US Immigration from Philippines

I've seen that CR1 visas allegedly have about a 9% denial rate and I'm wondering how it is for IR1 visas.

Hi, I am planning to apply for N400 under the 5-year rule (in Alaska) and I have a couple of questions since I am divorced (no children). I obtained my GC via spouse visa.

I entered the US May 2019 (May 2024 marks my 5th year)

Filed ROC Feb 2021

Separated by March 2022

ROC approved and received 10-year GC Jan 2023

Filed for divorce March 2023

Divorce finalized May 2023

What documents do I need to prepare, and will I be asked a lot about my previous marriage?

Do I also need to bring a certified true copy of the divorce decree (I have the original document)

*Just a note, my Philippine passport is in my maiden name while my GC is still in my married name. Will I have a problem with this?

Anyone here who has the same situation and has already filed? Any advice?

We received our NOA2 and are awaiting our MNL number. So we're thinking ahead/daydreaming. For POE our choices are Guam and Honolulu.

Guam pros -

She arrives in the middle of the night with a 2+ hour layover. My thinking is the immigration process would be less hectic.

Bags would be checked to Honolulu so she could focus on getting thru immigration and nothing more.

Easier to estimate when to book inter-island flight from Honolulu coz in theory she would buzz thru Honolulu customs.

Guam cons -

Long-assed day

Honolulu pros -

Direct flight from Manila.

Honolulu cons -

Customs/immigration would be busier and less predictable time-wise

Between immigration, getting bags and getting to interisland terminal, almost impossible to estimate when to book flight out of Honolulu.

To me Guam wins. Am I neglecting anything??

I am a USC petitioning for my Filipina wife from overseas. We got an I-130 petition approved through direct consular filing back in 2018 but I decided to stay in the Philippines for a few years and enjoy the cheap life, so we let it expire. Now we are petitioning again from overseas (direct filing is no longer an option in the Philippines) and I'm wondering how a former approval looks in the application. Does it make the case stronger that USCIS has already deemed us to be a bonafide couple (we also have tons of strong evidence) or do they not like that we let the approval lapse?

I read that each country views applications differently culturally. My spouse is from the Philippines. There is a There is an 20 year There is an age gap: My wife is 45, and I m 65. Our CR-1/ I-130 application has been pending for over one year now. We hope to get NOA 2 approval in December 2024. The Philippine consulate seems to have a backlog, and they re taking almost another year to get an end interview. We ve been married for almost two years now. What is the likelihood of her getting a B-2 Visa to visit the USA while the CR-1 application is pending?
