US Immigration from Ukraine

Hi, just got the welcome letter from the NVC for my son's immigrant case (F2A visa, minor child of GC holder). My son is not very good with paperwork, so mom is helping out. Started looking at what needs to be done from his side in Ukraine (my case was a K1 a few years ago, its was non-immigrant and thus different, and mom is not male ). So pre-medical checklist calls for military card and the embassy wants military records from all male applicants ages 18-65, even if they never were in the military. My son is 20 and confirmed unfit for active duty due to injuries sustained when he was just 5 yo, he doesn't even have a "military card" as such. What will be the best way to meet the requirements? What must he bring to his medical/embassy? Thank you

Any other Americans who lived abroad for a substantial amount of time and move back feel really weird being back in the USA? I read into this a bit and discovered it's called reverse culture shock. It's been a year since I've been back full time and I still can't seem to shake it.

Having to drive everywhere again, deal with traffic, having higher expectations at work, more aggressive people, polarization of so many topics, increased cost of health and dental care, expensive rent prices while apartments are lower quality etc. It's all just been pretty tough to get used to again. I'm still kind of glad we made the move to the USA as the work situation is better here as I work in IT but everything else just seems like a massive downgrade. Could just be also that we don't do much as we have a newborn and coronavirus has made it tough for us to meet with people.

Anybody else go through this?

My wifes mother in in the hospital in ukraine with COVID and she wants to go there ASAP, what to do?

My wife (K-1) has her interview scheduled for Nov. 30. Her daughter (K-2, 5yo) does not yet have her interview scheduled, but it would be at the same FO. Her application is about 2 weeks behind her mother's due to it getting separated at the Lockbox.

Can her daughter come to the interview with us? The instructions clearly say that she cannot (since my wife's application is marriage based, I can and must come as well; nothing else in the list specifies that her daughter can since this isn't the daughter's interview).

I ask this question partially because of babysitting. But also because I'm wondering if the interview works similar to how the biometrics work, in that you can do both interviews on the same day. If, for instance, her daughter also gets her interview scheduled for a different day, can she comes with us on Nov 30 and we do both on the same day?

I'll be in Ukraine for a couple of weeks around the New Year. We can rent an apartment together.

Alternatively, Jenya can potentially get a job in Western Europe (where I would visit her).

Are there any thoughts which would stronger evidence to the embassy?

I'm ambivalent. The apartment together is easy and comfortable.

I think working in Western Europe can be a good life experience.

We will also get her ITIN and file a joint tax return.

I'll do the standard estate planning stuff to include her.
