My fianc and I are interested in applying for a CR-1 visa and are interested in getting married in a third country. Dose anybody have any recommendations as to what country would be best ? Dose it matter to immigration ? We are thinking of one the Caribbean countries maybe Dominican Republic ?

We are waiting for approval of I-130 application. Filed oct 15 and receipt on Oct31,2020. Mailed receipt says Texas, but when check status on- line says Nebraska. It is over the 7 month processing time for Nebraska . The on line system tells us the case is in Nebraska officially and we can see that it s over the processing time, but the system won t let us create an inquiry saying we are within the processing times. Would this mean the application is really in Texas where the processing time is up to 10 1/2 months?But why does the online system say Nebraska? We hope it isn t lost!

Looking at TexasService center processing times for I-130 are 1 week to 7 months for permanent residents, but 8.5 months to 10.5 months for US citizen filing for a spouse. I thought US citizens had priority over the other groups.( that is why lawyers recommend applying for citizenship rather than staying permanent resident). Why is it like this at the Texas service center?

Supreme Court: Immigrant who entered country illegally can't get a green card because of TPS program

WASHINGTON A unanimous Supreme Court curbed a 30-year-old immigration program for foreign nationals whose countries are ravaged by war or natural disaster, ruling its temporary protection from deportation doesn't guarantee a more permanent stay.

Some 400,000 people, most from El Salvador, live in the U.S. with Temporary Protected Status, which permits them to remain as long as the government determines they cannot safely return. At issue in the case was whether those immigrants could apply for lawful permanent residency, or green cards, if they entered the United States illegally.

Federal law requires immigrants seeking green cards to have been "inspected and admitted or paroled into the United States." A New Jersey couple from El Salvador who lived in the U.S. for two decades argued they met that mandate when they become TPS recipients. Both the Trump and Biden administrations disagreed.

Hi guys,

We are getting married soon and will go ahead with CR1 process asap. I am a Russian living in China with my USC soon to be husband, my savings are all in China and I would like to start slowly transferring the funds to USA. I would like to have my personal bank account in USA. Is it possible? Not a joint one. Is it possible to open a bank account for a non resident of US via online? If so, could you advise which bank to contact? Sorry, maybe a stupid question, but did not find much info online.
