I didn't think to send any pics along with our 485 so I'm wondering if that's a problem. I guess I can upload some now if need be. We've been married 12 years and and have a half dozen or more visa stamps entering and departing the US together. (B-2). I figured if they really want them she could have them look through her phone for a billion or so pics from past trips.

Tourist Visa

Hello VJ members,

So my wife wants to bring her parents over to the US to visit, with a target date of the holidays.

I have three questions:

1. Is the Manila embassy open for business or still closed due to the pandemic? If it is the latter, is there yet an established target date for reopening?

2. Balancing between any COVID-19 processing delays and our holiday 2021 target, when should we start the application process?

3. For FYI purposes, in case pandemic restrictions derail any travel plans in 2021 and pushes our target date, how long is a tourist visa valid for once it is issued?

Thank you for answering my questions!

K-1 Visa Case Expired. Please Advise

Recently found my petition case had expired; After receiving our NOA2 in 2020, the pandemic was quickly spreading. Travel restrictions made it difficult to pay the fees through the recommended bank by the consulate for the NVC. As a result my case expired without getting scheduled for medical and interview.

I emailed the US Embassy in Philippine requesting for an extension of the case and awaiting for their reply. Is there anything else I can do? Please advise.

Thank you.

Good Day everyone!

US embassy here in the Philippines just posted an update about their operations regarding visas.

The Embassy is currently processing limited numbers and they included in the immigrant visa:

  • Interviews for Immediate Relative family members of U.S. citizens, including intercountry adoptions: IR-1, CR-1, IR-2, CR-2, IR-3, IH-3, IR-4, IH-4, and IR-5.

I wanted to ask if "Immediate Relative family members" and family based immigration are just the same?

Does it include F4? Thank you!!

Greetings to all

We just wanted to thank everyone for all the support we have received throughout our journey. We had our interview today and was approved for a 10 year GC. We are beyond excited.
