My sons are 9 and 11. On November 1st, the 11 year old got an email from NVC saying his expedited request was approves for posting, but that was it. We never requested an expedite. Nothing else, so we waited. Then on November 28th, the 9 year old got an interview letter for January. Still waitng for the letter for the 11 year old. What should I do? Thank you!

Hi everyone, I m seeking advice regarding my N-400 naturalization application, which was denied recently. I applied under INA section 319(b), as my spouse is a U.S. citizen employed as a civilian pipefitter for the Department of Defense (DoD) at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. His job requires annual temporary duty (TDY) assignments abroad, including multiple deployments to Japan over the past 10 years. The denial was based on the officer's determination that my spouse didn t meet the one-year continuous residence requirement overseas. However, TDY assignments are unpredictable and can be cut short or extended based on the nature of the job. I ve read that under INA 319(b), spouses of U.S. citizens regularly engaged in qualifying overseas employment may be exempt from the continuous residence and physical presence requirements. Can anyone confirm if my spouse s role with the DoD qualifies as "qualifying overseas employment" under INA 319(b)? Has anyone faced a similar situation with TDY assignments and successfully received naturalization? Thank you for your guidance!

Hi folks, My step son got his AOS approved last month (November 9th). As part of the I-485 application process, we requested a social security card for him. We have not received any information on his SSN since receiving his green card. We initially tried to get him a SSN when he initially entered the country like we did with his mother, but the SSN office told us that he could not apply for it before the AOS. I am not sure if we need to continue to wait for his SSN to arrive or if we need to go down to the local SSN office & try to get him one ourselves. Can anyone shed some light on the subject? Thanks! Kawika

Fianc had her visa interview about 3 weeks ago for a K1 visa in Manila and they told her that she was approved and collected her passport. We are still showing as "Ready" on the CEAC website. Before the interview, we did have to submit a different DS-160 due to a couple mistakes on the first one. We brought that to the interview and they accepted it, as they told us to do. We have still not received her passport back so I made an inquiry and received this response: " Our review of records shows that your case is undergoing administrative processing. Please be advised that the duration of administrative processing varies based on the individual circumstances of each case. The U.S. Embassy understands the importance of timely processing, but adjudicators balance the requirement to process cases in a timely manner with upholding immigration laws. Visa adjudicators review the visa........" This is bad right? During the interview, they did not ask for additional documents. Is this probably all because of the incorrect DS-160 that we submitted? How long of a delay do you think we could receive for this? Is there anything I could do to move the process forward? Thank you for any insight into this process

I was notified today that our case has been transferred from the NVC to the U.S. Embassy in Manila. I have completed the DS-160 and filled out most of the visa application on the U.S. Visa Scheduling website. However, I am encountering an issue on the final page, where it requests our NVC case number and payment option. When I attempt to submit the information, I receive the following error: "The Case Number entered is invalid. Please confirm your Case Number and re-enter it." Currently, our CEAC status shows as "In Transit." Do I need to wait until it changes to "Ready" before I can pay the visa fee?
