Supreme Court: Immigrant who entered country illegally can't get a green card because of TPS program

WASHINGTON A unanimous Supreme Court curbed a 30-year-old immigration program for foreign nationals whose countries are ravaged by war or natural disaster, ruling its temporary protection from deportation doesn't guarantee a more permanent stay.

Some 400,000 people, most from El Salvador, live in the U.S. with Temporary Protected Status, which permits them to remain as long as the government determines they cannot safely return. At issue in the case was whether those immigrants could apply for lawful permanent residency, or green cards, if they entered the United States illegally.

Federal law requires immigrants seeking green cards to have been "inspected and admitted or paroled into the United States." A New Jersey couple from El Salvador who lived in the U.S. for two decades argued they met that mandate when they become TPS recipients. Both the Trump and Biden administrations disagreed.

I am a Russian living in China with my USC soon to be husband, my savings are all in China and I would like to start slowly transferring the funds to USA. I would like to have my personal bank account in USA. Is it possible? Not a joint one. Is it possible to open a bank account for a non resident of US via online? If so, could you advise which bank to contact? Sorry, maybe a stupid question, but did not find much info online.

I mentioned that I made error in my N400, month later after filing I was sitting at club meeting and I reaized that I am a member on lockal flight club, so answer for "9 A. Have you ever been a member ... club, party etc." should be yes. and I should list that club.

Did enyone add such information during interview, how did it go? did they ask more information about club? did they declline you?

Hello! How many of us have filed the I-129F? Although it will 95% just be closed, was curious if it would push the I-130 faster.

Sent mine in May 4, arrived May 5.

Got the text May 16. Had a Potomac receipt number (YSC) which confirms they are being processed together at Potomac.
