I will definitely. Sorry you don't have a job yet, praying that your work permit comes faster. I am grateful to God for the job i have, it helps me get busy. I even built a house in my home country and bought a house here in the USA last year, this is a motivation for me. I feel that there's a second chance after every mess or abuse in Life. I thank God for that

    Hello Everyone,

My I-485 was approved today. It's been a loooong journey for me, but I'm glad it's finally come to an end. Special thanks to @Stillwinning!!!😊 for always answering questions.
    Here is my timeline.
My local office is Dallas, Texas.
Attorney is Oklahoma (There is a reason why I am mentioning this. lol)
    Nov 13, 2017- I-360 filed
Jan 31, 2018 - RFE (good moral character)
March 12, 2018 - USCIS received Response to RFE.
    June 20, 2019- EAD approved (I-360)
    Jan 11,2020- 1-360 approved.
Since I was in removal proceeding, we had to inform the court that my i-360 was approved and we would like to terminate the proceedings. The ICE attorney and the judge accepted our request.
    April 29- 2021 - filed I-485.
Aug 29, 2021 - Case was moved to local office.
December 27 - We are ready to schedule your interview.
December 29- Interview scheduled (However, since my attorney is in Oklahoma the interview was scheduled to OKC field office. My attorney reached to the OKC field office and informed them that I do not live in Oklahoma.)
    Jan 12, 2021 – interview was cancelled.
May 6, 2021, Interview scheduled again at the wrong field office.
May 12, 2021, interview cancelled again.
May 28, 2021 – Attorney received a notice for interview in Dallas field office (interview was scheduled for 6/7/2021)
June 7, 2021 – Card in production ( The status changed 10 mins after I walked out of the interview.)
    June 8th, 2021 – Case approved.
Interview was extremely easy, and I was there for total of 30 mins. The officer did not ask any VAWA questions. All the questions asked were Yes and No. Since it was raining outside, the interview lasted about 5 mins, and for the reminder 25 mins we were talking about random stuff. Lol
To all of you waiting… Please be patient and try to keep yourselves busy. Focus on learning something new and growing as a person. Do not let this come in between what you want to achieve in life. For me it took total of 3.6 years. Please feel free to DM if you guys have any question. Good luck all! 😊

It's Sunday, and a joke helps with approvals and case progress (correlation = causation... correlation = causation), so it's time for our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke*:
*if I repeat one, promptly speak up, and another will be gladly provided
    -------
    THE LUCKY PRIEST

One day, while Mitch was at the track betting on horses and losing his shirt, he noticed a priest who stepped out onto the track and blessed the forehead of one of the horses lining up for the 4th race.  Lo and behold, that horse -- a very long shot -- won the race!

Before the next race, as the horses began lining up, Mitch watched with interest as the old priest stepped onto the track.  Sure enough, as the horses came to the starting gate, the priest made a blessing on the forehead of one of the horses.

Mitch made a beeline for the betting window and placed a small bet on the horse.  Again, even though it was another long shot, the horse that the priest had blessed won the race.  Mitch collected his winnings, and anxiously waited to see which horse the priest would bless for the 6th race.  The priest again blessed a horse, Mitch bet big on it, and it won.

Mitch was elated.  As the races continued, the priest kept blessing long-shot horses, and each one ended up coming in first.  By and by, Mitch was pulling in some serious money.  By the last race, he knew that his wildest dreams were going to come true.  He made a quick dash to the ATM, withdrew all his savings, and awaited the priest's blessing that would tell him which horse to bet on.

True to his pattern, the priest stepped onto the track for the last race and blessed the forehead of an old nag that was the longest shot of the day.  Mitch also saw the priest blessing the eyes, ears, and hooves of the old nag.

Mitch knew that he had a winner and bet every cent that he owned on the old nag.  He then watched, dumbfounded, as the old nag came in dead last.  In a state of shock, he made his way down to the track where the priest was.

Confronting the priest, he demanded, "Father!  What happened?!  All day long, you blessed horses and they all won.  Then, in the last race, the horse that you blessed lost by a Kentucky mile.  Now, thanks to you, I've lost every cent of my savings -- ALL of it!"

The priest nodded wisely and with sympathy.  "Son," he said, "that's the problem with most people.  You can't tell the difference between a simple blessing and the Last Rites!"

I received  my 3rd PF today of 180 days, no RFE. Filing October 2019. This is a surprise FOR ME because i thought they won't issue a PF as there's a 204c decision on my i130 (that came last February 2021). Hope they just approve my case and i go fight my 204c on my i485.

That lawyer is ripping you off.
I’d suggest talking to @sandranj to check if she can take up your case.

Your case is unique because you’re under removal. Else many of us here including myself  have handled the VAWA process without any lawyer and solely by following advice we got from here and ended up saving money which would have otherwise gone to attorneys.

My dear VJF, I just want to use this opportunity to thank God and everyone who has ben a support to me in this journey. I was depressed, frustrated, life had no meaning, had only 30 days to leave the country but a friend introduced me to this group. I had no lawyer, couldn't even afford one but the wonderful people I met her encouraged me and told me what to do. I summoned courage and sent in my vawa.

Today it is a history, I went to my485 interview today. The African American lady  IO was so nice.  Only asked my name, DOB, parents name and yes/no questions which I wrongly answered yes o the paper on 2 questions, Imagine. So verbally I answered no cos I don't smuggle arms and dont belong to any terrorist group but in my 485 I answer yes( only God knows what was going on in my mid when I was filing my 485 last year, though I don't even blame myself cos then life was meaningless and don't know what net to do with myself)

"So the lady laughed and said I understand, go ahead and put your initials on your new answer which is no". So I did and thanked her. She told me we are through with the interview so I thanked her and left. She didn't ask me anything about my vawa. I didn't stay there more than 5 mins.
    New Card Is Being Produced

Because of the undeniable success of our jokes at evoking approvals and case progress (correlation = causation... correlation = causation), here is our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:
    ----------
WHY GO TO THE BAR AT ALL?

A newlywed couple had been married for only 2 weeks.  The husband, although very much in love, couldn't wait to go out on the town and party with his old buddies.  So he said to his new wife, "Honey, I'll be back soon."

"Where are you going, Coochie-Coo?" asked the wife.
"I'm going to the bar, Pretty Face.  I'm going to have a beer."

The wife said, "You want a beer, my love?"  She opened the refrigerator door and showed him 25 different beers from 12 different countries -- Germany, Holland, Japan, India -- she had it all.

The husband didn't know what to do, and all that he could think to say was, "Yes, Lollipop... but at the bar, you know, they have frozen glasses."

The wife immediately said, "You want a frozen glass, Puppy Face?"  She took a huge beer mug out of the freezer, so frozen that she got chills just from holding it.

The husband, looking a bit pale, said, "Yes, Tootsie Roll, but at the bar they have those hors d'oeuvres that are really delicious... I won't be long, I promise.  OK?"

The wife said, "You want hors d'oeuvres, Poochie Poo?"  She opened the oven and took out 5 dishes of chicken wings, pigs-in-blankets, mushroom caps, and pork strips.

The husband tried once again.  "But, my sweet honey... at the bar... you know... there's swearing, dirty words, and all that."

"You want dirty words, Sweetie Pie?" smiled the wife.  "Then drink your bloody beer in your bleeping frozen mug and eat your stupid snacks, because you're married now and you aren't going ANYWHERE!  Got that, you moron?"
