He still made it so my husband's tourist visa was voided. The prospect of him not getting the CR1 AND loosing his tourist visa was extremely terrifying for us. I think the moral of my story is, even if it's legal and okay, don't expect the POE officer to actually know the rules... even people who work in this don't know all the time.

When I was interviewing with DHS/USCIS for my I-130, the officer very explicitly told me that being married to a USC cancels my husband's tourist visa. Assuming this is true, I don't think your husband will be let through, but I've heard stories saying the opposite.

This is a good thing for those young adults that came here by no-means of there own. Ive served 23 years in our military with these same young adults defending our freedoms and I salute them for there courage and sacrifices. What sucks is how people complain about how slow our immigration system is, many many many people want the opportunity to come to the U.S. and call it home, but we have a process to follow. It took about 9 months for my wife to get her visa, some are shorter, some are longer, just file and wait like everyone else.
President Barack Obama’s executive order applies to illegal immigrants under age 30 who were brought to this country before they were 16, and who have lived in the U.S. for five consecutive years.
They need to be law-abiding people who have gone or are going to school, or who have served or are serving in the military.

WrightFamily reacted to Linds&Youssef in Advice Needed.. 5 months no NOA2
I understand your frustration, but there are a few things to keep in mind here:
    1) The goal for processing times is 5 months. It's not a guaranteed time frame.
    2) The timelines you see here on VisaJourney are not necessarily completely accurate representations of all processing times for all visas of your specific type (they only reflect the visa applications of the members of this site... who fill out their time lines.
    3) The VCS received a higher than normal volume of applications this winter and spring.
All that said, I know it's hard to be patient (sometimes I'm so anxious about the progress of our case that I could scream!) But the reality of the situation is that USCIS will not respond to any questions of progress that come before the 30-day period directly following the USCIS-stated processing time frame that applies to your case. So if USCIS posts 5 months, they won't even speak to you until after 6 months have passed from NOA1.
I'm sure this probably doesn't make you feel any better, but at least maybe it'll clarify what's going on a bit for you.

I don't understand how people can be so impatient at times. We know that it can be quick as it can be late, so why not give it to nearly 6 months and see what happens. It is more likely that after 5 months or nearly 6 months it will be worked on and this happens in a lot of cases. They are under much pressure from all applications and cases being sent everyday. I hope people will consider this fact, instead of driving themself crazy and frustrated over this process.

WrightFamily reacted to Anh map in What should the Asian women do for their lives and their families if they married to American citizen men?
Each person makes a personal decision. Male or female. Rich or poor. Asian, African, European, etc.
Some marry US born citizens. Others marry US citizens born in their native countries.
Some marriages and/or moves work, some don't. No one can guarantee a future outcome.
For thousands of years people have left their homelands to find what they believe are better lives beyond the horizon.
What is the point that you are trying to make?

I don't really get what you're trying to say here. What adventure? You mean the marriage? I guess we can say that marriage is an adventure, but what does a marriage have anything to do with where or to what nationality does one marry? I married my husband not because he is American (or I should say, I married him in spite the fact that he is American, lol, kidding!), but because he is a compatible partner for me, who happen to be my best friend. I did choose to leave my homecountry years ago for a job, and now, I choose to move to the US to be with my husband, since it is the most eligible option for us for now (I can do my job from the US, he can not do his job from Japan).
I will always miss my family and friends back home, but my husband is my family too, and I am no way under any false pretenses that live in the US will be better than life in Japan or in Indonesia. It is not the US, it is my family, my best friend, my husband, that will make my life better.
    As simple as that.

Yes, if you willingly claim USC, register to vote, and vote while still in PR status, then you are in serious trouble.
Your case is different where the bank made a mistake. So you should be fine.

As long as you do not have signed a form claiming to be a US citizen, you should be fine. The bank obviously made a mistake. Did you open that account when you were a permanent resident?

Impossible you didn't mention these details before, first change all your door locks, second get a restraining order against him, file not divorce, but annulment of your marriage and report this guy TODAY to the cops, not as a missing person, but as an abuser!I just don't agree with MnnB because I saw several people that played the system that were deported. This story "let him go" oh man no way, no how.Sometimes in our life many things happen beyond our control, but other things we need to step up and make it happen. We don't need a scammer,an abuser walking with freedom in our streets.

    This is terrible advice!
If in the future this petitioner finds True-Love abroad and decide to file K-1 again,,,,,Well now you are considered a Multiple K Visa filer by IMBRA and will have to wait 2 years. The officer will bring this up in the interview of the future k-1 beneficiary.
Please withdraw the petition to avoid any future complications!

If you never received a NOA-2 APPROVAL: Write the USCIS a withdrawal letter as INKY said and follow-up with a phone call!
    BUT
If you received a approved NOA-2: you will need to Write a withdrawal letter TO the Embassy/Consular in the UK and follow-up with a phone call!
