the NSO and my passport. They asked to see the baby and we were issued the U.S. passport within six days. He told me at the embassy it generally takes two weeks but that they were processing them in one week. We talked more about baseball than the damn application process.
My appointment was at 9:30 and I was out of there by 11:30

While getting information on these types of sites is very helpful don't assume the person on the other end is the all-knowing wizard because they have "been through the process."
Unlike most people I have been through K-1 and CR-1 with the same beneficiary. I received very bad mis-information at one time and once I was able to talk directly with the U.S. Embassy in Manila I found out the truth. One of the issues was that under the fiancee visa, my NOW wife, fiancee then had stayed here much longer than the three months required. I found out from the embassy that they really didn't care as long as my intentions were still admirable and that I was honest with them.
I had people telling me she would be banned for ten years, that we would never be approved a second time, that her medical would not be accepted a second time ... and they were all persons with good intentions but without merit or facts. All of our cases are the same yet different. The worse advise came from my wife's own country girls who simply had no clue.
Some petitions take a year while I have seen some whiz through in a couple months.
Google search your way through the process and get reliable VERIFIED information. My friend in Homeland Security in Los Angeles says starting letters to congressmen and petitions will have little to no effect on the process and could endanger your petition from being treated fairly and impartially.
Good Luck to you all !!

I am happy to see more and more posts in other social sites related to men who are being turned back from Manila due to a conviction for "RSO" - Registered Sex Offender.
In my opinion these creeps do not belong in a long distance trustful relationship with a Filipina. I have been sad for the girls that have had to report such an incident and posting the same thing over and over that "...they just didn't know why their fiancée had to be turned back for just chatting with a teenager..." You and I know that it takes a pretty substantial amount of evidence to convict these guys on such a crime. It is nice that the databases are now linked to the passports to keep these morons out of the country.

Why are you 23 and living with a step-father? I think you were driving badly, he could see you were going to run over stuff and wreck, and he freaked out. He is 78 (!) after all. That is very old. He hit you on the arm to get you to stop, not to hurt you.
I'll bite my tongue on the rest.

It amazes me how people try to interpret an agency. Not one person out here who isn't on the inside of this organization can make foolish statements on how or why applications get processed. It is pure speculation based on very few samples with a small number of statistics of filiers who have decided to join this forum.
Until you are sitting in the meetings of the people that head this organization you have no idea how the process works and neither do I. As long as I have been in this forum the process, the people, the questions and the order of which applications are processed is relvolving. The same comments made today are the same comments made five years ago.
Everyone thinks they are standing in a line at Disneyland and they get to get on the ride next and everyone wants to be just as important as the next person. I salute you for a great reply JA_Martinez. To label the USCIS "Insufferably incompetent" is only because your patience is thin. the process does and will happen. Then you will never have time to be here whining again

    Good Luck!

A guy in a FB forum group of ours just had an incredibly fast approval. His process from NOA1 to NOA2 was 36 days - beneficiary in Philippines with no military background. YES, It is an I-130!
His filing was in November and he already has his approval.

There are several people that have reported that when they put in a request for expedite it went to another pile and are waiting for review. Me thinks this has slowed down the process for these filers - especially those in the Philippines that felt their case warranted expedite because of Typhoon Yolanda - this may have clogged the workload for those who are really in dire need of a review. If your fiancee lives in anyplace other than the hardest hit areas such as Davao and Leyte - shame shame.

I admire posters that have been in this forum for quite sometime now. Their processes have long been over and they find the time to continue to assist and be straight forward with answers to questions they have been presented with before. Some people have complained that once and a while they received bad advise here but if it wasn't for the veterans to straighten things out -- this site certainly would die. I imagine for some people that in the winter seasons when it's too cold to go out, this is a friendly place to hang. I know that once my process has been completed I won't have the need or the time to come back in here. -- so kudos to all of you who continue to assist. Even though it's the same munade question it's a different person asking it.

Not really -- just depends on the backlog ... this situation right now is different. It's actually easier to file the I-130 than the I-129 and when they get here they already has status change. Both processes have their ups and downs.
If the US didn't have so many illegals breaking the rules this wouldn't happen. The massive influx of Mexican and Central American border hoppers are making it difficult for everyone and they just can't trust anyone now.
