I didnt spent enough time on VJ for a while and I adore the community and the advises here, It helped tons in my first part of the journey... Im here, waiting the moment I have to start with ROC... meanwhile I tried to answer and help others as I was helped... I was away from internet for a while...
The real thing is that as soon as I came back I've been reading all this terrible cases of scam and lies... To be honest... IS AVOIDABLE!!!!
My case was throught internet meeting and as many, a long distance relationship. First of all, the long distance make it soooo difficult, but there are always flags to look for...
If you plan a wedding is wise to know the person face to face... not just by skype, facebook, chats or phone!!! A few days with someone gives you an idea of what to expect but they are easily a fake too... Are you meeting a person who is doing the things they do in any normal day or just a mirage of what you always dream??? Do you know the family, work place?? coworkers? friends??? You can guess a lot of someone knowing the real person with real relationships and real chores.
Now, is there limits on phone call schedule??? Can you just appear one day, surprising the person with a visit or call?? Nothing to hide means that it could be any time!!!
Checking the traditions and cultural differences can save you future brake ups and a lot of pain!!!
Normally is not advisable to send money for "monthly expenses or emergency situations" you really can't tell if it was true or not.
All these scams with pregnancy are so mean!!! Nowadays the only people who get pregnant is the one trying to, there are so many birth control options that makes unbelievable a surprise pregnancy. Is not bad to be a little sceptic about a pregnancy because you are not with the person 24/7 yet...
Also, if it looks like a "luck punch" or something that you could never dream of having... it could be just a fantasy... Try always to be true to yourself and dont let sweet words to blind you
Finally, can you be sure that is the love and share with you a life the reason to come to the US or is just wanting to come what makes your relationship work... what about trying the "maybe I can move to your country first" and check how that make the other person react.
Im sorry for the long post but I feel sad of reading all those stories with bad endings that can be prevented. Honestly wish you all a smooth and a happy journey because we all deserve great experiences and memories in our life.

Hi, unfortunately Pregnancy is not a reason to expedite a case... and Im sorry to be nosey but I just gave birth six months ago and at the beginning of the pregnancy you have to wait in average six to ten weeks to be able to see anything at all in an ultrasound... and at two weeks probably you dont even know you are late... the pregnancy count from your last period forward so two weeks pregnant is two weeks from her last period... As an advise I would be cautious (last week I saw a case here of a guy that saw two different babies throught pictures, that supposely born abroad and was told both are his and I think it was all a lie...) still I hope your journey is smooth and hopefully leads to your happiness

Hi, I came from Mexico almost two years ago with a k1 visa, I can tell you Im happily married, we have our first daughter, and I cant imagine nothing better!!! My husband loves me as much, its difficult to know deeply another person, if you add the stress of a different country it's worse, but i can assure you that it worth everything for one minute by his side!!! We live in Texas, in a samall town, I came from a big, big city and the change was so sudden, but im sure if you love each other and are willing to see the things positive you will do it smoothly... Our K1 process took 9 moths (I saw your other post) not three years... don't doubt, just start... is a terrible wait but its so amazing the opportunity of be together... you can always come back to Colombia, is not that everything is over once you settle here... we have that open door... who knows what life have for us

They will send the paperwork to Juarez consulate and you will receive an invitation letter from the Consulate that give you the info to schedule your app.

You can check in the forum for waivers in visa journey or as iawait told you in immigrate2us... And I'm sorry about your wait and separation from your family but understand that no case is identical to another so it seems unfair you are so critical to real love cases even if they just met each other once or just for a week, all the people have the same right that you have in this process... You don't know the suffer of the people that came here and live without papers in this country... just don't be so judgemental because is really selfish and unfair... my husband and I, as the majority of visa journey, are doing things legally and have to be far away of who we love... the same as you... the waiver is a need in your case because even for ignorance you violate the law, from the begginning coming on tourist visa, and live in the US is illegal, so is not just the school enrollment.
As to any people doing the process in the right way, i wish you the best and that your wait is super short, just don't be unfair with others, we are all suffering waiting times, separation, but we are just trying to be with the people that we love... so good luck today and forever.

Just to add, what we did was also going to DMV office to obtain an identification card of the state and help us a lot with other paperwork like bank, show identity, ssa... etc

I noticed that she told you that she doesn't need another mother... for me is kind of rude of her since is not like you will see her when she come home at night, you are miles away, not knowing anything she could be doing during weekends... none of us can tell you for sure because we don't know her but at least for me is a red flag she can't be affectionate and open to increase the trust and love. In my case i was and am really blessed with a husband that could call me and be there for me to be able to have a healthy and tolerable long distance relationship. The other thing is that some girls still have an old fashion values and traditions that is really against with the fact of her traveling with a man when she is married or in any relationship.
I can just tell you that, for me, is a matter of trust that was broken and you should think deeply about your future and how much you really know her. Prayers for you

One boy i met on the day of my interview needed one too and he went to the normal k1 visa interview with the waiver papers prepared... but still receive a blue paper telling him about the reasons for denying the visa in that moment... i hope someone correct me if im wrong, but i think is still a good idea taking the paperwork for the waiver on the interview date...

Hi, Well after your marriage within the 90 days of his arrival (you can get ssn, and in some states a identification card or a driver license.)
Your next step is to start the adjustment of status process, employment authorization and advance parole. He can travel for a short visit to his parents when he obtain his advance parole and employment authorization card...but he is stil in the process for his conditional green card....
In my case i didnt even apply for the advance parole because our lawyer recommend us to wait until we get the permanent resident card. Sometimes the interview for adjustment from a k1 visa is waived... but some still need to go to the interview
For a detail process you should go to the adjustment of status from family forum...

check on your consulate page, they normally have a list of the papers they need in original... My hubby sent me all the papers with original signature throught UPS, maybe he can do the same?? They kept, in my case, the original I 134, and the original of his declaration of intent to marry, he was divorced so also the original of marriage termination... plus the papers i fill out for the interview, like 260 confirmation page...

Hi, I dont know what you decided to do... but is important for you to realize something.... lets say that he can adjust his status with someone else... lets say he can stay and even be a citizen.... why you care??? he doesnt love you, you doesnt love yourself....
let me tell you this... years ago i had a sick relationship that had me like you are now... i didnt love myself... i let myself down because of my absurd decisions... and i hear one perfect advise... if he can be whoever he wants or been with whoever... why i care about it if he never cared about me... and the real thing is... respect yourself and dont act as bad as him or worse... you dont need to feel guilty, you dont need to do anything else for him, but you need to do a lot for you... is difficult and it could sound imposible but your only choice is to leave him and have not contact with him... at all... he could be all this time with another person... so, why you care if he goes with someone else now???
it took years and more tears to get rid of my blindness and leave my monsters in what it seems another life but i can assure you that now with my love, my husband... i can really say that the past was never love, was never that important... when you find real love you will know this was just a nightmare
