Do stick to nursing. "Freedom" is the last thing I associate with porn stars, by the way. Do some research before you jump in and permanently ruin both your physical and mental health. Really.

It's a lot cheaper to give birth in Philippines than over here. C-section over there in Philippines is still a lot cheaper than normal delivery over here in US unless you get free medical insurance premiums for your health care at work for your dependents?

Let's not confuse the issue. At no point did we get pregnant to expedite the process, it happened after we filed, other wise we would have got married and filed for a spousal visa. It is very rude for people to read and imply such a thing,
Also let's not confuse the fact that I am 5 times above the poverty level, I just don't have liquid cash on hand, think about 3 trips to the Philippines over 7 months, a first time child on the way and the start up costs,
While I appreciate the genuine responses, we come to this board for help, not to be judged or criticized, if that was the case I would just use facebook...

ca_babe got a reaction from Tahoma in Positive from TB skin test...
Some doctors in the Philippines don't have access to laboratories that do sputum test which is more accurate than the TB skin test that's why they advise people to take medication for TB with just a suspicion. The problem is that the skin test would show a positive even if you were given the vaccine when you were young even if you don't have TB.
OP, where are you in the process right now? If you already have a NVC number then you should go to St. Luke's Extension Clinic and do your medical over there. This is because they are capable to find out if you really have TB or not. If you don't have a NVC number yet, then I suggest that you go to St. Luke's Medical Center. The doctors over there can order a sputum test for you to confirm whether you really have TB or not. If you do need to undergo medication, you can just bring your records from St. Luke's Medical Center to St. Luke's Extension Clinic. As what other people said, the extension clinic do not recognize your medical records from most doctors. If you do need to take the medication, do not stop because you might develop resistance to the drugs that would make the treatment longer.

You are schedule for medical at St. Luke's right?..i guess since you stop your medication from your doctor, continuing it will not do good. Just wait for your schedule of medical and follow what the doctor from St. Luke will say about it.

Sputum culture and X-ray is the best. We can not speculate if you are contaminated or not. Only if you submit yourself for check up then you will know if you are

Ah - just noticed you are adjusting from the VWP/tourist visa.
This might explain the lawyer's concerns - at any point on Facebook for either of you did you mention intending to stay BEFORE the non-USC arrived in the US. Did any friends or family send messages talking about it etc.
The lawyer might be worried that there is something which shows intent to immigrate before arrival. Only you can know for sure whether there might be something - deactivating might be a good compromise.

Your Indin sisters here in the US, who have married tradional Indian husbands have told me to part these words of wisdom to you. HE is not going to change what you see is what you will have; here in the US or back in India. If you wish for him to be someone different, that's not going to happen.

Please provide a link to where you read that from USCIS as USCIS has nothing to do with regulating anything with USEM. If you have a cell phone when entering the embassy they will deny entry to the embassy they will not deny the visa. Once you remove the cell phone from your person they will let you enter.
Here is what the embassy states on their website:
    NOTICE TO VISA APPLICANTS

Cell Phones Not Permitted on Embassy Grounds
For the safety and security of all applicants and employees, visa applicants are not permitted to bring cell phones or other electronic devices into the U.S. Embassy. Applicants who bring such devices will be denied entry. Please make arrangements to leave your electronic equipment in a safe location off Embassy grounds during your interview appointment. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation.

ca_babe reacted to Bumbero in Any chance that I have HIV/AIDS?
    That's a tough situation
I'm not trying to add to your concern but it's not just HIV that you have to worry about. 200 women is quite a few. I would go to the physician and ask for a FULL STD work up. While HIV is a big concern, it's actually the hardest to contract. You need Hep B and C testing as well. Also the full spectrum of STDs, Ghonorrea, Chlamydia, Syphilis and Herpes. Some of these viruses can go undetected in males for a long time, so he might not even know he's carrying anything.
I recommend you educate yourself, not to the point of scaring yourself to death, but to be informed on this situation. GET TESTED and that will give you peace of mind.
    Good luck

I don't know any "real" Nigerian men. The only experience I have with Nigerian are those who emails me telling me I won a lottery or something and asking for my bank account numbers. I'm sure there are nice ones and hopefully, they'll respond to your post. But regardless of their culture, you should not be subjected to demeaning. Hopefully, he'll agree to couple's counseling or you can find good Nigerian couple and hang out with them so that your husband would know what a proper Nigerian acts like.

ca_babe reacted to jaycali in 15 years waiting for sibling petition- F1 now?
This petition won't matter for 2 reasons:
    1. It won't be current by the time your program is done, and
    2. You can't adjust status based on a petition from a sibling.
This is good news for your F-1 visa because it means you don't have to prove to the consulate that you're not going to try to adjust status - simply because you can't. What it can do, is show that you do want to immigrate to the US. Since F-1 is a non-immigrant visa, one of the requirements is that you don't intend to immigrate. If they ask about that, make sure you let them know that your intention is to finish the program, and then immigrate at a different time, when your petition is current (I assume that's the plan?).
Whatever you do, don't withdraw the petition. You don't have to mention it if they don't ask, but if they ask you about it, you must be honest.

There's probably more to this story that the OP isn't mentioning that's why she's so insistent on the adoption. Otherwise, any sane person would listen to the numerous advise given over here which is to file for legal custody instead of adoption.
