When to give up on our K1.... Never ending wait during Covid

Currently have had NOA2 approved since early February for my fiancee in the Philippines, but we had our interview cancelled in March due to Covid. With the way the politics are in the Philippines, it seems like to me that the US Embassy might not even open next year. I am thinking about setting May 1 as the "give up"date, as it seems like we have to move on with our lives at some point.

Fiance wants to be OFW.... opinions please

My fiance now wants to work overseas somewhere like Dubai or Qatar (she has a sister there). I have been against the idea because as I hear, such arrangements are normally for two years which throws several monkey wrenches into our plans to be together potentially.

With our NOA2 was Nov. 13. however, and given the backlog at embassies, like Manila where they appear to be 9-10 months behind (and growing) (probably won't see nay real processing util vaccines are widespread and COVID cases are down, it seems unlikely we would get an interview date until 2022.

If so, a two year OFW commitment could probably be completed without too much disruption to the marital plans. Also, I'm starting to feel like she could really learn some things from such an experience that she needs to, both good and bad.

Relevant thoughts, opinions, experiences are welcome.

Good Day everyone!

I just want to share some updates from our immigration process. This might give ideas to other applicants as well. :)

Priority Date - June 2, 2000; became current on visa bulletin last May 1, 2020

February 28, 2020 - Received an email from NVC (Notice of Immigrant Visa Case Creation)

*Started working on DS-260 and completing the required documents*

April 27, 2020 - Completed and submitted the DS-260

September 11, 2020 - Received an email from NVC again telling us to resubmit our police clearance (We submitted police certificates only, they were asking for NBI clearance).

September 11, 2020 - Same day, we uploaded the correct documents they were asking for.

December 8, 2020 - Received an email from NVC again (Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified)

It has been 10 long months of waiting to be documentarily qualified.

I was also overthinking for the first few months because of aging out (I turned 21 last July 2020). I posted here a topic about me being aged out.

I would like to thank those people who replied to my topic. You gave me clarity about how CSPA works. :)

Regarding the topic of me being aged out, I'd also like to share that the petitioner emailed NVC about it and they replied this:

"Dear Sir/Madam:

We reviewed your petition and we determined that the applicant appears to be eligible for the Child Status Protection Act (CSPA) benefit.

Please note that our determination is not final. A consular officer makes the final determination at the applicant's interview."

As of now, we are waiting for the schedule of our interview.

I hope we receive an interview appointment early next year and be accepted by the consular officer considering my case. *crossed fingers*

We are praying that the immigration ban won't be extended anymore. Praying for the best!

This post is kinda long but I hope you somehow had an idea about f4 immigration process.

Any comments/opinions will be much appreciated! Keep safe!

Hello, Everyone! Just a quick question, does the priority date needs to be the exact date on the Visa Bulletin? I saw that the current pd for philippines in Jan 2021 VB is 01 Feb 02 and our pd is 05 Feb 02. Thanks!

I know it takes almost three decades for the visa to become available, but when will I need to pay the fees? Is it once the petition is approved and at the NVC for processing, or once the visa is available and NVC is done processing them?

Thanks in advance!
