You’re worrying over something irrelevant. It was a temp job that nobody would care about. Forget about it. 🤷🏻♀️

Children are not derivatives on Spouse visa. If they need to immigrate they need s seperate petition
She is a green card holder/lawful permanent resident. Her husband will be under the F2A category. For their category the kids will be derivatives. What your saying is for the IR categories (relatives of US citizens).

That's what I was thinking, but I thought I'd play it safe and ask.
Thank you, so much!
For additional proof of relationship, include certified copies of your children’s birth certificates.

Maybe they sent you a visa packet that belongs to somebody else. It’s a do not open package so who knows maybe the packets got switched/wrong immigrant data sheet was attached. Best of luck!

Thanks a lot for your help guys!! I had one more question. I'm applying with my parents so will the three of us get interviewed together or separately?? I'm a 29 year old female.
I’m not entirely sure but if you put your parents on the DS160 as persons travelling with you, maybe they’ll interview all of you together.
On my parents’ DS160 they are travelling together and they were interviewed together.

Last update: passports received! 👍🏼
-
You or your husband don’t need to be there. Grandma can bring him to the interview. She needs to bring a valid ID to show at the Embassy gate. I brought my Philippine passport then because I accompanied my husband and our 3 kids when they had their interview. I was there solely as a companion (not the petitioner).
I don’t think they will even ask questions to the child, he’s 4! 🤣 It’s more of just a formality coz they want to see if the child is really who’s on the passport photo.

Beneficiary passport style photo is not required for the I-130 if the beneficiary is abroad. This was changed last year.
https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-130instr.pdf (p. 6)
You must submit two identical color passport-style photographs of yourself and your spouse (if he or she is in the United States) taken within 30 days of filing this petition.
Good call.
I looked at the last page (12) checklist and it was listed there without the parenthesis. 👍🏼

Passport size photo is required for both petitioner and beneficiary. 2 photos each.

Good thing you asked here first. I hope you didn’t pay for his services. 🧐
Anyway, check out my link below maybe it will help with your family’s application.

I'm applying for a tourist visa from India to visit my brother who lives in the US. Do I need to submit any documents before the interview?? I'm confused.
You only need to fill out the online DS160 form, upload a photo there and pay the fees (country specific). No other docs required. The CO is not interested in seeing any other documentation from a B2 applicant aside from the passport.
Good luck!

Here. In case you’re using a phone.

Check out the link below on my signature. You might find it useful as it did my parents.
Good luck!

The COs know it. Don’t stress about it. My proof of co-mingled finances back then were the remittance slips that my husband is sending me monthly allowance but the CO didn’t even ask for them. All he wanted to see were our photos.

I've seen that too. I believe I've read something about a certified copy but this is all so new to me.
Actually you don’t really need to do this stuff. I went thru spousal visa too and none of this was needed, atleast for the visa process. No need to stress about it. But it’s your call.

The insurance is one issue but I was also wondering if the NRA can use an ITIN for joint bank accounts and taxes. My banks will not add her to the account without an SSN or ITIN. I was wondering what people here have seen and done.
I’ve read some who applied for ITIN but one of the requirements is the mailing of the actual Philippine passport.
-
As far as I know, you can only add them once they’ve become LPRs.
You can get them insurance in the Philippines though.

If your friend’s husband stayed in the US then they didn’t apply for a spousal visa, what they did is adjustment of status. He can no longer get a visa IF he stayed the entire time inside the US.
You on the other hand, if you already have an existing B2 visa, then you can visit. Having the intent to stay is visa fraud. But I guess you already know that. I’m not sure if Canadian PR’s can cross the border without any sort of visa so check on that as well.
-
That lawyer is an idiot. 😂
People have already advised you that the stamp on mom’s passport is enough to prove her LPR status. Have her bring her child’s certified birth certificate so you can send the i130 the day after her arrival. Be quick because if your sibling ages out then it’s a longer wait for him/her.

My friend and his wife were LPRs at the time and did not intend for the mother to stay. After she arrived she refused to go back.
