Hi all, My wife's IR-1 Visa is already DQ at the NVC since June 7, 2024, but still no interview appointment has been scheduled by the NVC. I heard about the new Visa Processing center in the Philippines to be opened on Sept 28 and I was wondering if I am allowed to try and schedule an interview since the NVC hasn't yet? I saw on the website that if the NVC hasn't informed me I can schedule an interview then I am not supposed to schedule an interview on the USTRAVELDOCS website. I am just confirming did I understand that right? Thanks all!

Anyone here had same scenario as my wife? Summary is, should she apply under 3yr rule or 5 yr rule? I came in as GC in 2017. Petitioned my wife to come in as GC as well. She arrived here in 2022. I became a citizen last year, March 2023. When can she apply for citizenship? After 5 years since entry? Or can she take advantage of my case, now a US Citizen, under 3 yr rule? March 2026(3 years) vs September 2027(5 years)

I have a situation regarding my visa application Background: Last 2022, I visited the US multiple times on a tourist visa, I never stayed beyond six months during any visit (5 and half months each time) . Unfortunately, upon my most recent arrival which is 2022, my tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to my frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here ( I was using my aunt's phone and on there it has aunt's work text exchange, i guess they used that against me and thinking it was mine) . I was denied entry and sent back same day. on her passport visa page they wrote down cancelled visa and stamped a application of withdraw, WD. immigration officer did state that I was not banned and I can reapply visa after 6months. *I stayed there for 5 months twice cause I love travelling, I travelled different states then my sister gave birth and my uncle died. So a lot has happened within those 10 months. I was also unaware about immigration before because I had my visa since i was a kid and we go to states every 5 years Now, I got married to a USC and we just recently got approved from CR1 (USCIS) , will this affect my visa? Has anyone have the same experience as me? I m having depression and anxiety just thinking about it. Now were almost near finishing the NVC.

TLDR: Embassy wants more info on overstay from ten years ago and we have very little documentation. Asking for advice please. Hello all. My fiancee will be attending her K1 Visa interview in two weeks in Tokyo, Japan. Today she received an email from the US Embassy. In it they asked the following: Thank you for sending us your requested documents by mail; however, we need to ask for some additional documents for your interview. Please see below and submit the documents along with other required documents in the instructions. - Original birth certificate for your child
- Any original official documents regarding your overstay/detention in Japan
- A photocopy of the original documents above, along with the translation if the documents are not in English
If you cannot collect the documents before your interview, please explain it on your interview day. Sincerely, Immigrant Visa Unit U.S. Embassy, Tokyo The background behind this can be read in detail in previous thread I made on Visa Journey here. We immediately called the visa services support phone number found on the usvisascheduling website. They reached out to the embassy for clarification and we received the following response: Thank you for your inquiry. Please submit any official documents regarding your overstay in Japan if any. If you do not have one, please contact immigration office if they have any. Thank you for your cooperation. Sincerely, Consular Communication Unit U.S. Embassy Tokyo/ky To be blunt, my fiancee, received / was able to keep, very little documentation directly tied to the overstay and detention. She does have her Japanese police certificate(sealed), the certificate of eligibility showing her being allowed back into Japan after the one year self deportation and her old passport showing her original deportation in 2014 and that she shouldered the expenses of self deportation. That is all. We contacted her immigration lawyer who advised that it is very unlikely that Japanese immigration will release any of that documentation as they are used for investigation purposes. Nevertheless we will be calling the local immigration office in the municipality where she was detained ten years ago in the morning to make a request. We are in a bit of a panic and could use some advice please. Are we overlooking anything? Is there anything else we can do? Thank you all in advance for your thoughts and advice.

Hi, longtime lurker here but I haven't found the info I'm looking for upon scouring the forums. You see, I'm on my 8th week waiting for the sputum culture results. However, St. Luke's called me for additional instructions earlier, 5 days before I return on Sept. 30. The person on the other line said she'll call be back because she needed to consult with her manager upon finding out that I wasn't from Manila. She was so vague about it as well. Anyone experienced this? Would it be weird if I tested positive this late into the culture? Anyway, I never got the follow up call despite waiting all day. It's making me anxious and my fiance's distraught over the possibility that I might have tested TB positive.
